  1. Welcome to LBT! Good luck on your journey!
  2. Sending positive vibes your way!!! I have fed bcbs and it took about 2 weeks to get approved. Good luck
  3. They just asked pre or post op and let me right in. There were a lot of empty seats. Have a good fourth everyone!
  4. Have you tried gas x strips? They were my best friend. Also there are many of us bandsters who have gas pains months after surgery. Just remember keep walking, try the strips and if it continues see your surgeon. good luck to you
  5. Welcome to LBT! Have you tried to drink crystal light, to get more water in. Also can you take any breaks, like instead of cigarette breaks you take a quick water break and go outside? Also as far as sweets have you tried sugar free jello, pudding, popsicles, and fudgeicles(Spelling?). These are just a few ideas. Good luck to you!
  6. It already passed. I went and had not signed up. It was a very informative meeting but VERY small. I think the next meeting is Monday.
  7. I'm still working on hitting my sweet spot. I'm having a fill tommorow, hopefully it will do the trick. Good luck to you!
  8. You have no restriction right now because you have no fill yet. This is the period they call bandster hell because it is the period between surgery and first fill , where you really have to buckle down and follow the rules even though you are still hungry. Good luck and it does get better.
  9. Congrats on the weightloss, thats awesome! And welcome to LBT
  10. I also had a very high bmi when I decided to get banded. The only difference I had then other bandsters was I needed lose 20 lbs before my surgery. Good luck to you and I hope your journey is wonderful!
  11. Hi Lalida, I have almost been in the same boat as you as well. I have been overweight since I was about 6 years old, and those of you who have been overweight know how awful children can be about it. I finally decided when I was 20 that enough is enough, and talked to my pcp about it. He has been nothing but supportive , in fact he is the one who personally called my surgeon and got me the quickest appt. I am very lucky that I have the support from my doctors that I do. With that said, you should find a doc that will help you in any way like it was said before. This is your health so be an advocate for it. Have you met with any surgeons yet? Search around this site I am sure there are others who have the same situation going on, and we can all help in supporting you. So good luck, and don't give up. The band was the best thing I ever did and I am so glad I got control of my life young, and I hope you do to!
  12. I agree, maybe seeing someone else who can give you their opinion of what is going on will help. I'm sorry things are going that way for you but try to stay positive. Keep your head up and all of us posted ! Good luck
  13. Hi Andy, welcome to LBT. I wish you luck as it will probably be very difficult to get approved for this as you are so young. Good luck and please keep us updated!
  14. Welcome Jon and congrats on the start of a happier and healthier you!

  16. Hi, I do not have asthma but I decided to do a little search for you. I think this might give you some info. Good luck! SpringerLink - Journal Article
  17. I really researched the surgery so I pretty much knew what to expect. But some post op products that I found helpful were gas x strips, a nice, new pillow, baby food, crystal light, some cool dvds to watch , and a nice comfy chair to lay in. Good luck to you.
  18. Good luck to you. Sending you healthy vibes and well wishes.
  19. Great job to both of you! Keep it up!
  20. I hear ya as well. Sometimes I get so upset because I just can't sit down like eveyone else and eat a normal meal. Im not saying I wasnt to sit there and eat junk but just a normal meal. But then I remember what my life was like when I ate a normal meal and I realize I'm all set with all that. I would rather be happy and healthy, then sitting at the table eating pizza. Good luck to everyone
  21. wow 120 pounds!!!!! Congrats and keep up your awesome work!
  22. The process is different for everyone! Some people wait 6 weeks, some six months. It depends on requirements, insurance, appointments, etc. Good luck and I hope you get your date really soon!
