3 months post op, restriction question...?

Hello, It has been just over 3 months since my band was put in...i started at 305lbs (the day before surgery) and now I am at about 260lbs.

I have had 2 fills so far, first was 4.0cc's and my second was another 1.0cc.

I had restriction for a couple weeks after second fill, but now I am starting to not feel the restriction as much...is that normal? Before I could eat a few bites of food, and then be full, but now i can keep going. The fullness is now lower in my belly than more upper part, almost feeling like in my bottom of my throat. Any advice? Do I need another fill? is it normal to feel restriction, and then end up not feeling the restriction? Thanks in advance.

How long has it been since your last fill? I would talk to your surgeon and see if you need another fill. Good luck to you!

It's very normal. For one thing, you might feel restriction for a short period of time after a fill because of swelling around the stoma. Also, as you're losing weight, you're losing the fat pad that built up around your stomach, so your band naturally loosens. Thirdly, there are people (like me) who need a very full band to have long lasting restriction.

It took several fills before I had restriction that lasted more than two to four weeks. My last fill was a small .5cc adjustment and that was almost three months ago. I still have as much restriction today as I did right after that fill. I don't anticipate needing any more fills to get to my goal weight.
