Uomograsso got a reaction from msilva_777 in Weight loss slow down
Remember as you lose weight your calorie requirements go down as well. Since you have no stats posted I used mine. If I went from 298 lbs to 217 lbs my caloric needs would go down by 500 calories! Of course weight loss will slow as you lose weight. You can't maintain the same rapid weight loss the lower your weight becomes. Here is link to Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculator to calculate your daily caloric needs.

11 days post op and down 22lbs and back in the 100’s for the first time in years. I’m in shock. I still have a long way to go but I’m so happy right now. I won’t lie I have moments where I question my decision because this is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I know I’m doing this to live a long healthy life.

No such thing as a "dumb question." That is why they want you to stop drinking 30 min prior to eating and not drink during meals as it will flush food right thru your pouch. My doctor says this only applies starting with soft foods in stage 3. So, no Water shouldn't harm your pouch now.

I did, they gave me one when I got to the hospital and sent me home with a few more. I get bad motion sickness, so I guess when this patch wears off I’ll see what happens. Thank you very much.

Dinner! .75 cup egg whites, 1 egg, .5 slice gouda, .5 oz shredded cheddar, 100 grams roasted potatoes, salsa and green olives. I haven't gone grocery shopping in 6 weeks and it's KILLING me. But I'm cleaning out my freezer/pantry so progress?!

I already have a week in liquid diet is very hard and think is one more week to go, is even hard to imagine but I am tired of Premier Protein shakes, sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles, crystal light flavor Water no caffeine and chicken broth. But I love flan I just wonder if I can make the Protein Shake into jello just adding some Gelatin? I wonder if is possible and if should be okay to do it? And if is possible?

Uomograsso reacted to Losingit2018 in I am having my surgery in 8 days
I agree since you are allowed Jello and Protein Shakes it should be fine. I used to freeze my shakes and eat them with a spoon like ice cream. It helped me to stick to the diet.

You could always put a teaspoon of vegemite (or marmite) in some hot Water and make your own broth to get that flavour.

Has anyone been having strange vision issues after? Prior to surgery I had perfect vision, now when I try to look at anything close up it is really blurry. It’s fine for things a little further out though.

So lovely, I 💚 that hair color on you & I still have hair envy 😍
I decided to return to being raven haired this week. I just don't like the lighter colors on me anymore. But I had auburn dye left so I mixed it with black to make a cherry cola color (hair looks black but auburn shows in light)

You say you have to eat sweet and sugary food!
    Really, why?
The thing to realise here is that surgery is only a tool. It doesn’t choose what you put in your mouth and doesn’t make unhealthy choices. You do. You buy the food and you eat it, not your sleeve and not your bypass. The only person that can make this work or not is you.
You need to remember why you had these surgeries , what you hoped to achieve and refocus. Go back to basics. Use a small plate, eat Protein first then healthy veg. No grazing. If you want something sweet have a small piece of fruit or yogurt with stevia and cinnamon or a cracker with low sugar jam etc. Track your food, including any sweets.
Go and see a psychologist, get help.
But above all refocus, take responsibility and take charge. You can do this

I don't want to be rude or abrupt, but as you've already failed on your VSG 5 years ago, why are you not fully invested in this second chance?? All WLS stomachs stretch out over time and it seems like you are blaming it for your gain, when in fact that's a natural process and it'll certainly be sped up if you continue to make terrible nutritional choices. The only person who can stop you eating KFC is you. I am 18 months post op sleeve and everyday I record my nutritional intake, because I am an ADDICT but there is no way I'm going back. I was so miserable, and I am completely free now. The VSG just gave me the push out the door, I have to do ALL the work. Forever. That's the deal. Exercise and eat well. I still have treats... like a chocolate date. Not pasta!

I would suggest you take a long hard look at yourself, and realise that you're the only on who can change this. You need to acknowledge you have issues around food and not blame your surgery for your failure. Seriously. Get some support around you, TRACK your food using a calorie app religiously, start exercising and get yourself to a psychologist pronto.

Uomograsso reacted to biginjapan in Anyone using a bullet journal to track their progress?
I had a sleeve done three years ago and will be going in for a revision to bypass in March. I really want to do more to keep myself on track, and thought about having a dedicated bullet journal just for this - goals, trackers, etc. Of course, I already use apps to track food and macros, Water, step count, etc, but they are in different places and, having just started bullet journaling for another part of my life, I’ve realized how much I miss actually writing things down and having more space to write about high points and low points, as well as a place to keep photos, etc of my journey. I’ve done some research online but most bullet journals just have a one page spread for the month tracking exercise or water or whatever, there are very few ideas out there about setting up a journal for those of us going through bariatric surgery (pre- and post-op diets, liquid/purée/soft food stages, etc). Just curious if anyone out there has set up a journal for themselves and are willing to share the kind of spreads they made. I’m currently sketching out a few ideas and will share as soon as I can make them somewhat decent.

Uomograsso reacted to Losingit2018 in How many calories are you supposed to eat 2 months post-op?
I was only getting about 400 calls per day for about the first 6 weeks. I track my macros in mfp and just started trying hard to increase the calories with healthy options and it has been working well. I get in about 600-700 calories now and am continuing to lose weight weekly.

I am sipping every chance I get, either Protein Shakes, popsicles, or a big jug of Water. A few things I’ve found that make the pain worse is drinking cold water and then taking a sip of warm Soup. Plus anything ice cold makes my stomach spasm. I keep hoping the walking will make it better, I get up every 15 minutes and walk around the house. Thanks for your encouragement.
