  3. Wow, You look amazing. A true transformation. Well done
  4. Yes I feel the same, I have waited a long time for this chance. Bring it on.
  5. So, Today is my last day of eating the way I do. Tomorrow, I start a 21 day pre op diet. Milk , non starchy veg and yoghurt. For my last evening meal I had braised oxtail with mashed potatoes and gravy. What did everyone else have ?
  6. Congratulations, you have done amazing. I dont know what to think about robotic surgeons. Its a bit like driverless trains and pilotless airplanes. If I were having that procedure, I dont want to know until after the event. Keep walking and everything will improve.
  7. I just want to be amongst people again and not feel so fat. I am staying home too much these days
  8. What does your doctor allow you and for how long ? Big hugs. I am in your place next week
  9. My preop diet starts on the 3rd of November for 3 weeks. I have given it lots of thought while I waited. I am allowed veg, milk and yogurt. My go to, will be Thai soups and salads. I have bought in lots of water noodles as they are only 4 cals a packet. I like them better than courgetti. They do fill you up. When I get fed up of those I will have soups - carrot and coriander, mushroom and onion are favourite's . Then there is vegetable curries with cauliflower rice. I have had a lot of time on these pages and will use all the knowledge I have picked up. Onwards and downwards
  10. Isn't that a wonderful NSV Enjoy your well earned vacation
  11. I have itchy legs and bumpy skin. I never thought not eating enough protein was the cause. I blamed washing powders and soaps. Who knew. Every day is a learning day. Cheers
  12. It varies if you read enough of these posts. One lady had 12hours fasting. Lots have1 or 2 weeks. Mine is 3 weeks of 3 pints of milk, two veg meals and 2 pieces of fruit . I can also have coffee. One person, I read had 4 weeks of slim fast only. Every doctor has their own 'recipe' Please let me know how you get on
  13. Hurrah finally a group that I can fit in. I was the 10th but got bumped back to 24th. That did rock me a bit but I am over that now. As long as I dont get bumped again ....
  14. Hello Lady Godiva, To try and answer your question, I believe blood tests will tell if your liver is small and non fatty. I think this is what they are after. So leaving off fatty carbs and sugar should get you there If my surgery date doesn't move back again, early next month, I will begin 3 weeks of skim Milk, non carby vegetables, 1 yogurt and two pieces of fruit a day[ any fruit] . Thankfully I can have coffee with caffeine too. I am worried about the length of time that I need do this but I want this surgery over and done with so badly I would probably do longer
  15. Its a very hard read. People more knowledgeable than me can help you. I just want to send you a hug because your story has touched my heart
  16. You need information quick, So much stuff is not getting done because of Covid in this country. You will need to be proactive and wade through the receptionists. Start with your own doctors surgery, Other options are ringing the hospital you had your surgery and ask for your surgeons secretary. Be insistent and say you have been left without follow up treatment or information. Last option ? Call 111. You should always be given a 6 week follow up appointment when you leave hospital. Covid is no excuse
  17. Congrats on getting your date. I got the news yesterday that I just got dumped back 14 days. So my surgery is 7 days after you. It will be the first time that I am thinner after Christmas. What are your pre op requirements ?
  18. You look so happy and healthy, Congratulations.
  19. Congratulations on being on the other side. Rest up, recuperate and please keep us informed of your downward progress.
  20. Do we have scammers on this site ? This person posts strange and random conditions
  21. We all start at the same point. It doesn't matter what you weigh. That last pound is too much for ourselves. We give ourselves a chance to change our eating habits by having bariatric surgery. What would you like advice about ?
  22. Hi Mel, I am in the UK too, Every surgeon is so different. I have read thousands of these post on here and there is no rhyme or reason for most. Like someone else stated - they need to do some research and not stick a pin in the list to find the pre op diet. It does seem brutal to make you do 6 weeks of 800 cals but I figure we will go through any hoop to get the surgery at this stage. Speak to the dietician at the hospital. We are paying loads of money to get this done, you dont need to be nauseous. Is the foods you are eating now very different to before - You might be having withdrawal symptoms. I have read they are bad. I hope you get sorted. Hugs
  23. To make it worse we live in a flat. No garden space. The furthest I went was to the bathroom. I dream of the laughter and fun we used to have pre panini at Zumba and Aquafit. These classes are still off limits
  24. I have to do your pre op diet too. What recipes have you come up with ? I was thinking I might try Thai salads, Thai soups. zucchini, aubergines and green beans in a good homemade tomato sauce. A curry. Any hints would be welcome because I am more worried about this part than the surgery
