Ready2bthin.. Tell her to check out the lapband center of Michigan in Port Huron. There's two doctors there and between the two of them they have over 1500 surgeries. I'll be banded by them on August 3rd.

I'm interested but I tried to check the cost of flights but it says that's too far away. Hmmmmmmmmm!

Saw Mohammad Ali's daughter on Montel Williams show talking about how she lost over 100 pounds with the lapband.

So how is everyones nervous level??? I'm officially 17 days away from getting my surgery! I can't believe it!

I took my hubby to my seminar and we walked out and I asked him "What did you think?" and he said "well now I'm more nervous!" I said "why??" he says "how are you going to stop drinking pepsi???" hahaha. He's worried about my not drinking pepsi! He's nervous about it but handling it all pretty well! Being very supportive.

6'1" here and looking to be 230ish. I don't care if I'm in onederland. hehehe. I just want twoferland! I would be very comfy around 230.

The first doctor I had picked was great and highly qualified and I was very excited to be going to her until the day before my consult someone on here warned me there was a $800 support group fee due before surgery along with the $250 consult fee and $175 psych eval fee and the fee's for two visits to the dietician, etc. I about flipped out! So I then canceled my appt and started going to other seminars. I'm very happy I did. The only out of pocket I've had has been the $50 consult fee and $100 hospital fee. YAY for money!

I'm married but even before then I suffer from PCOS and have darkening under my arms and around my waist line. I'm very overweight. I've always looked at it this way... I'm not going to share myself with someone that doesn't know me... and to be at the point of being intimate I'd probably already shared with them the journey I went through to get to the healthy new me anyways. If they are scared of the scars, stretchmarks, etc. Then they will have plenty of time to bail out before we get to the point of being nekkid and partying! WOO WOO! I hope you find someone that is amazing and loves every inch of you because all of it made you the beautiful person you are on the inside as well as out!

I have a heel spur also and in the morning I would barely be able to walk on it. I then heard that if you stretch your foot before you get out of bed you'll get a lot of the stiffness out of it so I start every morning with stretching my foot by pointing my toes out and then pointing them up towards me and rotating my foot... anything that pulls that tendon that goes from the ball of my foot to my heel. It worked wonders and now I don't have pain at all. my podiatrist told me that the tendon tightens and then the pressure makes it pull from the heel, which gets inflamed and so calcium deposits form around the inflamed area which turns in to a bone spur/heel spur. Stretching and massaging it fixed it for me. Good luck!

last summer I was taking care of my dying mother in the hospital and one day I saw Mohammad Ali's daughter on Montel and she was talking about how she had lapband and lost over 100 pounds and all the pluses of getting it and I thought "wow.. that sounds really good" but with all i was going through I didn't think of it again. During the winter I was very depressed because me and my mom were very close and I was gaining even more weight. Finally one night when i couldn't sleep I got online and decided to look it up. I read about it for hours and then I just couldn't get it out of my head. I found this website eventually so after reading and seeing all the before and after pictures I decided to go to a seminar. Then I went to another seminar and now I'm having surgery on August 3rd and I'm very excited to having something Good happening in my life. Paul, I was thinking that if Chris Farley were still alive we could have slapped a dress on him and he could have played me before surgery. hahaha!!! Maybe Rebecca Roemyn for after surgery. WOO HOO!

Ok well as many of you know, my mother passed away in October 2005 from ovarian cancer. She'd had several surgeries over the 4 years she fought the disease. My father (who's supportive) told my mom's best friend that I was doing this and showed her the lapband pamplet and she went home and emailed me here at work saying "I knew your mother very well and she hated surgery and would never have approved" Which tore me up pretty bad, but my dad and 19 year old brother both reminded me of the fact that the three of us knew her better then anybody and if this is what I wanted she would have been behind me 100%. I told her that I needed to do this if I want to have children in the future and she told me that if God wants me to have kids he'll make it happen and all I have to do is pray to him. Wish it always worked that way. I believe in God but he didn't cure my mom's cancer when I prayed for that. Sometimes you have to help yourself if you want God to help you too. Then just this past week one of my best friends who's been my biggest supporter sent me an email saying "yesterday I was watching montel on tv and they had a psychic on there named sylvia brown and listening to her got me thinking and I wanted to tell you that maybe your consult being moved back a week and then your surgery date being moved back a week too is your mother doing it to show you that she doesn't want you to have this done" I about flipped out and told her to keep her damn opinion to herself because making the decision to do this was hard enough let alone having all these people outside of the family try and speak for my mother who is dead. I didn't talk to her for a day and she realized what she said was stupid and wrong and now we've moved on from it.

It's almost fixed! You should post on the Michigan Thread about Dr. Wood so people coming here to research where to go will be aware of that. I just happened upon this by accident.

I tried herbalife back in the late 90's and took it about a month but it was making my heart race and I felt anexious a lot so I stopped taking it. I know I was losing weight but it just made me feel really weird. Also my pee smelled bad. hahahaha and I'm NOT kidding!

Bandster, I think that's a great idea. We have two german shephards. One is a lab shepard mix but they're both huge and I plan to get myself out walking them in the mornings and after work. Trip... I'd love to come for dinner! Just tell me what to bring!

I met my husband on yahoo personals. We got married 5 months later. Met in Mid July and got married Dec. 18, 2004. hahaha. YES we are crazy but it's been 2 years since we met and we haven't killed each other yet. I do agree though. It's very hard to meet people!

Why is it that so many people view this but nobody posts anything? Why aren't we Michiganders chatting away????

My lapband Dr told me that I could have diet pop/soda if I buy a bottle and open the top and let it set a few days so all the fizz is gone. He said he's had a few patients that couldn't give up the diet coke that do that even though it doesn't taste so good.

August 3rd here with Dr. Boutt in Port Huron! I am so happy happy happy! I've already given up pop and I gave up caffiene right along with it.
