"Shrinko De Mayo" Weight Loss Challenge
When I signed up for the challenge it was mid-April already. Maybe I should have made my goal 7 lbs instead of 10. Whatever, it doesn't matter either way...cuz i've lost 3 lbs so far and I can feel there's more to come this month. I have a fill on May 1st and want to lose 2 more by then. We'll see Keep up all the hard work everyone.

Post-Fill Protocol
My doc says 24-48 hours of liquid...then mushy..then back to solid. Check with your doctor

"Shrinko De Mayo" Weight Loss Challenge
I want to lose 10 pounds by May 5th. I'm losing slowly and I go for a fill on the first so it would be nice to have a good loss. Stephanie

are you supposed to be on liquids or mushies after getting saline removed?
I had a slight unfill recently and she told me to do liquids for a day to allow for the adjustment. I did what she told me. Good luck

Just need to vent at how slow this process is.
That is precisely the reason I didn't tell many people (noone I work with) and even the few I've told I almost wish I hadn't. I had the LB 9/25/08 and I've lost about 25 lbs. It's a 1b/week which they say is good but I'd like more per week. No matter what I will keep going and you will too. The journey has just begun and it's not about finishing fast....just reaching that healthy weight for each one of us.

Words of Discouragement?
Well, my aunt wishes me well, tells me that she hopes it works and that she knows people and they all gained the weight back. Gee, thanks for the pep talk. LOL I figure that she doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. And if those friends gained weight back I'm guessing they were bypass people. Even the most well-intentioned people sometimes make the stupidest comments. Just stick to your guns and not let it get to you. I know that each time my aunt sees me she's only thinking "gee, she doesn't look like she lost much. I knew it wouldn't work". And my attitude...I just don't care about the naysayers andjust stick to my program day-after-day.

Lap Band, Sept 08..??
I just had fill #4 on Friday and hope this is the one that will give me the restriction I need. Keep your fingers crossed.

Nintendo thinks I'm sexy!
I love my Wii Fit too. I bought the Jillian game and I don't like tho. Its not made by Nintendo and I just don't think it works well. Just my 2 cents. Not worth the 39.95 I paid for it. The balance games are fun and without you knowing it they work the core muscles. I played like a zillion games where you have to get the little ballie in the holes and the next day my stomach was so sore. oops. Maybe i went overboard. LOL Like someone said, mines got a little dust on it...but here, in NY, I have a snow day so maybe I'll get in a little step aerobics today. Enjoy!

Lap Band, Sept 08..??
I was also banded in September and its been a slow loss. I've lost about 25 pounds now in 5 months. Yes, I wish it was more BUT I knew going into this that 1) the loss is supposed to be like 1-2 lbs/week and not tons like gastric bypass and 2) it may take a few fills to feel good restriction. Normally I'd be very upset but I figure my weight's going down and I don't care how slow. I feel better...don't feel like I'm starving all the time and can't get enough to eat. There's no more binge/starve cycle and I'm healthier for it. Keep the faith. You're doing great.

finally..a little progress!
Slow loser...me too!! I was banded 9/25/08 and lost 12 lbs in 6 weeks, then 7, then 8, then 9...still at 12 lbs on week 12! It took a long time for me to get to 20 and at 5 months I've lost 23!!! In the past, I would have given up and blown it! Not now...this is a new life for me. It will come off in its own way. All I know is that it's 23 pounds I didn't gain. I can't wait for 6 months, 1 year, etc. Congrats!!!!

Hi, new here--How to get 5-year weight history when I haven't gone to a doctor ...
Do you know you're approximate weights???? If so, type them up in a chronological order and see if your PCP or any doctor would just sign that. Maybe that would work. I had a list of dates and weights over the years and that was enough. Good luck

2/7/09 They're Back!
There's a 100 Cal pack of grasshopper cookies...they taste just like the thin mints...they are a savior for me.

5 yr weight history..ugh
I compiled a list of my weights over the years myself...and typed it up. I had joined and rejoined WW so many times and had all those cards. That was sufficient. I knew my weights almost every year since I was 16. Not a problem

Bodybugg users report here!
After a week of having mine...I loved it already. Broke through a weight loss slump. Unfortunately, something's wrong with mine. It doesn't hold the charge. I'm dealing with tech support and hopefully, they are sending me a new one. I hope it's not because I'm using a Mac.

Bodybugg users report here!
So...I got my BB wednesday evening and wore it that night...yup, to bed...and it said i burn like 500 cals just sleeping. How interesting?! Anyway, I had some trouble with the digital display...it kept saying out of sync or can't find the arm band. I was starting to wonder if I wasted my money. But, 3 days later, and I've got it working all in sync. Yay! I pushed myself to get off the couch and exercise....did the WiiFit for like 45 min and today I actually hauled myself to the gym. So to summarize...I think I love this thing. I am so motivated now and think this was a big key for me and my band. Steph

How do you keep track of weight loss?
I have a Tanita scale because it also tells you % Water. I know my weight can fluctuate because of holding onto water so it relieves me to know when my water weight is high. There are many different models but in general, they are great IMHO.

Singles Meet-N-Greet
41/ f/ ny (long island) would definitely be interested in meeting friends with LB, single men who could understand (maybe lead to more) or just email buddies. I love the support here. Stephanie

Bodybugg users report here!
I ordered my bodybugg and it's due to arrive via UPS on Wednesday. Yay....I can't wait. I'm curious how many calories I burn doing nothing as a couch potato right now. LOL. And sleeping too...that should be interesting to know. Then, I"m hoping the motivation will kick in....I can't wait. How many people have the new version 3 with the digital display thingy??? Stephanie

Bodybugg users report here!
I just ordered a bodybugg and I can't wait to get it and start using it. I was banded 9/25/08 and my loss has been slow. I know its a learning process and I'm learning everyday. The one thing I know I've been slackin' on is the exercise so I was hoping that seeing what my true intake is vs. my calorie burn would help me get motivated!! Hoping this thread will be a good support for using my new tool. The bandsters here are the greatest.

For those wondering about flying...
I just got back from a trip and I was worried about going through the metal detectors and having to explain or get wanded during the holiday crowds. No problem. And no problem with tightening on the flight either. Everything went smoothly coming and going.

1st fill loss to 2nd fill?
I stayed the same from fill #1 to fill #2. I thought I would have lost about 3 but I stayed the same. I think I was bloated...PMS. But like someone else said I keep going up n down the same 3 pounds....I'm waiting for a drop. I just keep taking it one meal at a time....and I know it will happen. I'm at the low end of the loss column but I keep thinkin 'bout the bigger picture....this is a lifelong change that I am making.

September bandsters
I was banded on 9/25 and I lost 12 lbs in the first 6 weeks, had a fill, and then in the next 4 weeks didn't lose anything. #2 fill and now at 11 weeks i'm still at 12 lbs. I feel like I'm retaining Water cuz I thought I'd go down 3 more lbs. I'm just being patient cuz I know i'm eating right and it WILL come off. Right now, I think I feel a little bit of restriction but can mostly eat a little too much so I'm really trying to make myself stop. All n all, a great learning process and I'm in this for the long haul. There are people who've lost MUCH more than me but I'm trying not to compare. I've always been a slow loser so why should I expect any different. Keepin' the faith Stephanie
