  1. Am I the only one that was put on blood thinner shots post-op for like 3 weeks? ..... I know I can walk.... I'm just saying. I am ready to do more than just a short breeze up the road.
  2. I had my surgery 6 days ago and I feel GREAT. I've only lost 8-9 lbs since surgery though. I feel like this is low compared to the other stories I read. Prior to surgery, I was walking 3-4 miles every day and using the elliptical. I know my body is not ready for the elliptical yet but when can I start back on my outdoor walks? I typically walk my neighborhood which has lots of grades and one good size hill. My goal is to find a personal trainer when I am able to get to the gym but for now I must rely on myself. I just feel so good that I want to start now, even though I know that is a horrible idea. I may feel great but my insides aren't healed yet. Kind of like how I really want that egg salad that I prepped for my puree stage today instead of waiting until tomorrow! LOL. Tell me when you started back to exercising post-op. Thanks in advance!!!!
  3. @21pilots my mouth is watering................................. LOL
  4. Mama, you look awesome!!! In an outsiders opinion. However, you need to do what you think will make YOU happy!
  5. Thats funny!!!!!!! Hahaha.
  6. I'm starting puree on Monday too! I found this website- and she has some yummy sounding recipes that I wrote down. Check it out, post what you find! https://bariatricbits.com/bariatricnutrition/recipes/
  7. YUM!!!!! 2 more days of liquid until I can move to puree............ My mouth is watering thinking of shredded chicken and green beans!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I didn't fart until yesterday (3 days post op) and I haven't pooped yet.
  9. I saw it. It will get better! Hang in there! Talk to you soon!!
  10. Don't over do it. I was told by my surgeon that taking time and resting was okay. Our bodies have just went through a huge change. Take your time.
  11. I'm 3 days post op and I'm also weak and tired and slightly still bloated. I'm thankful to be reading the above posts.
  12. Good idea!!!!!! Sounds like you're doing exceptional!
  13. You got this. Pop a sugar free mint in your mouth and (unfortunately) be a pessimist and remember all the problems associated with smoking with bariatric surgery.
  14. No way. Too afraid! I quit before surgery but sitting around doing nothing all day makes me bored and that's where the cravings come in. Also, I'm staying with my parents for the time being until I feel like I can completely take care of myself (I'm single and live alone with two doggies) - But my Mom smokes like a pack a day. So hopefully once I'm back into a good routine and away from her nicotine I will lose the craving!
  15. I just had my sleeve done Monday and I decided even before the sleeve that I was putting off dating until I was where I wanted to be.
  16. Wow. I had a dream last night that I had one puff of a cigarette and I almost died. I'm craving it too though!
  17. !!!!!!! Dr. Ortiz did my band in 2005!!!!!!!!! They were amazing down there!!!! And I was able to go to San Diego multiple times a year on "vacations" as my friends thought. LOL. So I was sleeved on Monday June 17. I'm doing good! It's a pain to get in and out of a chair, bending over I try not to do, I'm constantly tired, I have hunger pangs daily (relieved by muscle spasm pill), but other than THAT - I'm doing great! Mine was done in Cincinnatti, Ohio by Dr. Steven Udelhofen. I think the worst part right now is I'm doing so good with liquids I (WANT) to try like some applesauce but I know I can't do that yet. Biggest problem I'm facing, though, is working in 64 ounces of fluid a day. I set an alarm for every 20 mins and it is still a struggle. I don't want to over do it and drink too much so I only drink 2 oz per 20 mins.
  18. Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!! I just had mine done June 16 - Ready for some puree foods......! Lol. Congrats!
  19. That is a beautiful story!!!! Congrats to you!!!
  20. Let us know what you find out. GOod luck!
  21. I drink Premier Protein Drinks - Pic attached. How is it possible to eat and drink soda from the get go? Didn't her stomach stretch? NO leaks? That's unbelievable.
  22. Wow, thanks for your inspiration. I was also banded - I was banded in 2005 and removed in 2018 due to a slippage. I told myself I wouldn't get another bariatric surgery but here I am with the sleeve! I had lost about 70lbs on the band initially then gained it all back plus some. When I had the band removed, I continued to gain more weight so that is why I decided to go forward with the sleeve. Hopefully this process goes by smooth and quickly. You'll have to let me know when you get a date set!
