  1. Hi everyone! I hope that everyone is doing well. It was pretty busy at work today, so I wasn't able to get on here to check in. Beth-I hope that you get some good news on the job front. heartfire-I am glad that your DDog is much better. tap-I hope that the alarm went off very soon after you posted about it. I don't think I could just sit there and listen to it. I would have unplugged it.
  2. PJTP-I am not sure what DS is buttering me up for, but he told me that I look pretty good. He even mentioned that I looked thinner. It made me feel good because of a little situation from Friday where a mean spirited "Christian" woman (I used the quotes because she is one of those PG Christians that turn you off religion)that I work with on occasion told me that I needed to go on a diet. WTF??? :cursing:Thirty minutes later, she pretended that she didn't remember saying any such thing, but we both know that she said it. I wasn't even sure how to respond without possibly putting my job in jeopardy by hitting her in her fat mouth. Needless to say, hearing my son tell me that I was looking good made me feel better.
  3. I heartily agree. It takes a special type of person to put their lives on the line to help others whether that is police, fire fighters, or military. I am grateful to all of them.
  4. Ok, I haven't been posting because I haven't been doing so well with the exercise. I have been wearing a pedometer at work. I have trying to make sure that I take the longest routes and taking the stairs. I have gotten to about 7000 steps a day. I know that isn't great, but I am working on it. I also ordered some new shoes that are supposed to help work your legs more while walking (skecher shape-ups). We shall see how that goes. I will post about them if they don't kill me.
  5. re:funerals-I don't understand why people are so disrespectful to funeral processions. We had a long time family friend, he was a police officer, that died in the line of duty a few years back. I could not believe the number of people that drove through the procession (some even got into the lane with us!). I don't know if we have any laws concerning funeral processions, but I was always taught that you pull over to the side of the street out of respect and let the full process pass (no matter which side of the street you were on). We didn't have a problem with the people trying to cut through the honor guard in front of the church, but the procession was just ruined.
  6. Wow! Your DH is very lucky to be alive. You hear about people dying in cars hitting deer, so I can only imaging how much worse that could have been! You and your DH are very blessed. Heartfire-I hope that your DDog is ok. Morning everyone!
  7. Have fun Beth! I am jealous!
  8. Where I work, if it's hot outside, it's freezing inside. If it's freezing outside, it's freezing inside. I think I am starting to recognize a pattern.:tongue_smilie:
  9. Tap-I would have gone back home. I can only hope that your day only gets better from here. G4E-I cannot fathom them knowing your condition, and not telling you something so important. I can't blame you for contacting a lawyer. I hope it works out well.
  10. I like that. They get to decide whether it is important enough to pursue. Cool.
  11. I'll be sending good thoughts your way to all of your situations taken care of soon. Check in as much as you can, but know that we will be thinking positive thoughts for you whether you see them or not.
  12. Ok, I ordered my shecher shape-ups today. Thanks again for posting about them. I have been trying to up my steps at work (I walk about 7000 steps a day there) and really hope these will help shape my tush while doing it.
  13. Man, you guys have been busy! There is no way I can recap on it all. I can be pretty flexible on the time frame for the TX trip as long as I know before November to request the vacation time. G4E-I am so glad that you have some relief from the pain! Tap-I don't understand why anyone would do something so stupid as cheat on something so important. That is beyond stupid and such a waste.
  14. I continues to surprise me. I just keep thinking EXIT ONLY!
  15. Ok, so I never had the nerve to ask, but have been dying to know that!
  16. That is great Beth!
  17. Interviews, at work...what is wrong with these people? Don't they know that these things would be so much more enjoyable with a little libation?:tongue_smilie:
  18. Beth-good luck at the interview! So sorry about the sunburn. Is there anything that you can do to ease the discomfort on your face? Tap-hopefully we will be able to come up with a date that we can all do. I so want to meet all of you!
  19. I am so glad that you made it to Florida ok. Enjoy yourself (like you really had to be told that one). I am living vicariously through you (just like I have done through everyone that has traveled recently) so as many details as possible! I will keep my fingers crossed for you on the job front! Obviously, I am so excited about work that I can't sleep!
  20. That is so awesome! I am so excited for you!!!! No need to ask how you are doing. You are doing fantastic!
  21. G4E-I meant to add that you are right about the people that didn't come to DGS' birthday party. The least they should have done was called to say that they couldn't make it. They should not have done that to a child.
  22. G4e-I am so sorry that you are not getting the help that you need right now. I just don't understand it. The people that abuse the system get what they need, but the people that have worked hard and are simply on hard times get left in rain. That sucks. I hope that you are able to get some relief and help with your situation. Susan-I was around, but no one else was...I have no life (other than the pesky MIL situation). DH went to work today. I tried to get DS to go with him, but no... I am just going to do as luluc said, veg out in front of the TV. My vacation is officially over in the A.M. (although I have been on call since Thursday night). I am ready to go back to work (can you tell I am trying to work myself up here?).
  23. I still don't get it. My first "experience" was in a doctor's office as a teen during an exam. That was an awful experience. Now, I could never look on it as something that could possibly be pleasurable. Not happening. My DH and I tried it once and that was enough. Neither of us liked it (thank goodness).
