Hey Everyone Pain Afer Surgery Question Here??
What I am hoping to get out of this thread is some people to share their experience with how their pain felt after surgery. I mean did it hurt to wipe your butt, or was it hard to tie your shoes because of the pain, could you shower, how different did you feel? I mean was setting up hard to do or were you afraid to pick up your child. Was it just sore or was it very painful did it feel as if something were ripping loose inside you. And like how different does it feel to eat now does it feel like food it stuck just below your throat or do you feel like ur belly is full?>? Any how for those of you who don't know me I'm Chris 23 years old from TN my surgery will be done by Dr. Fromm at Memorial Hostpital in Chattanooga, all I'm waiting on is an aproval from insurance and hopefuly will have that in 2 more weeks minimum, and I'm nervous and you guys are really helpful to ease my mind most of the time!

Scary Thoughts
Or Any Case like that you know its just a scary thought to me to know I could have lived but the band caused my death, I've heard of the one incident in England I think were the lady had a somache problem and the doctors didn't know she was banded and put that tube down here esophogus?? That a big big fear on my mind rite now!
-
Scary Thoughts
Ok guys I don't want to bring anybody down but what if you had the band and one day were driving down the road alone and got in an accident...Something happens to your internal organs etc.. and the ER doctor that is working on you has no idea you have the lap band?

Ever Get Tired Of Waiting
:faint: I apreciate you telling me and I really haven't been waiting very long, About 4 months so far I think I'm just a very impatient person haha. I'm really glad that you had a good experience with Dr. Fromm I was going to be going with Dr. Ponce but he wasn't in my network I'm having my surgery at Memorial and I'm seeing Dr. Fromm at the office in Chattanooga TN he seems to be very nice but that all I pretty much knew about him. Other than a few other people I had talked to at the office. I'm guessing if I had to guess that my surgery will probably be sometime in late November or early December not really sure just yet. I have my eval last week and that seems to be all that was left for my insurance so I'm very hopeful!!:cry till then patience, and try not to gain to much weight..:hungry:
-
psy eval
My eval wasn't bad either, although it lasted an hour and a half it was basicly just setting down and talking with my counceler. Mostly just for insurance purposes I suppose. Hopefully the final mile stone for insuranse to just say yes get it done!! When that day finaly is here I will be very exited.

Personal Question About The Surgery?
sounds great to me oh it would be awful to wake up during surgery probably my bigest fear of the whole ordeal lol can you imagine waking up with a tube in your throat and prongs going in ur belly I would probably pass back out anyway
-
The Exact Recomended Diet??
Yea I guess you just can't be to precautious I mean it is surgery and if you mess it up there is another surgery and I don't want to be cut on but once if I can help it ya know.
-
Personal Question About The Surgery?
well I suppose the pain meds will help to ease my mind off of it if It comes to that lol not gonna worry to awful much about it
-
The Exact Recomended Diet??
:cry Hmm so I guess I will have to guess at it I just don't want to mess up my pouch I know some banders talk about how they can eat more and still be full and I guess if you kept eating more you would eventually stretch out your top pouch and cause slippage?

Personal Question About The Surgery?

Personal Question About The Surgery?
Ok I've not ever had any kind of surgery and have heard many scary tales lol. But one main question on my brain laugh if you want, but do you have to wear a cathater or casater I don't like the sound of how that is used and really would like to avoid this and in my mind don't see the need of having one for such a short surgery... I mean I don't pee the bed so I shouldn't pee while in such a short surgery. Just wondering if anyone woke up with a bag hooked to them??:notagree

Okay, here goes
I am having mine done by Dr. Fromm also I'm glad to hear that someone else is doing great after having it with him!:clap2: So was there a lot pain involved? How long was the surgery, and what time did you get to go home if u don't mind me asking.
