Any August 2019 people out there?
I can't even drink one, I get about 2 ounces of it then I'm stuffed. I'm having a really hard time with the desire to drink anything. You just have to force yourself. My mom thankfully took the week off to help me out. She literally was on me about drinking ever couple minutes

Any August 2019 people out there?
Yes that’s how it was for me too my first week. I only used the cups for week 1 because o drank too fast once during the week because I wasn’t using them and I felt really nauseous. And now I can sip without using them

Any August 2019 people out there?
It was sure difficult I had the gastric sleeve but what I found helpful was using the medicine cups and drinking one per 15 minutes just like they started me out in the hospital and now I’m doing much better

What to bring with to the hospital
I was told I wouldn’t need to bring my inhaler, i too barely use it. I had taken and used :phone, phone charger, hairbrush, face wipes and my glasses cleaner. What I took but didn’t use: adult coloring book and marker(I had a morning surgery), hand lotion, face lotion, flushable wipes. I was asleep most of the day after surgery until about 4 I wanted to walk. Wore same clothes there and from

Stage 3
What was your first solid/soft food you tried, when you started stage 3? I had my two week follow up (3days early because Monday they’re closed and that’s when it would be exactly 2 weeks) and I have a lost 19lbs. I was told I can start stage 3 today but I’m starting tomorrow. Also what are some tips you can give me? I know one thing at a time as well as a little at a time like 2oz.

Has this happened to anyone?
I told my surgeon today at my follow up and he told me I probably over did it and with barely anything in me that caused it but he said that will happen and it’s nice to pin point

Incision Care
Oh no. Also has it been itchy for you around the glue?

Where are my water guzzlers?
I think it depends on where your at post op. For me I’m on stage 2 liquids/Semi liquids so no solids are going in. I think chiptress is also on the stage as me

Incision Care
Is it a glue? They put a glue over my stitches to help prevent infection. It’s suppose to start lifting and peeling on its own within 7-10 according to my surgeon and discharge nurse. I was told not to submerge myself in water (showers were okay) and no creams. I too had surgery on 8/19/19 VSG

Has this happened to anyone?
Today I woke up around 9am ish and I still have no appetite just so you know. I Grab myself a Atkins chocolate protein shake for breakfast (first time trying the chocolate kind and i felt fine after my first couple sips so I continued) and I still can only drink half at a time. When I was done it was around 10:00 and Had a few sips of Gatorade zero At 10:30. At around 10:45 I decided to go for a walk and made myself a task to walk around my court for 10 minutes since last week I would do you 5 minutes 2 times a day. Well today during my walk I felt fine I didn’t think I pushed it until I came back inside my house and sat down. I felt slightly nauseous. At about 11:00 The nausea I have had lesson so I decided to make an appointment to get my nails done and at around 12 I started to get more nauseous, more than earlier! I thought it’s fine it’ll go away like earlier so at 12:45 I started to get ready to leave for my appointment to the nail salon and I sit down crying from how nauseous I was. I felt like throwing up but I wouldn’t. I ended up calling at 1:15 to cancel my appointment. After that I was telling my mother whom stayed home with me last week just Incase and she was telling me to just rest and not go anywhere. So I lay down and fell asleep at 1:40 and woke up an hour later feeling like nothing happened. Has this happened to anyone? I am 8 days post op Surgery weight: 266.8 Current weight as of yesterday: 254

Surgery Today
Glad to hear your doing good! Was the pain with water in your stomach or in your chest? I felt pressure in my chest the first few days. Also was the water cold? I was told to have room temp/ was given room temp in the hospital so I wouldn’t get stomach cramps/pain.

Strongman Lifting
Hi i know I am not a guy but i had the same thoughts as you! I am still in recovery but I’m a part of a boot camp weight training with a little cardio type of gym and by my surgeons instructions i can’t return till after 6weeks. And even then, i have to listen to my body but I can’t wait. I would ask your surgeon and tell him why type of gym you attend so he/she gives you their best opinion.

Stomach sleeper
For those of you who sleep on your stomach (not sides), how long did it take for you to try to sleep on your stomach after surgery? I am 5days post op and I can fall asleep on my right side but not my left. I am. Full stomach sleeper but I’m afraid to try just because I do have discomfort when I try to lay on my left still. Also, when I lay on my side I feel like everything inside shifts down with a little discomfort but not much unless I try my left side, that’s when the discomfort is there a lot which is the reason why I haven’t tried to lay on my stomach . My surgeon said I can lay on my stomach whenever. Just want to see how it was for others. Thanks

8/19/19- the day that will change my life!
Hello I’m doing good. Today has been easier drinking. I even was able to sleep for the first time since surgery on my right side (I’m a stomach sleeper) but not my left yet. Liquids/semi liquid stage 2 for me has been difficult since I have no appetite I have to remind myself to have something that’s not just water or a sugar free drink. How are you?
