  1. It’s hard to slow downs I literally have to take a small bite and put the utensils down or if it’s a finger food I also put down and focus on my chewing and even when I’m done with that bite i wait a few seconds. Sorry that happened to you! I’ve ate fast and o just feel like I’m choking so I force myself to burp and it’s not fun
  2. If any of you want to check out my poshmark closet here’s my username: bianca_saucedo
  3. I have shared a few early on but to add to that list is to walk more
  4. Thank you!! That ricotta bake sounds sounds yummy
  5. Really?!? I had a rash on my sides of my hips up to my bra line and and a few little spots on my stomach. I have a red ring that grew about 2 inches around and is warm only around 1 incision tho (the one they took my stomach out of). It didn’t hurt/ doesn’t hurt. I was told at my two week that the ring around my incision is most likely a reaction and my rash is from the wipes they used to prep me. My rash is gone but the ring is probably about an half inch around still. Was told to remove the glue from the one but I’m afraid that it will pull my stitching. But probably should.
  6. Help What are you eating on soft foods? I’m getting tired of - tuna with a little mayo and a little cheese to up my protein - eggs - cottage cheese - thinly sliced deli meat turkey breast rolled with a reduced fat string cheese - Atkins French vanilla protein shakes
  7. Awesome glad to hear all is going better for you! How did you know you are allergic to the glue?
  8. Awesome, what do you use for fiber supplements in your water? I agree, I was given protein bars from a co worker who had rny almost 3 years ago and was four Curious. My mom (and me) doesn’t want me to have them also for that reason of bringing back bad habits
  9. I heard from my surgeon that the stomach heals 4-6 weeks. I get that feeling when I’m moving laying down and I was told it will go away once stomach is fully healed. One of my incision stitch/scab fell out and left a small hole where it’s healing so it closed but i was also told to try not to do any bending or rotating still to make sure non of them open up or scabs don’t fall off sooner than it needs
  10. Yes I can’t stand the smell of warming up tortillas (family eating them, not me), raw onion. I use to love jello or “jels” cups and now I can’t stand them and I have a few still from pre op.
  11. How much did or are you eating at 3 weeks post op VSG? Tomorrow will be my 3 weeks post op. I’m curious if I’m eating too much (I can eat up to 4oz). The pictures attached are all the guidelines I was given and even on the example meal plan seems way too much. I wasn’t given a calorie goal or anything. My mom was curious on how I was doing so she had me go on the scale Thursday and I had gained 1.6lbs. I know it’s not much but because I’m only on week 3. I make my protein goal of 50-60 grams a day but I’m always short from my 64oz of water by 20oz. I been back to work for 4 days now and I make it a priority to walk home from work since I live not even a mile from my job. Some NSV I have had since surgery are that I can almost touch my thumb and middle finger together around my wrist, I can sit on a conference room chair comfortably without the arm rests going into the sides of my thighs (now it still does but not as much as it use to), I see my face slimmer and as well as my stomach, I can wear jackets I had to put in the back of my closet because my arms were too big and I couldn’t zip them up.
  12. How is it going for you? Have you had any problems at almost 3 weeks post op? How much is your intake and what stage are you on? Have any of you tried Protein Bars or Protein chips/crackers? It’s going ok for me, since i been advanced to soft/solids foods I haven’t felt or seen a difference. I can only eat up to 4oz. Not sure if I’m having too much or what. It also depends on what I’m having it’s 2-4 Oz. Do you weigh or measure with measuring cups? I was just curious on how i was doing so I stepped on the scale and I gained 1.6lbs, hoping I’m just retaining Water. I also have been having trouble with bowel movements since on stage 3. I know stay off the scale, I’m trying to only go on on Mondays. I know right now is all about getting all your Water, Protein and Vitamins in.
  13. Bummed, it’s a busy day for me so I instacarted a few groceries and one of my items were SF popsicle and they brought me regular :(
  14. Im too shy to talk to anyone about this. I have not had my period for over a year now and today I was surprised it came back. I heard that having Bariatric surgery sometimes helps women get it. Does anyone know why? This may be TMI and if so sorry!! Today was just horrible day, I didn’t drink not even half of the water I’m suppose to and i know it’s a must. So I didn’t have to use the restroom till tonight (that’s how little I drank today, I know that’s bad). Who knows when I started because not even an hour ago (it’s 8:44 as I’m typing this) I had to use the restroom and that’s when I noticed. Thank Goodness I didn’t leak through my jeans at work. Because I haven’t had it in so long I couldn’t pin point why 1. I was craving sweets (had a SF popsicle to help with that since I’m a little over 2 weeks post op from VSG) 2. I was moody/emotional and lazy 3. Just uncomfortable
  15. Aweome!! Oh no, maybe ask your team what you can do to help. I struggle with that but on solids/semi solids, started 3 days ago and I’ve only gone once. I’m doing fine I feel great and can’t wait to see the progress of me losing :)
  16. Hey it’s better than nothing! Keep pushing! I find on my walk home from work (not even a mile) I get down 16oz. Today is the first day I’ve gotten 40oz not including soups or protein shakes, just water and Gatorade zero. Other days were only 28oz without protein shakes. I know I’m 2 weeks post op and I get that stick when moving from laying on my stomach to my back.
  17. Egg whites was my first meal with some sugar free bbq sauce.
  18. I haven’t had anything not set well in my new pouch yet I’ve only tried tuna with light mayo, egg whites with sugar free bbq, cottage cheese and with a couple ritz crackers. On my liquids/semi liquid I had protein shakes, Gatorade zero, liquid yogurt Low sugar and non fat, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, sugar free popsicle and strained soups. I am telling myself not to have bread or pasta due to high carbs and that’s what had me gaining a lot before Surgery.
  19. Hello so I’m on day 2 on my stage 3 solids/soft foods stage. I was only given a protein goal of 50-60 grams a day but no fat or carb intake goal. I’m my paperwork i was only told 7-9 servings of protein to get to my 50-60grams in, 1-3 servings of fat.
  20. Darn autocorrect I meant eating not earring lol
  21. Can you have fig fruit on stage 3? On my examples of food given to me for stage 2 and 3 Canned pears, canned peaches, banana mashed or puréed, watermelon, applesauce. But at the bottom it says “you are not limited to this list”
  22. I would get crystal light or Gatorade zero and medicine cups to help you sip on everything
  23. Are you chewing really well to an applesauce consistency? And earring slowly?
  24. oh wow that is awesome! As hard as it is because I love to shop I have not bought anything lol I haven't even tried on my jeans I been living out of my leggings and workout pants but I'm a little afraid to try my jeans on because of were they sit will be on one of my incisions. that is awesome how you were aloud to start solid/soft foods right out of the hospital. my surgeon had me on stage 1 clear liquids in hospital and started stage 2 liquids until my follow up and now on stage 3. So far I've had an equal amount of egg whites to a full egg with a tiny bit of sugar free bbq which was enough for me, lunch I had 2 oz of homemade split pea soup and for dinner I've had 2oz of cottage cheese on reduced fat ritz crackers. so far all has set well
