Sick and week dizzy nausea muscle cramps and pain
If you’re deficient, ask your doc for 50,000 IU per week for twelve weeks, then take between 2,000-5,000 each day. That worked for me.

When does it get better!?
It does. Soon you won’t even remember this phase.

Congratulations! You look happy!

Help
Romaine and iceberg are allowed on my soft foods diet since they’re mostly water. Every plan is so different.

All I can eat is 2 bites
I’m three weeks out from vsg and I can manage a whole egg, half a burger patty, or about 4 ounces of fish. I’m told it gets better but take advantage of this honeymoon phase!

No energy at all!
While it’s certainly normal to not be at 100% after surgery, feeling dizzy was on my list of symptoms to contact my doctor about. It never hurts just to be on the safe side.

Protein drinks
I bought the Protein20 from Costco and they were so bad I returned them! The taste was odd, very much like chemicals. I hope you have a better experience.

June 21 2021 surgery!
Congrats on your surgery date!
-
Sunlight and heat
No, I love warm weather and sunshine! It makes me feel energized.

When did you start losing hair?
I recommend Viviscal Pro and oral minoxidil for hair loss!

May Surgeries - check in!
It’s progress not perfection we’re seeking. Be gentle with yourself. You’re back on track and focused again.

May Surgeries - check in!
Three week stall, look it up!
-
Is it possible....
Not likely. Do you have a gym or clinic where you can get an accurate weight?

VSG 6/3/21
We’re surgery twins! I hope it gets easier for you. Our new normal is an adjustment for sure, but keep focused on your “why.”

Cranky, and irritable with my spouse
Life is too short to follow arbitrary rules. “The easy way out according to whom”? There are no rules. We’re all making the best decisions for ourselves for our one life. When your children remember you or when you’re 90 and thinking about your life, I highly doubt feeling self-conscious in a bathing suit is going to be something of significance. My advice to you, easier said than done, is to live your life for yourself. Because nothing else really matters.

Dairy-Free Protein Shakes?
Orgain is the best plant-based protein on the market!

Question QTNA
I’m three weeks out, have tolerated every food I have eaten, have no trouble with liquids or pills, have never vomited or been nauseous. I think for most people that’s the norm. Good luck!

Anyone mess up on puree diet and not die?
Grits are on my approved list! You have a stomach (albeit much smaller), stomach acids, and a digestive system. You’ll be fine. Besides, no two bariatric surgeons ever agree on recovery protocols.

Protein drinks
Yes! Syntrax Nectar, Orgain, Fairlife…they’re quick and easy!
-
Anybody not working out??
I was told swimming was fine after two weeks!
-
VSG 6/3/21
It varies for everyone but I had to buy Crystal Light, Syntrax Nectar, and Isopure to get my water in the first few days. You’ll turn an immediate corner very soon! Hopefully your doc can prescribe some anti-nausea medicine. Congrats on the surgery!

Favorite Grocery Products
Rao’s (pronounced ray-ohs) is the best sauce and the only jarred marinara we use. Their arrabiata (spicy sauce) is wonderful but their regular marinara is also fantastic!

Surgery was aborted.
I’m sure you mean well, but telling someone who just essentially had their dreams shattered and is recovering from surgical pain (with no surgery) is not likely going to research cognitive behavioral theory.

Good Sources of Carbs
Very helpful, thanks!
