How exciting. I'm only two months post-op, but am planning on opening a savings account to start saving for plastics!! I can't wait to hear how everything goes!

Cherie04 got a reaction from You Are My Sunshine in What was/is your greatest fear?
My biggest fear is failure. I've seen so many people have good results from these surgeries, but also know people who are as big or bigger than when they started the process. That is my fear.

I too am a stomach sleeper. I am almost 2 months post-op and have no problems sleeping on my stomach now. I had to sleep on my sides for a few weeks after surgery. I would forget and roll over to my stomach. It never hurt, it was just uncomfortable.

I'm fine giving people a number. I'm proud of that number!! But it makes me feel uncomfortable when they tell me "You look great". I appreciate it, but like you, It makes me wonder what I looked like before. I usually come back with, Thanks, the important thing is I feel great!

These are such an inspiration. I'm 5 weeks out and have hit a stall, the scale did move some this morning, and I have been so discouraged. Every time I have lost weight in the past, I would stall after losing 20 lbs or so, and then gain 30. I love seeing the before and after pictures because I feel like with this tool, there is hope!! Thank you all for sharing.

I have a shake every morning. I find that my stomach hasn't really woken up until later, so it's much easier to tolerate the shakes.

I was sleeved on 12/9. There have been a few times that I have tried foods that were on my plan, my body wasn't ready for it yet. My surgeon told me to trust my body. If something made me feel uncomfortable, wait and try it again in a few days.

Cherie04 reacted to Arabesque in Stubbed toes - an unexpected weight loss side effect
This is going to sound silly but I’ve been stubbing my toes in my kitchen a lot over the last few months. Kicking the dishwasher, the fridge, the skirting boards, cupboards - lots of swearing, hobbling, cracked toe nails & pain. Couldn’t work out why I mean it’s my kitchen. I know where everything is.
Then yesterday, when I was putting ice on my bruised big toe, I realised why. I don’t have a large stomach that protrudes out & reaches the kitchen bench before my toes do anymore.
How ridiculous is that. Subconsciously, I walk up to the bench & stop when my tummy hits it. Now when my tummy reaches the bench, my toes have already slammed into the cupboards.
Also realised while I often have bruises on my lower legs now, probably for the same reason I stub my toes, I don’t have the bruises I used to have on my upper thighs which I’d get from knocking my old large body into furniture.
Boy do I need to work on my spatial awareness in regards to my smaller body... if only to protect my poor little toes. 😁

Cherie04 got a reaction from New Me, New Mind in I’m ALWAYS cold
I have always been hot natured. Most of the time I would sleep with a blanket at all. Now I'm cold all of the time. I've had to buy a heater for under my desk at work. I now sleep with two blankets at night. I bring a jacket and gloves everywhere. I'm glad to not be hot, but this is crazy too!!!

Cherie04 reacted to Betty1971 in got to have a sense of humor !
here is to 2021!!! I live in a very small town and I am not much on social media. I have kept my WLS on the down low, not because I am ashamed but because I am not looking for support or BS from anyone. My husband we into town today to the local cafe (gossip central) to pick up eggs that I forgot to get on my regular grocery run and the old gal who runs the place announced to the whole joint, during the morning coffee run, how sorry she was to hear about my illness. My husband said "she is feeling good but I will tell her your thinking of her" she carried on to ask him how many rounds I would need. He replied " I believe this will do it". The word is I am going though chemo, LOL. I am not telling them any different......let them talk.
Chemo or weight loss surgery regardless, I am getting thin!!!! LOL

Cherie04 reacted to ichabodny in ONEDERLAND peeps!
Well we had a major snowstorm here in the Southern Tier of NY with over 4 ft of snow-I think shoveling all day yesterday put me over the top with weight loss lol. I woke up this morning and FINALLY got that scale to move under the 200 lb mark (no stall but just a slow down in the last week or so).
I started a new job a few weeks ago at a factory and adding more hours this last week for Christmas with overtime. I am on my feet with some heavy lifting and physical activity but it's helping with the exercise part. I had gained about a lb a week ago and figured it was for the muscle content with the increased movement to my daily normal activity but now it's going down fast again.
Also marks 100 lb weight loss since program start this year-holy cow! My Dr and hospital scales are all one lb less then my scale-actually down to 197- but who's counting that close? ME, that's who! lol.
I don't think many people outside of this group can understand how much my life has changed and is changing for this surgery. I work and am tired but no excrutiating pain for days after with just a few hours on my feet. Honestly I can bend, move and be fast with productivity at my workplace and feel awesome with a good day of work. I can take a freakin bath!!!! and feel just so skinny! My husband and I have a renewed relationship in all aspects but one aspect not mentioning that has been awesome :-)! Hey, I'm old-not dead lol.
I sit down and have room with my animals able to sit on a lap that I now have and I am able to easily bend to clean the pens, guinea pig areas and even to play with my chihuahuas or walk with my family. It's just surreal how different and wonderful I feel. Oh I have my precious Holland Lop bunnies that are basically free roam and 9 guinea pigs rescued. I clean constantly and able to do that on top of work with really no problems.
40 more lbs to go. My birthday was Jan 21 of this year- I turned 48 and hit an unbelievable depression. I truly hated myself as the scale approached 300 lbs and I couldn't even walk. That's what spurred the research for medical weight loss and was able to start the program a month later-changed my life!! So grateful!
I now wear a size 16/18-holy cow! Last year I barely fit a size 28.

This is my biggest fear also. I was sleeved last Wednesday and have had a fairly easy recovery. I actually started back to work yesterday. I'm loving watching the scale go down. But I am so afraid that I'm going to fall back into my old ways eventually.
