Is the online different than the iPhone version?? I just can't see how to get friends. I click on friends and it says that i don't have any....lol Thx Stephanie

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

I've now lost from 260 to 209... 51 pounds since January 11. It's the most i've ever lost. So far the bypass and me get along well. I'll post pictures if anyone is interested. Teri Glad you are finally doing well teri!! Tomorrow is 2 1/2 years since my banding and I have finally made it to 199 and a 56 lb loss. Yay!! It's been slow and a few bumps along the way but well worth it. I feel great, am taking kickboxing 3X/week and recently started training to do a 100mile bike ride in June!!!! Like someone said....WTG Samurais!!!

The FDA just pulled Meridia so I hope you're not taking it. Heart problems and stroke as side effects and they finally admitted it

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

The end of the this week will be my 2 year bandiversary (9/25/08) and I have been a slow loser. I really wanted to hit a milestone of 50 lbs but it's not looking like that will be happening. I'm hovering around 44 lbs or so. When I look back at my weight loss history, I hardly EVER lost and i've GAINED at all the major diets..how the heck is that possible. On a dr. supervised diet i only lost 15 pounds in nearly 2 years also. Soooooooo, I'm thrilled to say I lost 44 lbs and I will continue until I lose ALL I want to lose!! Ive had my troubles, its been an up n down but overall, only success is coming my way. That's my mantra and I have to stick to it. Sorry for those who had to get rid of their band..i was worried recently and had an unfill..i gained a few pounds but I'm going back for a little refill...maybe not as much as before but i am definitely not at restriction now.
  7. To me....that's how I got to 250 lbs...so I think it's a brilliant idea!!! Stop the gaining while you can. I understand. But insurance companies are a whole other thing. You may be able to find a doctor to do it (if you can sell it and pay for it too). I don't think you are crazy. I wish I could have stopped my trend of gaining a little at a time year after year. I wish you luck!

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

Hi everyone...I was also banded on 9/25/08 and have lost around 40 lbs. I"m not completely happy with the amount but wouldn't trade my band for anything. The alternative (gaining even more) would not have been an option. I've floundered with my exercising...and my eating. I'm at 6.0 in a 10.0 cc band and haven't had a fill in the last 2x. I thought maybe this is the right spot, but I don't know. Recently, I had a couple of bad incidences after eating a small amount of food. Each time I go to my dr's appt they say i'm "doing fine" so I just don't know. I know this is a learning curve and when i look at the last 16 months I KNOW without a doubt that I've made positive changes in my life and if i just stick with it day-to-day the weight will come off.

    single banded ny'ers out there

Good luck with your band. I'm coming up on my year bandiversary and I wouldn't change a thing. It's been slow going for me and quite a learning curve to boot. This website has been invaluable to me as a support. I'm 42, single and from long island. Stephanie

    1 year since surgery

I'm one month away from a year and I'd be thrilled with 52. right now I'm under the 1 lb/week average..but hey, its pounds that are gone forever. I had about a 12 week plateau but i stuck with it and finally broke through. Just keep up the day-to-day following of your program and you will get through. And Celebrate your accomplishments!!! 52 lbs gone is great!!!

    Delayed reaction???

It takes me about 2-3 weeks to feel the effects of my fills. And once i was too tight and had a slight unfill. That could be happening to you too. call your doctor as a precaution. Are you getting stuck??

Weight loss surgeries of the future?

How do you have 6cc in a 4 cc band? I've herd something like that before but don't understand. One thing as far as the future...this is out now I believe...it the single incision placement of the band. Wow..that must be nice.
  18. I woke up this morning to read this post and this is soooo what I need. I read the blog and joined (i think) but couldn't figure out how to make a comment there. Anyway, good luck. I'm in it with you. Stephanie

    Good Restriction..then NONE!!!

i understand what you are going through. I had better restriction with fill #2 than #3 then too much with #4 and #5 took weeks after the fill to feel the effects. There's no rhyme or reason for how the fills affects us. Maybe it hasn't "hit" you yet but it will. I was about to call for another fill when on the 18th day post-fill I felt restriction. Just my experience. Good luck

    Normal? Ups and Downs?

The same thing happens to me ( i like Jachut's way of putting it..it makes sense) but it doesn't bother me as much because I know it's about Water fluctuations. I have a Tanita scale which shows the % water in addition to how much I weigh. When the weight is up it's usually because I'm retaining water. I figure if I take it one meal at a time...eat right...it WILL come off slowly...and that's ok with me.

    First Fill on 5/13...Feeling Nothing!

I had a fill on May 1st and was worried because I still wasn't feeling anything...well, whammo....I finally feel restricted today. Mine seem to take 2 1/2 weeks to feel the effects. go figure. Hold on. It will work
  23. snzgetsfit

    I need help PleasE :o(

i think you're loss is great. think of this...if it's about 6 months and you've lost like 30 lbs that is 60 at the end of a year. You're pace is great...keep going.

    Letter Of Medical Necessity

I had the same problem...everything in except this "letter". Follow what the previous poster said....they will sign for you. They just haven't a clue about all this "stuff"
  25. I did experience some sharp pains at random times in my port area after having surgery. They were sharp and quick and went away fast. They told me it was part of my body healing. If yours get worse or is prolonging...don't hesitate to call your doctor or go in sooner than your appt. Good luck
