  1. So you haven't even had the surgery yet! I used the same excuse- Keto diet during my pre-op diet. How long have you been on a pre-op diet for? I find it so odd how long it takes for the approvals from insurance. I feel like mine was done in no time. I'm not worried about the kids, I'm more concerned with the other staff members. I teach in a very toxic environment- A teacher might come to you being supportive but behind your back she will say very mean things.
  2. When I get that hunger pang (I'm only 2 days post op) I take one of those muscle spasm pills and it helps me feel better. Glad to know I'm not the only one who is hungry right now, and I'm hoping it goes away with puree like some f you suggested!
  3. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I was just sleeved on Monday and was told by my doctor that an elevated heart rate is a sign of a leak, especially if accompanied by a temperature above 101.00 - Do you have a temperature?
  5. Hey, teacher here too, sleeved over the summer!!! I've told my two best friends who also work in the district, and one of them actually took me for my surgery. Any ideas on what to say to the rest of them when August comes?
  6. Good idea with the pillow on your stomach! The spasms / hunger pangs haven't been as bad today as they were yesterday so that is a plus for me. I'm moving every half hour or so. Unless I'm napping. My goal is to walk outside by the weekend because so far I have only been in the house. How has your entire experience been so far? What are you eating for your puree?
  7. Hi!!! How are you doing one week out?!?! Who did yours??
  8. Hey! Looking for a Sleeve Sister or even brother to talk back and forth with! Here's a short story about me- I was banded in 2005 when I was 15 in Tijuana by Dr. Ortiz. Over 13 years, I lost about 70 lbs but by 2018 I had gained it all back. I found Dr. Udelhofen in Cincinnati, Ohio (working under Trace Curry) and he determined my band was slipped. I had no idea, but I believe it. So he removed my band in July of 2018 and initially I wanted to get the sleeve done the same day but decided against it. I didn't want to quit smoking and quit drinking. March/April 2019 I decided I wanted to go forth with it. I stopped smoking and decided to put my alcohol consumption on hold and here I am - 2 days post-sleeve! So far- I'm really not in pain. I feel nauseous more than I feel pain. Last night was terrible - I was in the shower taking off my dressings and got 2 of the 5 off when I felt really sick and dizzy. Thankfully, I'm staying with my parents currently since I'm single and I was able to get my Mom to help me out. But today I feel great. The only time I get any pain is when I'm sitting up out of the chair or getting out of bed. Speaking of bed, anyone else not able to sleep through the night? I typically am a side sleeper but I can only sleep on my back right now. So I'm up practically all night until I go to the chair to sleep. How long will this last for?! Anyone get hunger pains? I typically take a muscle spasm pill when my hunger pains start. Drinking 2 oz of powerade zero / water / protein water every 30 mins. Oh, since I'm new - How do I get one of those little goal tracker things you guys have at the bottom of your posts?~?~?
