  1. Check-in everyone. How is everyone feeling today??? I am in my 8th day post-operative RNY and Hiatal Hernia repair. I feel as if I had done 100000000...abdominal crunches ?? So I took a morning ride in my car ? nope not recommend lol. Overall I am meeting my daily fluid intake and proteins thus far. Writing ? everything down. Using a timer to remind me to take fluids every 15 minutes Doing 60ml = 2 fluids oz that's a total of 8 oz an hour. This is just me. My wife was not able to keep it down so is going to be different for everyone.
  2. @Lifestyle Changer wishing speedy recovery. keeping you in my prayers it will get better ❤️‍?
  3. @erica1030 thank you for sharing it takes courage to seek help. Besides the marvelous counsel, you have gotten from our fellows. It also seems you may be experiencing some anxiety. Create a support line, I have been sober for 6 years from alcohol and other stuff. Why do I bring this is because my personality and behaviors is left unchecked could and have become addictive just like the one you express. Having said this I am no saying you have an addiction or a behavior my point is that I can understand your worrisome. I have a great support system put in place. I am in my 7 day post-op and I am meeting my daily liquids and protein, but because of this I thought ? I can do more when really I can't. My support system is Overeating Anonymous, I have a psychologist, a shrink and another counselor. I do 2 sessions of therapy a week do meetings etc. Hope my share could help you and bring hope
  4. @Smanky I totally agreed with you 100%. If you do not have a support line you will drown. Thank you for sharing and I am happy to read is going great for you. Is really strange I am in my 6 day post-op and I do not have any pain only discomfort.
  5. @lizonaplane it can truly be a dilemma. I have not yet been in your position, however I can share that planning ahead has help me when I follow thru. But I am stubborn at times lol ?. I have a huge support system, I do Over Eaters Anonymous they have a lots of meetings online, I love this forum. Besides my wife who did her’s gastric bypass 2 years ago. I am feeling happy with the decision I made, I though to meet must of the requirements with liquids since I do not feel hungry I found the dumping syndrome way of being to full though.
  6. The reason I am creating this thread is solely for support. I know by 1st hand how intimidating this process can be. With the mere thought of should ldl do it? I can tell you that I was not a walk in the ballpark. But I am so happy I took this decision. Today I am 5 days RNY AND hiatal hernia repair post-op. I feel fatigued, yet happy. Sore, yet excited. I can use many more adjectives. Please share and ask.
  7. @catwoman7 thank you for your kind words.

  10. 3 days post op still in the hospital with ? ?fever Fluoroscopy, CT w/contrast, Venus ultrasound was done on both of my legs, c-diff panel. Heart Rate above 115. Today I am doing better. They have ruled out leakage, peritonitis, sepsis, A bit worry but I know each body responses very different after surgery. Has similar reaction when my gallbladder was remove. No pain though able to walk freely around the ward, bathroom is not an issue. Cramps because of the gas but other than that ok hopefully the next 24 hours are decisive and taking antibiotics as of yesterday I do not regret going Thru all this I know my health is going to be way better as time goes by as long as I follow my team’s direction. Has anyone else had similar or any complications that they wish to share.
  11. @Cookie.Monster My gallbladder was remove prior my gastric bypass last year to exact. The pain I had from that surgery was greater than my gastric bypass and hiatal hernia. To my surprise the risks are a bit higher than gastric bypass. I had low grade fevers for like 10 days, felt my upper quadrant if as someone had punch ? a million times, I did manage though. Hope you feel ok ? just talk to your surgeon ?‍⚕️ and speedy recovery
  12. Thank for the words of encouragement
