High resting heart rate after VSG?

I've noticed that my resting heart rate is higher than it used to be before surgery, per my Fitbit. Whereas before it used to be 60-70ish, now it is frequently in the 80s, sometimes even higher. And it goes up quite a bit when I do even light activity. Has anyone else noticed this?

I was just sleeved on Monday and was told by my doctor that an elevated heart rate is a sign of a leak, especially if accompanied by a temperature above 101.00 - Do you have a temperature?

  • Could it be a inner weakness because you're just recovering from major surgery. Even if you feel pretty good it still rocks your world to its foundation. So a reaction could be altogether possible.

Hey, all was good. She is concerned I may be anemic, and also that I am still having a hard time taking in many calories. I am going for bloodwork, but she says if it was a leak I would definitely be having other symptoms.
