  1. I would think it’s okay to just drink milk sometimes but it would depend on if your team has a minimum calorie goal they want you to be on. I always did a protein shake for breakfast cause I’m not really hungry in the mornings. Still do.
  2. I somehow dodged that one but I hear about it from so many people on here. It’s very common. The consensus seems to be that there isn’t much you can do about it but wait it out. Taking your vitamins and getting in protein of course help some but my team says that those hair regrow products won’t speed up the process. For females, extensions would be a fun way to add volume.
  3. This is difficult for me as well. I eat when I am board yet I really don’t have any hobbies that I enjoy doing. But I know what I do like is learning new things and helping others. I was waiting on COVID to go away but had decided that I want to volunteer somewhere. I am now thinking that COVID is never going to go away so idk what to do. Anyways, volunteering is a great way to keep busy and it makes you feel good to help others. Also, if you are a senior you can audit college classes for cheap or free (I can’t remember which). I wish I was old enough to do that. I love school.
  4. The post op diet stages are pretty important. It’s not just about weight loss but about protecting your healing tummy. It sounds like you got lucky that nothing bad happened this time but depending on how that went down it could’ve cause some serious issues that landed you in the hospital. I wouldn’t beat yourself cause what’s done is done but definitely don’t do it again. It’s seriously NOT worth it.
  5. That is amazing. So happy for you.
  6. I was lower BMI and I had several stalls. They get more frequent the closer you get to a healthy weight.
  7. That’s amazing. Good for you!!
  8. The loss slows to an absolute crawl the closer you get to your bodies happy weight. I wouldn’t give up though just yet.
  9. Ooh man. Being sick is the pits but being sick while caring for someone else is even worse. I hope you both feel better real soon.
  10. Can you maybe leave a bike at work or bring it with you and ride it during breaks or your lunch hour?? Not sure what vehicle you have or if your work would let you leave it there. Just a thought.
  11. Sounds like you are already ahead of where I was at your stage. I didn’t realize that I had disordered eating patterns until post surgery (I eat when board and emotional eating) and I wish I had realized this and got started working on it beforehand like you are. The only real advice I can give is that we are all here to answer questions and cheer you on but your journey will be very much unique. Just don’t compare yourself to others too much.
  12. Hopefully the OP has worked this out by now but I will add for others. I took colace every day post surgery but I still got constipated so I took milk of magnesia once to get things moving and then started benefiber daily to keep them going. Walmart had a generic powder of benefiber that worked just fine for me and is much cheaper and I just needed a spoonful each morning in my crystal light until I got up to about a full serving size of food and then I was able to wean off of it. Some people do need it indefinitely though.
  13. Absolutely no judgement. You are going through alot of changes and everyone’s body responds different. I would reach out to your prescribing dr and see if you would benefit from an antidepressant. I have bipolar so I have been on one for years but before the bipolar manifested I was on one for situational depression when my grandfather died when I was in college. I don’t know for certain if it will help in this circumstance or they may say it’s not necessary but it couldn’t hurt to ask.
  14. I was 5’8” 235 and no real medical issue. Knee pain was just starting with exercise. I could see how it was going to snowball though and wanted to nip it in the bud. I didn’t lose as much as I hoped (dr warned me though that people with bipolar do not always lose as much) but even still I am so glad I did the surgery. It’s Amazon how much difference over 50 pounds makes. The knee pain is gone and the most important thing is that I am no longer gaining which I was steadily doing every year.
  15. I had my surgery on the states but they didn’t do anything to check my stomach. All I had was bloodwork and psyc exam. Then morning of the surgery I told them I had heart murmur as a child and they did A quick EKG.
  16. Looks like I missed this one since your appointment should have passed. For others I will add that mine too was sorta a joke. I have a psychologist and psychiatrist so I sorta knew what to expect. I just don’t feel like he asked that many questions. Regardless, both my other doctors who have known me for years were on board with my surgery. Maybe that’s why he wasn’t too concerned?? Anyways, how did yours go?
  17. You already said your restriction is still there. That’s all you need to get back on track. You’ve got this.
  18. Congrats. Glad to hear you are doing well. Just keep trying and you will get to that liquid goal but like arabesque said you are closer than you think.
  19. I think there are more people with little to no pain we think. You see more from people who are having issues because they need help with those issues. No real reason to post about everything going great.
  20. Congratulations on your surgery date.
  21. I agree with doing your research. I have not heard of a lot of people who are doing that procedure and My surgeon didn’t even offer it. Gotta be a reason for that.
  22. I am not sure what ideal body weight is but I hoped to reach a “normal” bmi but wasn’t able to. I was warned that I may not be able to with bipolar disorder. Statistically, people with bipolar disorder tend to lose a little less. I am close though. I think normal bmi was 164 and I got to 169 then bounced back to 179.
  23. Yea two weeks is a long time but just think about the weight you will lose that you don’t have to lose after.
