Can I see some before and after pics?
Cherie04 replied to Hopefulin2021's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
These are such an inspiration. I'm 5 weeks out and have hit a stall, the scale did move some this morning, and I have been so discouraged. Every time I have lost weight in the past, I would stall after losing 20 lbs or so, and then gain 30. I love seeing the before and after pictures because I feel like with this tool, there is hope!! Thank you all for sharing. -
Food Before and After Photos

I read this entire post in Tabitha Brown's voice. "Like so, like that"!!! This looks delicious -
I'm actually choosing to not eat cereal right now. It's definitely been a weakness for me in the past, so I'm going to avoid it for a little while. My dietician recommended Cheerios, Special K or Bran Flakes with almond milk or low fat fairlife.

Everyone's plan is different. I was sleeved on 12/9. My plan gradually adds food each week. This week I have been able to add canned tuna and chicken, baked fish, all cooked vegetables, fresh crab, and whole-grain cereals.

I had surgery on 12/9. I've also lost 27 pounds. I've been stuck now for about a week. Everyone on here says that there is a normal stall around week 3-4. I stopped weighing daily and am now focusing on inches lost, new clothes I'm fitting into, and just trying to enjoy the journey. I would be lying if I said it didn't bother me, but I'm trying to not obsess over it!!!

I’m ALWAYS cold
Cherie04 replied to BetterBelizeIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have always been hot natured. Most of the time I would sleep with a blanket at all. Now I'm cold all of the time. I've had to buy a heater for under my desk at work. I now sleep with two blankets at night. I bring a jacket and gloves everywhere. I'm glad to not be hot, but this is crazy too!!! -

Bless your heart. I've had them twice and they were very painful. Praying you have a speedy recovery.

I joined this group when I started my journey in July. I've read so many posts about the 3-4 week stall. I knew it was coming and I still wasn't prepared. I was sleeved on 12/9. I've been stuck at 218 for days....... I'm trying to focus on non-scale goals, but it's so hard not seeing it move!! How did you push through your stall???

What to bring to the hospital?
Cherie04 replied to xoxomaya's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sleeved on 12/9. I brought my phone charger, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, an extra change of clothes, slippers, and chapstick. I was pretty minimalistic with packing. Wish I would have brought my pillow!! -
I have anxiety which has gotten worse in the last several months. My dr. adjusted my medicines and it has been very manageable. When I went for my EGD in September, I was very anxious, for no reason at all. So I knew when surgery day came, I would be anxious that day as well. I was sleeved on 12/9. I had no issues. By the time I made it to the preop area, they started my iv and started me on Versed and a Scopolamine Patch and I was fine. It all went by pretty quickly and I didn't have time to think about it. My anxiety hasn't been any different since surgery. I have been more irritable, but I'm sure that because my family is still eating food and I can't!!

I'm a week out today. I have very little soreness at this point. Most of the pain I experienced days after surgery was because I was taking too big of sips. It's taken me a while to figure out my new sip size!! Walking has definitely helped me. I started back to work on Monday and I try to make a quick walk through our building every hour. Good luck!!

Requirements complete now what
Cherie04 replied to Hopefulin2021's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would check with the office and see if they have submitted to your insurance. I know it took about 3 weeks for my insurance to respond. -
This is my biggest fear also. I was sleeved last Wednesday and have had a fairly easy recovery. I actually started back to work yesterday. I'm loving watching the scale go down. But I am so afraid that I'm going to fall back into my old ways eventually.

Finally Sleeved and looking forward to the future!

I was sleeved on the 9th. Best of luck to you on this new journey. I can't wait to see where it takes us. -
Thank you. I hope so. Today was better, but I still don’t feel like drinking anything. I hope this passes soon

I have BCBS of MS. There were two different programs, a 3 month or 6 month program. I went with the 3 month program. I started the process in July and my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. I had to have 4 appointments with my surgeon and 4 appointments with my nutritionist.

I'm having the gastric sleeve done on Wednesday, December 9. I haven't had to do a preop diet until tomorrow. I'm starting to get excited!! Hard to believe it's finally here

Lap band United Healthcare -sleeve BCBS
Cherie04 replied to toytoy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BCBSMS. I would think that they would cover the sleeve since they would only be approving that 1. They also have a 90-day bariatric program. 4 meetings with the nutritionist and 4 with the surgeon. I just signed my final clearance papers with the surgeon yesterday and am just waiting to hear from their office on a date. Good luck to you. -
My son is 10. I told him and explained to him why and what was going to happen. He wasn't impressed!! His response was "As long as I don't have to look at your incisions!"
