  1. Woo Hoo!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!
  2. 10 days til surgery! I feel like I'm starving today. Just had my 3rd shake, and feel like I could eat a whole pizza! I have my final nutrition appt tomorrow, so knowing that I'm getting weighed in is helping me stay on track. This is the first day I've been tempted to cheat. Ugh! I've spent most of the day in my bedroom, just to stay away from the kitchen. My poor family must think I'm ignoring them! LOL!
  3. I think it's only natural to be a little nervous! The biggest thing I'm nervous about is taking off my rings before surgery. I can't get them off!! Hoping the pre-op diet will help me lose just enough weight to make my fingers skinny! LOL!!
  4. Hang in there!! Good idea on the mask! Fingers crossed for you to stay healthy!!
  5. Awesome!!! It's really starting to feel real, isn't it? I just got a call yesterday to schedule my pre-admission testing for 12/13. The hospital also has a new requirement that every patient has to be seen by a cardiologist and pulmonary doctor, so just made those appointments too. So all these appointments are keeping me quite busy!! Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!!!
  6. Congrats!!! Hope you are feeling better soon! Please keep posting to let us know how you are doing!
  7. Good luck! I'm 12/18! I'm supposed to start my liquid diet 12/4, but I started a few days early. So far, so good!!
  8. Good luck!!!! Just think of the early jump in weight loss you will have going into surgery! It's interesting how ever doctor's pre-op diet is slightly different, some shorter or longer too!
  9. Good luck!!!! We have a December surgery group going if you want to join us!
  10. Hang in there!!!! Before you know, you'll be post surgery, and you'll be jonesing for some broth! LOL!!!
  11. So exciting to see so many posts on this thread! It means we are all getting closer and closer to surgery! My excitement of the day is that I discovered Ensure Max protein shakes, and they are my favorite so far. It's fun experimenting, and right now I just buy whatever is on sale. Ensure was on sale, so I tried it, and I love it! So that's my exciting news! ha ha ha!!
  12. I'm supposed to start my pre-op diet on 12/4, but after eating way too much on Thanksgiving, I couldn't take it anymore, and started the pre-op on Black Friday. I figure a few extra days of pre-op won't hurt, and maybe I can drop some extra weight too! My pre-op is 3 protein shakes and a light dinner. We can substitute a lean cuisine for a traditional dinner, which I did last night!
  13. I have Aetna and started with a 40 BMI, and had the same fears. My nurse said that it's only my initial weight that's needed to qualify for BMI, and that I could lose lots of weight and it won't disqualify me, and that losing weight prior to surgery is actually a very good thing for insurance approval.
  14. I'm scared to jink myself, but my surgery is scheduled for 12/18!!!! I'm so excited!! My surgeon schedules first, then sends to insurance for approval, so that's why I'm scared to jinx myself. I'm keeping my fingers crossed while I celebrate!! LOL!!
  15. Thanks girlfriend! Looks like no problems with Aetna so far, so fingers crossed that we are both scheduled soon!
  16. I hope to be joining you all with a date soon!! I go back to see my surgeon on 11/25 to get my surgery date, but was told that he will get me in for December!!! Ahhhh!!! I'm so excited!!!
  17. I only had to see the psych once. No written questions or tests, just a conversation. I was actually very impressed with entire experience. I thought it would just be to make sure I wasn't crazy (and I must be a little crazy to have such a bad relationship with food), but she gave me lots of great information about the surgery, recovery, vitamins, etc. She was great! If you can get in with another psych, I think it's worth a try!!
  18. Such GREAT news!!! I'm so happy for you!! I see the surgeon on Monday, so fingers crossed that I'll get similar news!!!!
  19. Maybe see if insurance will cover the panni, and you just pay the difference for the extra costs involved with the tuck?
  20. Thanks for posting this! I'm planning on taking 1-2 weeks off work, but am hoping to be able to drive my kids to their activities, even if it means just pulling up and dropping them off without getting out of the car!
  21. I didn't have one either. I did have a chest xray and UGI though,
  22. I plan on starting the vitamins right away too. Only 1 more week til your surgery! Good Luck!!!!
  23. I chose RNY b/c I have GERD, and also b/c I have a sweet tooth, and I like the idea that knowing eating sugar will make me sick, so I won't do it!
