  1. lmaoo I can see how you find it funny... or even crazy ?. The truth is I'm crazy and pills scare me. But you're right! I may be "fine" now but if i don't take care of my weight now Ill have other health problems later down the line. Ill keep this in mind!
  2. lol same, but last night I had a dream that has me a bit on edge and contemplating my decision. In my dream i just got out of surgery and I was lying on the bed still under anesthesia. The surgery went fine, no complications, and everything looked good, but I began having an out of body experience. I saw the surgeon and nurses prepare a to-go bag full of pills! I remember hearing "one multivitamin, two iron, two vitamin d" and etc. as they added each one to the clear sandwich bag. I don't remember all the ones the listed but it was a lot. They also had a look of horror on their face and said something along the lines of idk how anyone could have this surgery and have to take this many pills a day for the rest of their life. I cant get the image out of my head of all those pills. it looked like there were about 50 of them in that bag. I barely want to take tylenol when i have a headache so i can see why this may scare me.
  3. Thanks! And I've been getting the same reaction when I tell others too! Everyone is saying congrats lol. I told the nurse at my dermatologist office, and my foot doctor's office and they reacted the same way as you described, like if I won something.
  4. Hopefully your 1 week goes by fast! They told me to do two weeks of liquid with one small meal per day. I wonder how much we'll be suffering during this liquid stage though. Although I've heard that losing weight before surgery is important to lower your risk, I just cant help but think about trying to squeeze in my favorite meals before the liquid diet ? Im pretty sure Korean BBQ is out the window once I get sleeved...
  5. Thats awesome!!! Im already getting super nervous! They told me to start the preop diet July 22. Are you starting that the same day as me?
  6. Sorry everyone.. I've been positing here thinking my date would be July but I just got a call from my surgeons office giving me a date of August 5th. Hopefully I can still follow you all and your journey!
  7. I'm August 5th as well! I just got my date today! Cant believe it
  8. My surgeons office called me yesterday to tell me that they submitted everything to my insurance company and that it will be 7-10 days for a response. Once approved, they are looking to book my surgery for the end of July! Soooo manyyy emotionssss!
  9. Love the attitude and your mindset! "Nobody is going to make me feel bad about wanting to live." I need to start thinking a little more like you! I stop myself from doing so much because of how I feel about my body. Its time to get for this journey and learn to embrace it!
  10. You see, I'm paranoid. My thought process is this: If I say hiatal hernia, once they see me dropping weight they will think I lied about the surgery and know that I did have stomach surgery but not the one I said. Maybe a simple vacation abroad will do it? I wont get to use my sick time but it might be worth the hassle of trying to explain myself.
  11. I dont know many people who got their tonsils removed as an adult so that might be perfect. Owwwww i cant imagine being in that much pain. I need to have 3 wisdom teeth removed and I have been avoiding it... for a few years lol
  12. Hahah wow i hope I get that lucky!
  13. Thank you for starting this convo again! I've been trying to find an excuse too. Im also worried about the recovery time. I was thinking of saying gallbladder but someone told me recovery time for that is only a couple days. I want to take a week or two off for this just to make sure Im ok. I don't know what kind of surgery has a week recovery time.
  14. You're almost there! Congrats! I feel you with the whole losing weight thing, its tough. Im trying to force myself to go to the gym but the thought of judgement stops me from going. Im hoping things change once I have surgery. Also, they say the surgery also eliminates certain cravings you may have. Maybe avoiding sugary drinks wont be so hard for you until after the surgery. Yesterday was my last required nutritionist visit (#6) and i finished everything else. Im just waiting on a call from my surgeon. Hopefully everything goes smooth with my insurance and I get a date for July. I've been having some concerns though... 1. The pain ill be in after the surgery. 2. Forgetting to take my vitamins and dying (Im probably being dramatic here) 3. The excuse I have to come up with for my coworkers and anyone not close to me as to why Im rapidly losing weight.
  15. My psych evaluation is today too! 15 minutes is pretty quick! I wonder how long mines will be. Just think... once we get this done its one less item checked off the list. Good luck! ?
  16. Lol Ive had friends say the same thing. Oh and a bit off topic but one time a coworker and I were talking about our shopping over the weekend and she was describing the clothes she bought and I mentioned a few items I bought as well. I just said they were blouses and mentioned the color/pattern and the occasion I bought them for and she says "oh, sounds like they might look flattering." I was so thrown off..
  17. I'm sorry this happened to you, its honestly none of her business. Next time if anyone asks if you had WLS I would respond with "Have you?" ?
