Still awaiting my vintage sock monkey PJ's to replace the old 3X ones... No deliveries today. BUT hubby returned after his haircut and grocery run for chili fixings with these new friends for Bobby @ Woof Gang bakery. He gave to Bobby several opportunities to select his favorite AND unequivocally, it's the Fluffy Chick! Now, why would none of us here be surprised by that choice? See what happens when your compression garments after 11 days become your constant OOTD fashion statement and faithful companion! Maybe mine is pulled a little too tight. LOL. Going slightly stir crazy here. Any fun Super Bowl outfits in those closets!?

I don’t have hardware but I have had a failed back surgery. I am bone on bone at L3/L4
i had a severe increase in pain at that area post bypass. They hang you upside down on a table during surgery. My surgery was 5.5 hours long. I am thinking that is what aggravated my back. I can’t normally even lay flat on my back while conscious. My pain is getting better each week I get out from surgery. I hope that the same happens for you.

I don’t see people here making excuses to eat junk-I see people making good plans to stay with healthy stuff during a real life situation. Good job to those planning ahead to stay on track! We’ll have a veggie tray, deli meat tray, and cheese tray that I’m planning to pick from at our party. Maybe a couple pieces of fruit too. And I’m stocking up on Vitamin Water zero as well, but will fit in a glass of wine by running on the treadmill in the morning before the party.

Please go to the er NOW!! Do not wait with this. Throwing up blood is very serious. If you don’t have someone to take you please call an ambulance.
please update us when you are able to do so. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and praying for a good outcome.
it is disturbing that your dr said it’s normal and did not check you out to see what was going on. I do hope that you head to the er and have them take a look. Throwing up blood is never normal.

    Life Updates:
It has been 1 full year since I met #Bumblebae and I believe were are calling it an anniversary VERY soon.
Now I don't usually care about stuff like that but I think he might. I hope no special dates/gifts are involved because i didn't plan ahead or get him anything. I may have to scramble to pull it off.
This relationship has been... surprising. We love each other in a realistic way and the emotional level seem mutual. I think it's something hard to find these days. He's seen me through many iterations and has embraced them all. During the brief period we had a lag/lull in the relationship I felt comfortable telling him my observations and we have really attempted to work on it together. I REALLY appreciate that type of matched effort.
We are not perfection personified by any stretch of the imagination. I'm a hyper, pushy, energetic east coast morning lark. He's a reserved, gloomy, analytical mid west night owl. Super divergent yet complementary. Over and over again, we are dedicated to making this flourish under even the most arid conditions we may face.
I really really like this relationship. It feels... Good. I think I am off the market, permanently. 💚

Hi Lisa, I’m in Ireland so I’ll just reply about your upcoming trip. You should have no problem meeting your Protein goals here. Generally most restaurants have Soup, chicken and fish options which most places would be happy to adjust for you if requested. If you choose to go to a cavery then they offer kid size portions if meet, potato and veg etc.
if you are eating on the road, a lot of petrol stations have sandwich bars where they will make you up a salad to order so chicken, tuna, eggs, cheese all available there. And fast food outlets are quickly adapting to having healthy options, grilled chicken sambo being most popular.
Finally, we have lovely protein bars here called Fulfil, loads of Flavors and available in basically every shop in Ireland, including the airport.
    Hope this helps.
We also have a load of breweries for the hubbie:)

Yes. That’s what I was told and have heard. I asked the doctor, I saw last week (my surgeon is on maternity leave!) and he said it’s very minimal that it causes cancer. I know I cannot live everyday, all day, with this heartburn! And the vomitting at night time, half the time anyways.
I def want to get rid of this. Had heartburn prior to sleeve and in my 20s but not like this. Can’t live the rest of life like it. Wow. I’ve been on PPIs for a while now. Years even before surgery. Went away and back now with a vengeance. I hope this coordinator is wrong when he says “don’t get your hopes up”

On my 90-day medically supervised diet required by Medicare. Have 2nd weigh-in Feb 17. My goal weight before last weigh-in is 229. This AM my weight is 233 Will likely get below 229 a month early. Getting excited about having gastric sleeve surgery.
I will be 67 in March and have 5 comorbidities. My BMI is 45. My PCP told me in December I was now pre-diabetic. That made my decision for WLS immediately. Already have PCP approval and Psych Eval.
I drink one Premier Protein to replace a meal each day. Really like Caramel flavor and will likely continue this plan for several months after surgery. Just discovered Sam's Club has 12-pack for $17.79 which is huge savings. So immediately bought membership for $45 and ordered two 12-packs for store pickup tomorrow.
So if any of you have a Sam's Club nearby and drink Premeir Protein, check it out.

We've successfully helped several GHI members get revisions so please be optimistic - BTW, whether or not you regain weight is IRRELEVANT since changing eating patterns due to severe GERD is not only common, but often a necessary way people can tolerate ANYTHING! Let us know if you're submission is denied before anyone at the doc's office does something that might hurt your chances of being approved and GOOD LUCK! GERD really sucks so hopefully you get approved without a problem.
