kellym1220 got a reaction from WishMeSmaller in sleeved 10 days ago and I still feel horrible
I'm sure I don't have to ask this, but have you contacted your surgeon? That is not normal recovery and you need to stay hydrated. Please call them if you haven't!

My nutritionist said that if you "chew, chew, chew, chew, chew" you are pureeing the food in your mouth. I have a REALLY hard time chewing my food thoroughly, i have always wolfed down my food. I haven't had an issue, thank goodness!
But I agree with the above poster, try Beans, eggs, yogurt, Soup, pudding. If you do like pudding, add some GENEPRO or any powdered Protein, or make it with a Protein Shake to up it's protein.
    Good luck!

Congratulations!! That is such great progress! I'm at 3 months and one day...still waiting to make it half way to goal, but feeling confident that this is the right choice for me and best decision I have made!

kellym1220 got a reaction from WishMeSmaller in What was/is your greatest fear?
    I had two fears:
    1) Not losing weight...I am, so yay!
    2) Not being able to eat out and go out with my friends...even at 2 1/2 months, I have been able to go out and have an "almost normal" dinner. I took my sister out for a "Magical Dining" meal for her birthday, three courses at Ruth's Chris. I had a few bites of the lobster bisque, most of the lobster bits (no bread), about half of a 6 oz filet and two (absolutely delicious) bites of cheesecake. It was yummy and so worth it! I brought the leftovers home and my sin really enjoyed them! (He still won't eat in a restaurant!)
I didn't fear death or complications, and suffered from neither!
    Good luck!

I've been eating a half serving of Special K High Protein (7.5g of Protein) and a half cup of 1% milk (4g of protein). Fills me up and I always seem to lose better with that Breakfast than any other.

But, has anyone tried these? I get mine at Thrive Market (on line) but I think they have them at Trader Joe's now...as well as Amazon. 90 calories and 9g of protein. I like the jalapeno ones best!!

How long will you be in the hospital? I was supposed to be in the hospital for two nights, in which case, I probably would not have needed pain meds. But it turned out (thank you, COVID) that I was outpatient and needed pain meds until Day 3. And I agree, speak to your surgeon about pain management post surgery.

I just received my surgery date today (11/5!!!!!) and my fear right now is never being able to eat normal food again. I am a huge foodie and don't eat cheap junk food, but truly enjoy trying new things and cultural food etc. I am really worried that I will never be able to enjoy food, or the social rituals surrounding it, ever again.
My other fear is also body outcomes. My 'goal' is 210, but I do not ever remember weighing under 300 pounds, so I cannot imagine what that will even look like. I'm also trans, so I worry about my body being in a different shape causing increased dysphoria.

For Mexican food, I ordered shrimp fajitas and ate about 2 shrimp and some refried Beans. I ate the leftover shrimp for two more days! LOL
For sushi, I ordered the sashimi appetizer (9 pieces) and ate 6 pieces at first and 9 pieces now.
Of course, if you are not at the solid stage, I would suggest only refried beans and/or some sort of Soup.
    Good luck!

Hey! Haven't been on here in QUITE some time, but figured the most impactful posts I saw as a newbie were the people who were 2-5 years in, checking back and encouraging new people. To give some detail, I'm 2.5 years in, over 140 pounds down (and kept off) 260 lbs start, currently 115, have had 2 plastic surgeries, and my life has literally never been better. If you're new and things are rough, it's okay! This journey has been long, rough, exhausted but SO worth it. Best decision I ever made, it gave me my life back. I'm happy to answer any questions if anyone has any or just wants encouraging words

I would contact my Doc pretty quickly.
While you may be correct about it being your GB, it could also be referred pain of a heart issue, GERD, Hernia, or who knows what.
I am not a Doc, but I watched HOUSE recently, so I can say this for sure: It's never lupus.
    Good Luck

    Congratulations on your surgery.
When I read about them finding an issue with your liver I couldn't help but think how lucky you are. Now, the Docs can evaluate what's going on and take appropriate action.
    Hang in there.

kellym1220 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Comfort food ideas please
Because you just had tooth extraction surgery, I would recommend something very soft, such as refried Beans with melted cheese, one of my favorite comfort foods post surgery and easy to make! Also, any Soup with higher Protein values or scrambled eggs with cheese. These would be comfort foods that are still on plan!
    Feel better!!
