You say you have good restriction, yet are having trouble sticking to a "diet". Are you eating "slider" foods like ice cream? If your eating too much solid food to loose weight, maybe you don't have good restriction.

As far as excersise, what can I say but DO IT! It has so many benefits, weight loss being just one of them. As you say, you can work around the arthritis. I find there is something about excersise that helps with food choices.

Make sure you are getting all your Water and protien in too. At least 64 oz water and 60 gms protien. Good luck, you can do it!

OK, I'll try to motivate you, LOL!!! I was banded July 1st. at 269 lbs. At that point I was sore by the end of the day(teaching 1st Grade) and unable to keep up with my 7 year old daughter. I woudl wake up with awful pains in my legs and my feet. Today I am 170lbs!!!!, at 5'10 I wear a size 10!!!!! (I'm so proud I want to wear my pants inside out for everyone to see!) and I'm running my first 5K at the end of March. I exercise Monday-Friday but nothing crazy, running and light weights but started out doing the bike and no weights. Right now I have a horrible strand of strep that not only is making my throat sore but has attached to my joints and muscles, I've been out of the gym all week, let me tell you, you're body feels better exercising rather than not!!! Do it girl!!!!! You will LOVE the way you feel!!! I also watch what I eat, Protein is my first priority always! You can do it!!!! I'll be 40 in May and I look and feel better than when I was 30!!!!

I'm very open with people about my surgery and I always say, " I didn't go through surgery to not loose weight, I was doing that all on my own"

Also you might take a minute and write down all the reasons why you had the surgery in the first place. Remember all the annoyances, discomforts, embarrassments, etc. Things you didn't do because you were uncomfortable because of your weight.....if you're like me your list is long!! Get on this site often, it in itself is motivating. Keep your eye on the prize...you can do this.

Awesome story jenjaw!! Great job and a real inspiration to us all!!

I had to have my knees replaced from being morbidly obese. The Arthritis Shot both knees, it just ate them away, they honestly wondered if it was bone cancer.. It was not. I walk to the best of my ability., and I signed up to rent a Physical Rehabilitation's Gym. So I can use there equipment, and not hurt so much in the process.

Call around and check into this. Allot of places are doing it for the money, and there is no contract at all.

You might have to use your ins., just to get in the door, and then when there done working with you, you can sign up.

I started this years ago, and I don't regret it at all.

You asked for help, I just gave you the answer to your problem, because even people in there wheelchairs that can't walk, are getting up and walking with help, and in time they lose weight, and they get stronger.

Feel Free to send me a message. would be glad to help.

Been there ! trust me !

Shirley.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
