  1. I was warned to introduce food variety slowly...to see how your body will react. How did the v8 do? I’m afraid of the tomato acids burning my stomach scar after reading some of these posts.
  2. I was wondering this same exact question last night while enjoying my egg drop soup...cuz it was hella good!
  3. I had muscle milk protein powder coffee for breakfast, half a boiled egg for lunch, and working on another muscle milk protein powder shake made with unsweetened almond milk.
  4. Well Hello JoeJohn.... love folks who work a 12 step. Rigorous honesty is something that just isn’t common at all. Congratulations on your new journey!! I am 3 weeks post op and can’t believe how many inches I have lost so far. I pray you have results you seek to get off them meds. I will be very honest with myself, with each bite I have, I am creating a new me. It can be a bite of my past, or a healthy new life, I pray for all of us stay on a path with God guiding us to do the next right thing.
  5. Wow you have done an amazing job Brent. Can someone explain IF?
  6. It definitely sounds like you have a lot on your plate. There is a dumping syndrome with sugar, so yes, check labels. Did your nut give you a menu guide to follow for the first month or two?
  7. I’m on third week and basically still on protein drinks, and one item of food a day...which is a vegan meatball, spoon full of avocado, and i’ve had egg drop soup. Being greedy and lack of good choices got me here. I’m blessed to have this second chance of life pain free compared to before. Each bite is a healthier me being born again. I’m going to be pretty picky, with each bite. Each time I write that, is another reminder.
  8. Did you get a 24 hr help line number? Do you have a RN counselor you can call?
  9. That is definitely my goal too, We are one day apart from surgery dates. What types of protein have you tried yet? I look forward to buying healthy cuts of lean fish, different types too. Junk food sounds disgusting to me, I hope it stays that way.
  10. One bite at a time to a healthier me...I will recall that for every choice I am making in my new path. Thank you everyone for sharing all your stories. I know every time I read about someone gaining weight, it is a great reminder to stay away from soda, pasta, bread, and sugar.
  11. Vegan meatballs are definitely worth a try...filled with protein too.
  12. I can tolerate the bullet proof unflavored protein in anything... Muscle milk is my new coffee’s creamer...great amount of protein per serving. Your taste buds will change after surgery. I loved the protein water before surgery, but can’t stomach it since the surgery. Same with premier protein, I can’t stomach most of the flavors now after surgery.
  13. This reminded me of waking up in the hospital soak and wet. My iv had a leak, so I didn’t get near the fluids I probably should have.
  14. Your time will fly by, I remember like it was yesterday I was getting my consult. Now I'm 3 weeks post op. It has definitely been a journey. No Regrets!
  15. I had to go on the laptop...made the world of difference. Thank you for the help!
  16. Click on account, profile, and there you can add a pic. I’m gonna try adding my info now...thanks!
  17. So I’m not to quick on the social websites...so any help is appreciated. Does anyone know how to add the surgery info? I can’t even figure out how to rotate my pic...LoL
  18. I’m going to just put this right here....my doc told me a minimum a year. Doc said we now absorb alcohol at such an intense rate that we will be drunk way before we realize it. Doc also informed me bariatric patients are the new AA members. So for anyone that ever findS them selves in that predicament, thank God there is help.
  19. Dec 12 here....twinsy come fine me!!!
  20. My tsh was 9.8 I think and I take levothroxazine....don’t know If I’m spelling that right. So my levo was upped.
  21. My shoulders always hurt when my tsh levels are off. Thank goodness for thyroid meds!! My meds had to be adjusted right before surgery. I’m still losing weight.
  22. Yeah, probably all depends on each personal journey. Different factors would come into play, complications, healing process, personal pain tolerance. Always a good choice to follow the doctors orders.
  23. I used to love green smoothies, I’m just scared to take in all those carbs. What is your recipe?
  24. I was told not to worry about the amount of protein in the bites I take, that I still need my 60-70 grams of protein drinks a day. I can only stomach the bulletproof unflavored protein powder. Even the protein water feels to thick on my tummy. How is everyone else getting protein in?
