wls before surgery?
I think most surgeons and insurance companies require that you try to lose weight before the preop. They want to see that you have tried all avenues in losing weight, and that you don't think this is just a quick fix.I was required to lose 15 pounds before they would do my surgery. I know for me I was desperately trying to get this weight off even before seeing a surgeon. Good luck to you.

Breakfast ideas that don't involve EGGS!
You can get oatmeal that has low carbs. I believe quakers weight contol is one them. I also eat cottage cheese with fruit in it. You could also try a Protein shake and a piece of fruit. I do apples with Peanut Butter on them, things that are simple but still have protein. Good luck to you.

Discouraged and mad at myself
Like it was said before, it would be a good thing to go and get another fill, if they refuse to give you one then you should see a diffrent surgeon. Keep your head up and don't be discouraged, its a long road but one that is defintely worth it. Good luck to you.

14cc band ?
I'm not really sure of the difference but I have read that most surgeons are not using the smaller bands anymore. Good luck

3 months post op, restriction question...?
How long has it been since your last fill? I would talk to your surgeon and see if you need another fill. Good luck to you!

Sore after getting stuck? Normal?
I also feel very sore after stuck experiences. I would eat light today and if it continues call your surgeon.

Have you had your band more than 6 months?
First off getting the lap band done is not the answer for everything. It is a tool, a tool that you must work with. You must "follow" a diet of protein rich foods and exercise to be truly successful. You will lose weight without exercise but not nearly as much as the person who chooses to exercise. As far as following a diet, there are things you need to do to be successful such as eating a lot of protein, staying away from high fat foods, and eating several small meals throughout the day. The wonderful thing about the band is it brings it all together, allowing you to be satisfied sooner and eat less. It is a journey to get to the place of a good amount of restriction, you must get fills and follow the rules of the band. For some people it takes 1 fill , for others it takes 10 fills, it really depends. Good luck to you, I know this was the best decision I have ever made, and I hope your decision either way is to.

Help-- scheduled for pre-op today and thinking i want to postpone
Is this your nerves talking? Don't be nervous this is a wonderful tool. But be realistic with yourself, if you are not 100% ready then wait a little. Everyone is nervous about this , but when it is all said and done the band is great. I wish you luck in your decision, keep us posted.

just banded: will i always be able to feel the port when i bend etc?
I can feel my port when I sit a certain way or when I'm lying down. After you heal though you should not feel it as prevelent as right after surgery.

I threw up...Not a PB.
I believe your sinus infection led to you throwing up. When you have sinus issues you tend to have post nasal drip which can lead up to filling your pouch with that, which could in turn lead to you throwing up. I know thats what happens with me. Otherwise maybe you just have a stomach bug. I hope you feel better!

Salad, Bread and Meat...
I cannot tolerate bread at all. I don't even try anymore because I have experienced some horrible stuck moments trying. As far as salad I am good if I chew, chew, chew, if not I am in trouble. Meat is one of those things I have to be really careful with because sometimes I can tolerate and sometimes I can't. I just have to remind myself to take my time and chew. As far as restaurants go , most are very willing to give you a substitute such as veggies. If they want your buisness bad enough they will. Good luck to you!

Restriction VS. Stuck!!
I know that there are also days for me where I can eat something and the next day I can't. Its like my band plays tricks on me. I think you should talk to your surgeon and see what the problem is, but I don't think it is because you have stretched your pouch. Keep your head up and see your doc. Sending postitive vibes your way!

My scale is playing tricks on me....
I have read that your weight can fluctuate up to 8 pounds in one day so that could be part of the problem. Next you could try and change the batteries on the scale , that may be part of the problem, the batteries could be dying. Also you should try and not weigh your self every day like that. I say this yet I am one f those people who weigh themselves twice a day, haha. It gets obsessive for me , so I can relate to that feeling of wanting to see a loss. Anyway, I hope you figure everything out and hopefully it was a 3 pound loss. Good luck!

Anyone cheat on there pre op diet?
It is definitely hard for everyone but imperative that you make the right decisions. The point of the pre op diet is to shrink the liver so your surgeon can work around it. If you cheat you could risk having your surgery, so remember nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Rememeber it is a rough road but totally worth it! Good luck:thumbup:
