it returns for most of us sometime within the first year. Mine came roaring back at five months out. Be grateful for its disappearance - although it's kinda weird to get used to, it will never in your life be easier to lose weight than it will right now, when you're never hungry and don't give a flip about food. Things will get more challenging once it returns. I wish mine never had.

ok yes some of us still feel "hungry" directly after surgery, but while you are healing its so important to follow the guidelines and not to eat more than recommended your nerves are damaged and you will not be getting the correct signals just yet. I use to have an empty pit feeling but discovered it was thirst related if I drank before a meal or drank lots during the day I didn't get it. like the others have said "full" feels different now until you get to the bloated stage which you do not want. follow the guidelines for now until you are completely healed

Well I spoke to the Dietitian last night and there are things I am allowed that I haven' been having eg scrambled egg , Oatabix , Cottage Pie , mashed banana and then 2 weeks later bread sticks , crackers , hummus , bran flakes etc so I have got a lot more variety .She ok'd the cottage cheese and the mashed tuna for clarity .It's so nice not to just be on shakes and Soup !

Don't be so hard on yourself, rest and take it easy, think about exercise when you are feeling better right now you need time to heal. You are seeing results which is great, you are on the right track. The first few months are the hardest where we don't feel like we are drinking enough or eating enough but you most likely are providing you are not getting dehydration symptoms etc. Your Hormones will be all out of whack for a bit too so hang in there do your best, rest and look after yourself you will be fine.
P.S I did zero exercise and still hit my goals

I think the walking after surgery requirements (clot prevention) is only temporary for a couple of weeks. I was just told to not sit still for hours, 1 minute every 15 just seems weird and how are you suppose to relax and recover doing that. getting up getting a drink going to toilet and normal stuff you do around the house maybe a small walk every couple of hours ( around your house) would be enough. but dont stress about it.

Re: losing teeth and TikTok. It's TikTok. Who's saying this? First hand post WLS patients with first-hand knowledge, or the Body Positivity/Fat Liberation/HAES crowd who have a vested interest in putting others off weightloss? I've never heard of the teeth thing. It sounds very much like scare-mongering BS to me, and that it's coming from TikTok raises one mighty red flag. You'll likely have some temporary Hair loss, but losing teeth? Never heard of such a thing in terms of a WLS side effect.
Re: the easy way out. People again often have an ulterior motive, or are projecting their own issues when they double down on the whole "easy way out" myth. I have never dieted harder and changed my lifestyle more diligently than I have after WLS. WE do the hard work counting calories and watching macros and exercising. The surgery simply makes it next to impossible to fall off the wagon. Do people who insist it's the easy way imagine it's ... what? Like the tooth fairy? Fat is taken away by the blessed pixies every night as we still eat whatever we like? It's ignorance, or in the case of people who want to argue and not accept the truth: willful stupidity. And they're not people worth having around.
Some people also just project their own insecurities and that will manifest as a nasty little emotion called envy. You'll find these people in both the above camps.

I walked to go to the bathroom and get myself drinks and meds throughout the day. Otherwise, my team said to walk regularly so in addition to that I walked five times a day, five times around the outside of my house and spread that throughout the day. I pumped my legs frequently.

honestly, one minute every fifteen minutes is odd. (I am a nurse, and I’ve never heard that specifically.) If you’re finding that hard to do, or likely, interfering with resting and getting in fluids and causing anxiety, I would probably get up every hour instead and walk around for say, five minutes around your house. When you’re awake and laying down or sitting pump your feet back and forth a few times. Wiggle your toes back and forth. If you want to see if that would be a safe option give your team a call! I’m sure they would give you their approval!

    sending you a speedy recovery!

When I got home, I did my normal chores which is about 4K steps a day. I did my usual cleaning and have my beloved cats to take care of. They didn't care if I had surgery or not. lol

First of all, take a deep breath. Allowing yourself to fall into an anxiety spiral is NOT helpful to your healing and recovery.
Next, TRUST YOUR TEAM. They are there for a reason, they are the experts. They have the knowledge and experience and education. I promise you, they have FAR better advice for you than a random bunch of strangers on the internet. Follow their guidelines - if they say 1 minute per 15, then that is what they want you to do. If you feel good and want to do 2 minutes, sure that's fine! But worrying yourself into walking for hours on end is not helpful or healthy.
And yes, you need to be mindful of your hydration. Sit down, drink some Water with electrolytes, and call your team if you have any concerns.

I like that. I got myself a mountain bike after losing 40 kg and as soon as I was confident I could ride one. Good luck with the surgery and achieving your goals.

Last night, I felt something that only existed in the lives of other fat people? My stomach fat has fallen down and a rash has started !
I need revision based on 2 hernias and GERD! I stopped fighting for my revision due to moving, starting a new job and depression. My former bartric surgeon stated, "you need a robotic revision." He was no help at all. As of today, my new PCP has referred me to a specialist.
Now, it's just a matter of how do I pay for it. I have insurance but is a tangled mess. It will get done. I am just holding on and doing the paperwork. One day at a time.

So I never post on here because my meals thus far have been like a cooked veggie pattie, Protein Shake, pieces of fish or deli meat etc that never look appetizing. But this meal I was like, “yeah, this qualifies” 🤣

And I ate every bite 🥰

I've been bringing my kids for the past few years to a place called Urban Air, it's basically an indoor amusement park, it's a lot of fun. Unfortunately, a lot of the coolest things to do there have a weight limit, 250 for some and 230 for others, so I was never able to join them on those rides.
Even though I passed both thresholds a few months ago I never felt comfortable going on them until tonight I decided to give it a shot.
I ended up doing ALL of the stuff I couldn't go on before, including the "Sky Rider" (indoor zipline, it was awesome), Ropes Course, and Rock Climbing. Lots of fun, and another great NSV.

Go to the doctor. The dark sticky poop may mean you're bleeding somewhere in your stomach/intestines. GERD is just acid in the esophagus, which burns and feels uncomfortable, but doesn't include 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 or 9. I suffered from it acutely for the best part of two decades before WLS.
Hiatal hernias can definitely make you feel uncomfortably full, short of breath and very burpy.
But go to a doctor asap. No one on here will be able to do much beyond guess and that won't help anyway.
