  1. Hello Breanna and #Ashbash88 Welcome in the forum and good luck with your surgeries. It's great to meet you both
  2. I had my surgery in the pandemic. It should have been a 4 month wait but ended up being 8. It broke me at times but the information I gained while waiting and reading back pages of this forum really set me up for success. I knew exactly what to expect. In the New year the time will fly for you. You will be so busy getting your house ready [ nesting] and then doing your pre-op diet. I made broths for the freezer and bought a mixture of foods for the early days like instant porridge and a variety of protein yogurts etc. Being older and disabled at the time I didnt have much energy while recovering so was really glad of this prep work.
  3. Is thin shaming as bad as fat shaming? oh yes. These are our bodies, we have done the work and when we say we are done, we are done with loosing. No-one else should have any input. I always believe in this - If you cannot say anything good then keep your trap shut
  4. Welcome to the very best forum. Sounds like you are doing real well. Trust the process and wait for the next stall.
  5. So glad that you can feel you can rant on here. Mother in laws are not teddy bears are they. They forget where they are in the pecking order. It's your home and she's trying to be dominant. Eventually one of you will have to leave and I hope your husband comes to his senses. He needs to see that you don't need this stress in your life, especially when you are trying to heal. You have enough new stuff to deal with without this going on You could get locks as others have said or buy your food daily and cook it. OR tell hubby he has a month to deal with this woman or else you are off out of it. I wish I could hug you.
  6. The olive oil bottle is so cute. I love stinky blue cheese, so would have eaten that.
  7. Everyone has these pre op nerves, we just would not be human if we didn't. I was so ready for the surgery and so sick of the pre op diet that I couldn't get to the theatre quick enough. The night before however I didn't sleep too well but I told myself to pull up my big girl pants and said bye for now to my family with a lump in my throat. Its safe surgery now adays.
  8. The English is pretty bad. There are 14 pounds in a stone ?? so 20 stone 47 pounds = 23 stone 5lbs. I think this is more an advert for a hospital that has had some bad publicity lately than a real account
  9. Your post made me heave, so sorry. I have had a long aversion to anything vinegary since Gall bladder surgery aged 17. Just thinking about you eating pickles did a number on me. I used to love them; it was a family thing. I would eat sliced pickles on bread and butter for any meal. Never had one since. Even Ketchup and Tomato soup make me heave because of the vinegar content. I half hoped for a miracle to happen when I had this surgery, but my stomach still says no to vinegar. Lucky, lucky you
  10. Also your blood pressure may be on the low side. I felt like this until I came off my medication to lower mine. Stand up slowly and walk carefully until you can get this sorted
  11. Hello and nice to meet you here. We all had the same worries pre surgery. I thought maybe I was too heavy and old to be considered and others because their BMI was in the lower ranges. Its very normal You have illnesses that will go in your favour when they consider you as a candidate so don't worry about that. You will also throw them off pretty quick after your surgery, win win
  12. Congratulations, you are looking so well and super happy. Go gym bunny go!
  13. If I have a meat and veg/ salad type meal for my evening meal, I will go back to it and finish it later. I have still no room for potato, rice or pasta but love veg so I recon its ok and helps get my protein in. Later I will have a sugar free ice lolly. If I am hungry 2 hours before bedtime, 10pm, I will have either milk, protein pudding or cheese and fruit to help once more with my protein levels. My calories are still low, so my team say its ok
  14. It depends a lot on your pre op diet, everybody has a different one. Also, people react to surgery differently. I had diarrhoea from the moment I woke after surgery. It lasted 2 long days and nights. Even now I only go once or twice a week with the help of some anti constipation meds
  15. I used straws from the get-go, no problems. I could only take small sips so did not problems with gas
  16. I can drink before food now, but still have a big restriction so sometimes its hours till I can drink afterwards.
  17. Congratulations, its a wonderful feeling isn't it. Next goal, 100 pounds off, is just around your next corner
  18. I am struggling to loose as well. In the last 2.5 months I have only lost about 4 pounds. I still have a have a big restriction so getting a different calorie count would be difficult. Apart from a small amount of fruit carbs and a odd slice of bread, my carb count is low. I think I must be in the slow loss phase now. Upping exercise would be a cruelty to me. I am so cold already, going out walking more than I do, we are going into the miserable dark, wet, cold, windy part of Winter and I hate it with a passion. Going swimming is not an option as I have so much loose skin now, I would be more embarrassed than when I was 333 pounds. I am considering the gym but its not my thing. Excuses, excuses, I know. I am going to see my dieticians early next month so will see what they have to say. I always think its something that I am doing wrong rather than right. I love this skinny woman that I have become but I would like to get under 200 pounds also. Onederland is so close, I can see the finish line ......
  19. Hello and welcome to this forum. Keep us posted on your progress
  20. I don't know what to say, I hope that lady is not on this site. I am so happy that you are happy with your results
  21. I can't add anything that others have not stated before me. We all suffered through it the best way we could, its brutal. You will do it with the end in your mind at all times. I believe we are all frightened to deviate because of the few people who have had their operations stopped mid surgery because their livers were still too large to do the surgery safely. It is your last week; the time will fly. Good luck
  22. So very sorry to hear this, poor you. I hope the worst is behind you now. Seven weeks immobile is awful, I know your pain. Hugs
  23. You seem to have cracked it. It looks like you will be eating fruit for your snacks. Good luck on beginning your weight loss journey
  24. I have never been able to eat much at one sitting so I have 4 or 5 small meals a day. Breakfast -100gms of protein yogurt and a large latte Lunch - 25gms cheese, 25 grams deli meat and a satsuma or cucumber and tomato or 1 slice of super seeded bread with ham and soft cheese A homemade milk shake Supper - 50 gms meat, 2 tbsp veg and gravy. Or 150 gms chicken curry with a tiny salad or 100 gms fish with a sauce and a tbsp of veg. I am still unable to eat pasta and rice and have never liked potato products, Supper 2 - I will eat any leftover food from my earlier supper plate then have a low cal ice lolly. I am a lolly addict. I openly admit it. If I have room and need more protein, I will have a protein pudding or 25 gms of cheese and a piece of fruit I record about 60 - 80 grams of protein a day and 900 - 1200 calories a day. At the end of this month, I am 1 year out. I am trying to up my protein and calories because when I have a busy day, I get very tired. I am one of the lucky ones, I have little appetite
