Doesn't matter how old this post is.
So, I know that the Teens part of this is kind of slow, but if anyone does get on here and wants someone to talk to, just hit me up. I'm 17, and was banded last August. I have been through hell and back with this thing, so I understand most problems you may be having. If you are contemplating getting the surgery, I can give you my story for that as well (trust me, there is one). My email is : andy.penguins@ymail.com Don't laugh at it please. It's from Junior High.

Need Recipes!
I've started to go BACKWARDS instead of forwards. And I want to put this to a stop! I've already got an exercise plan and workout buddy planned out, and all I have left is the recipes! If you have any good ones, then please let me know!

Military?
I'm 16, and have always had a desire to be in the military. It has always just felt like the right path for me. However, when I went to speak to my recruiting office, they told me that they didn't think that LapBanders could join any branch of the military. I asked them if they were sure, and they said not really, but wouldn't even look it up. I was just wondering if anyone had any more info on the subject. I'm looking more towards Navy, Army, and Nat Guard. I'm not exactly cut out for the Marines or anything lol.

Friendship Advice Please....
Thank you both so much for your input! Tami_819, thank you. You're right, I guess that I am a little bit worried about being left behind. She's going to be starting a whole new life, and I guess that I'm just worried that she won't need her single friends anymore. I suppose that I'm also just a little bit worried about HER breaking HIS heart. She's said multiple times that she just doesn't think that she will last long in marriage, because she gets bored easily with everything. Including guys. But no matter what happens, I will definitely always be there for her. No. Matter. What.

Friendship Advice Please....
Okay Ladies, I need some input here. So I'll give you a run-down of the situation. My friend is 17, and she's been dating this guy for maybe a year and a half now. He's 18, and a great guy. He treats her like a princess, even though she doesn't exactly return the favor towards him. They are getting married in June. Yeah. Married while they are still children. They say they love each other, I totally get that and believe them. But we're still kids ourselves. And still developing mentally. She chose me as the Maid of Honor for the wedding (we've been best friends since we were 12), but I just can't bring myself to be happy for her when I know that they aren't ready for this kind of step. Neither of them have ever had a job, and he's going to be make a 3 hour commute every day for school. She's going to be living with him, his mom, and his grandma while attending beauty school. They've only been engaged for less than a week, and she's already bought their glasses, wedding invitations, and picked out the wedding theme. All without consulting him on any of it. The fight that exploded over his apparent selfishness and her apparent lack of concern for his feelings was a prime example to me for why they simply aren't ready. Please give me some advice. And if I'm in the wrong, then let me know, so that I won't keep trying to explain this to her. But I'm just at a loss of what to do...I understand it's her decision, and that there is a good chance that it will work out, but I just don't want to see her as a single mom in only a couple of years.

Gaining!
With the aid of LapBand, I lost 60 pounds, which was amazing! But unfortunately, I've gained ten pounds and counting! I used to love stepping on the scale and watching the number get smaller and smaller, but now I literally cringe anytime I pass by one. I have a fill scheduled in two-weeks, and I'm hoping that will help. I also tried to put it off as it being winter, and that my body was maybe just storing fat. I'm so confused. =/

Any banded teens want to talk?
Hey Tears, congrats on getting approved! It took me three times before they would finally approve me. And Latti don't be afaid. I felt little to no pain after the surgery, but I also have an insanely high pain tolerance.

Any banded teens want to talk?
Hey Nyla, I was only going to tell a few people, but as I started to lose the wieght and people saw me eat less, word started getting around that I had an eating disorder. I would go ahead and tell. Kids are cruel, and jump to conclusions.

Teenager
So, I'm 16. With me being a teenager, I don't have much free time between advanced classes at school, church, my community, and Band. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for some quick workouts that would, not necessersarily get me in shape, but get me healthy. I don't have much equipment at my house, but I do have a yoga mat, some dumbell weights, a treadmill, and lots of space.

Where can I get the band for my 17 yr old daughter
Not true. I'm fifteen and Dr. Ferrera in Forth Worth approved me right away. I'm getting my surgery done sometime in June, and there are plenty of other doctors in Texas that would do it. I know that it's pretty much the same flight, and would cost just about the same, but atleast it's american done. And don't get freaked out at the mention of Mexico. Alot of the doctors located in the border towns are trained and taught here in the US and go to Mexico strictly for the purpose of doing these surgery's for people that either can't get approved, don't have insurance, and that are under 18.
