  1. Woke up feeling pretty guilty this morning. Christmas day wasnt too good. I spent it at my boyfriends moms house and it was almost impossible to avoid the bad, yet oh so good stuff lol. I haven't had a drink since surgery but my streak ended yesterday. I was given shots, glasses of wine, and mixed drinks all night. When I tried to reject, they would insist and give it to me anyways. Food choices/options weren't too good either. I forgot to take a before pic but on my plate was Portuguese cod cakes, general tso, broccoli i picked out of a bowl of rice, a piece of deep fried beer battered cod, and pepper jack cheese and olives. As far as desserts go, they were all flour based. I managed to avoid the orange cake but I CHOSE to have these 4 little walnut cups his mom makes. You can kinda see them in the rumchata shot pic towards the left. They were delicious but all i kept thinking about was the amount of flour I was having. I know one day doesn't do damage but I was paranoid.........I'm working on this. Oh and I also had a bite of panetone, a piece of dark chocolate filled with johnny walker whiskey, and lots of cheese and pepperoni snacks. This is not from Christmas but a holiday party at work from the 20th. I threw it in because I still feel guilty about eating at and I feel like i need to confess or something. Its cheesecake topped with dulce de leche and condensed milk. This thing was wayyyyy too sweet for me but everyone devoured it in seconds. Since I'm in a small office it was noticeable that I didn't eat mine. One of my coworkers kept making fun of me for not eating it throughout the entire party until i eventually gave in and ate most of it...
  2. Heres the Christmas Eve meal i had at my house. I made lasagna too..... way too much lasagna. I did one small pan of ground turkey and zucchini for me and 4 huge pans the traditional way for the rest of my family. Took me 3 hours ? They took care of the rest of the cooking. Just like thanksgiving I stuck to the lighter foods, and avoided desserts. Christmas day ... well thats a different story. Zucchini Lasagna: It was my first time making it this way and I loved it! Didnt miss the pasta too much.
  3. This is exactly how I felt while waking up this morning lol
  4. Im not a crazy coffee drinker, and when I do drink coffee its always black, but this...... wow! Makes me want a creamy ice coffee! Im drooling lol
  5. Weekend before Christmas has been crazy for me! Heres dinner from tonight. Just want to say thank you to everyone posting on this thread. It has made me venture out and try new foods and ideas. I see so many salads with pumpkin seeds so I took a trip to whole foods to give them a try. Turns out I love them and I don't think i can go back to eating a salad with some kind of seed or nut in it! I also bought a zoodle maker on amazon and I'm looking forward to testing it out!
  6. I need to get me an air fryer. My bestfriends mom is suppose to show me how to make cambodian spring rolls so Id like to see what it would be like to fry them in there. I also want a ninja foodie
  7. I can cry if I think about it too much lol
  8. Thank you! ❤️ That's my hair in natural state, no heat, or products. Its more wavy than anything but I tend to have a lot of crazy frizz days too lol
  9. I agree! i haven't gone shopping since surgery
  10. Day of surgery 8/5/19 VS Pic taken on 11/30/19 Slight difference but I have a long way to go!
  11. Dont beat yourself up, you live and you learn. It takes time to get use to these new rules but eventually you will get use to them. I did the same thing during my puree stage and took a bite of broccoli while I was cooking it to see if it was ready and I instantly threw up.
  12. Congratulations!! great nsv! Look at that difference !
  13. I miss rice! oh how I miss it... ? it feels like something is missing in my meals. It truly breaks my heart. All the rice I miss: arroz chaufa, arroz verde peruano, arroz a la jardinera, arroz con gandules, arroz con vegetales, arroz con mariscos, arroz con habichuelas y salchichas, arroz anaranjado... the list can go on. I also miss cuban sandwiches.
  14. I was also told the rule is for life. Out of all the sacrifices that wls patients need to make, this one is the hardest for me. I get so thirsty after eating and to not be able to drink anything for 30 minutes really drives me nuts. Im hoping one day i get use to it.
  15. Omg congratulationssss!!!! Such an amazing accomplishment! I also admire your water intake lol
  16. i know I'm going to need plastics, especially on the arms so this will be interesting. Cant wait to see the progress! Congrats!
  17. My first "official" steak yesterday. Ate it with a small salad and sautéed onions & tomatoes in red wine and soy sauce. No problems eating it. I ended up putting the salad in a bowl because i didnt have room to cut my steak. I only took two bites of it. Hope my well done steak doesnt bother anyone. My friends cringe every time I order medium well - well done.
  18. This is a great way to have pizza with little calories! Im going to try this, thank you! I'm not a fan of gingerbread cookies but these make my mouth water lol They look nice and plump compared to the ones Ive had. Is the serving size one cookie? 38 calories is amazing. This makes me want a turkey wrap with cheese! I remember you posting a burger wrapped in lettuce and I ended up trying it the other day. Surprisingly, i didnt even miss the bread. The only thing is, I need your wrapping skills. The pastrami wrap looks perfect. Thanks for the idea _______________________________ Dont mind me, I'm very hungry this morning lol I also didnt get a chance to say it yesterday but I was super impressed by these low cal meals.
  19. Its almost 5pm and its my first meal of the day. Had a late start this morning.
  20. What types of dishes have you been making? Maybe we can give you ideas Ive always loved cooking but I will say that after surgery I love it even more. Ive found it fun and interesting to take meals I love and make them into a healthier version. Every Sunday I plan what I'm going to eat that week and stick to it. I do have days where Im hungrier than usual so what Ill do is have more fluid or some kind of dense protein like tuna. When I meet my protein goal Ill usually have a 1/2 cup of cherios if Im hungry. I think fear of eating too much is normal. Its something that I think about 24/7 but I found it helpful to track every bite so that I know how much I'm eating and if in reality I'm overdoing it.
  21. The stalls are bound to happen, especially after you lost so much weight. 107 pounds in 6 months isn't just anything. Im hoping to lose 100 as well by my 6 month mark. Congratulations!
  22. Thanks!! And 170 is definitely obtainable!
