  1. I feel your pain. I am starving within about an hour. It is hard to just have 3 meals a day with no snacks when you are starving. grrr!:wink2:
  2. I am glad that you didn't let your doctor bully you into getting a certain surgery. I just don't think doctors should do that. To me, they should work with me to find out what is best for me, not what is best for their pocket books. I know that not all doctors do that, but I'm just saying...
  3. I have everything crossed that I can!:wink2:
  4. Congrats! You know, the slower the loss, the better chance you have of your skin shrinking without plastic surgery! Keep up the good work! I hope to be like you in that many months!:wink2:
  5. I love Crystal Light, but the regular lemon one gives me reflux (before surgery). They have a natural lemon flavor that didn't seem to be as acidic as the other. My doctor recommends Crystal Light for people that don't like water (people like me).
  6. I forgot about it being tax deductible. I wonder if the $1000 "fee" that I had to pay is tax deductible too? hmmmmm
  7. I don't know if this is common. I do know that my doc says no gum after surgery. The thought is, if you swallow it, you could become blocked and they could have to surgically remove the gum. Not something that I ever want to happen to me. I figure, if it helps you right now, chew it, but to talk to your doctor about how he/she feels about gum chewing after surgery. Good luck next month!
  8. Today is the day! woohoo!!! I am praying for you! You are going to rock this surgery!
  9. SNT, today is the day! You are going to do so awesome! Keep us posted (even if drug induced ) on how you are doing. To everyone else, HAPPY ALMOST  FRIDAY!
  10. I didn't even include that in what I paid. In total I will have paid a little over $1500. My surgeon charged $250 program fee (I paid $95 of that) and a $1000 "fee" on top of what he charged for the surgery. I paid $1305 in advance (including the "fee"), but my insurance said my part to him should have been $182. They claim that they will give me a refund. I paid $95 for the nutritionist/psychiatric visit. Then I owe $150 to the anesthesiologist. Thankfully, they paid 100% on the hospital.
  11. I just visited my insurance companies website to check on whether or not they had paid any claims from my surgery. Holy cow batman! The charges from the dr's and hospital are outrageous! There is $9,100 from my surgeon, $2,100 from the anesthesiologist (sp?), and then here is the kicker, $21,077 for the hospital! I am grateful that all of the claims show as paid. Out of all of it, they show me owing a little over $300 total. I have already paid my surgeon (they owe me money back). The total price just really blew me away. My surgeon charges $14,000 (including the surgery center) for self pay, so why the drastic prices?
  12. That's ok, you can just hobble your way in there. :-0
  13. I'm sure I missed it somewhere. How is your baby doing?
  14. I am sorry that you are going through so much. You said it right about how hard we have had to work just to get the surgery. If people understood the mental anguish that we go through trying to get all of the requirements handled... You stay strong. Just remember why you were doing this in the first place. Keep that in mind. It will all work out.
  15. I wonder if you tell the doctor just how much you are struggling with hunger, if they will give more fill on the first go round than they normally do? I have spoken to another poster who is also going to my doctor. She said that he didn't give much fill on the first go round. I really don't want to get a fill only to still be as hungry as I am right now. That would really suck eggs.
  16. SNT, that actually happened to me on Monday. I thought our early voting started then, but needless to say, I was wrong.
  17. I say to heck with that psych. You know you a whole lot better than that doctor that has never seen you before and probably won't after. If that doctor puts on the form that they don't recommend you for surgery, talk to your surgeon about seeing a different psych.
  18. You should visit all parts of the forum. There is so much information every where. I enjoy reading in the forum for my month, but that isn't the only place I go. Lurk and enjoy! Sorry to highjack your thread for a minute Tyme2GetRite!
  19. I know you asked if anyone DIDN'T have to do the 6 months diet, but here is what happened with me. I have BCBS PPO, and it is stated that I am to have tried a 6 month diet. BUT they accepted a six month period from less than 2 years ago where I went to the doctor every month for six months. Diet wasn't the reason I went to the doctor, but it was discussed. The doctor's office was glad to fill out the six month diet papers showing my weight and BMI and the diets discussed. If you had a period like that in the last 2 years, they may accept that without you having to start over with a diet. Or if you have had more than one visit in a row now, maybe you could continue those so that you are not starting over. This is a "just in case you have to" measure. I hope that it turns out that you don't have to do one. I think you can send emails to BCBSAL's customer service. If you can, they can send you what is exactly stated in your policy. That way you can print a hard copy or save it. I did that with BCBSIL and saved the information for later. Good luck to you!
  20. Is this the Iron Melts that you are talking about? Iron Melts If it is, does it mess with your stomach? My PCP has been trying to get me on iron for years for poor iron, but have been unable to tolerate the iron tablets that I have found here in my area.
  21. Don't say it. I don't know if I can take any more of this election! No lawsuits to recount FL! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  22. That is how I feel right now. My problem is, I don't think my doctor is going to give me much of a fill. That means another month of starving. How did you handle it? Or did your doctor give you enough fill the first go round to stop the feeling of starvation?
  23. PJTP I just early voted! Election season is SO over for me! Now if I could just not have to hear or see any more commercials! grrrr:angry_smile:
  24. I cheated. I was called in to work during the middle of the night, and passed a small line at Krystal's. I knew with the line that the Krystal's were going to be fresh. I ate 2 cheese Krystal's on day 6 of my liquid diet. I have to tell you the truth and say that they were awesome, but I felt so guilty after that. I also had to start over the entire process of not feeling so good without the carbs.
  25. Posting just to post...SNT, you are going to do so well tomorrow!
