LOL, can't wait to be set on fire! You are gonna look fab-u-lous.
  2. Well....the left side looks right up my alley...the right side, though...? ? Although, I could be convinced to think otherwise, as I don't think I have ever (knowingly) eaten lentils before.... Do they taste like beans? Or risotto? Quinoa?
  3. Since you already received the requisite comments about drinking above, I will just answer your specific question. I was sleeved, and was told no alcohol for the first month. Beyond that, was told to determine on my own what I can handle, but the general recommendation was to try to abstain. With that said, here is MY timeline: 3 weeks post op: 2-3 sips of red wine (felt weird, thought I could feel the warmth going down my intestines). Also I remember being affected by it. Not drunk or even tipsy...but something. 2-ish months post op: ~1 fl oz of soju-sake (got terribly sick within 15 or so minutes, spent the next few hours suffering : rapid heart rate/barf/diarrhea/lethargy/passed out...it was the sugar, dammit). 3-7 months post op: probably had 4-5 (partial) drinks of either red wine or vodka soda the entire time (got tipsy really fast, got sober equally fast). 8 months to present : drank more (mostly due to the fact that I was done with weight loss phase). Maybe 1-2 times a week at first (and sometimes none at all), then Covid came around, and since about may-june last year, I drink almost every day. I still get tipsy and sober pretty quickly....not as drastic as in the early months, but still. Generally, I can feel the effects by 1/2 the glass, and if I finish the whole thing, I will be completely normal again within 1-1.5 hours. So take this as validation, justification, or as a cautionary tale. You decide. P.S. note that the effects will be different for everyone...I am pretty small (5'2", 110 lbs), so this definitely influences how I am affected. @The Greater Fool's suggestion to try it out in a safe place first is a good one.

Im not usually a jealous person, but the one thing that has me eating envy pie are people who are blessed with HEIGHT. You look so tall and slim its killing me. If you post a pic in a body con dress and heels i will burst into green flames. (Please post a pic in a body con dress and heels!!!) P.S. and no, its not your responsibility to dress “appropriately” lest you entice the hoard of “bad boys” into “going nuts”. It’s THIER responsibility to check their misogynistic attitudes and internalize that yes, you CAN control yourselves in the presence of attractive women. And, no, it is not acceptable nor normal nor legal. Sorry. I held off for a day. I couldn’t resist anymore.
  5. Made lasagna last night but I used store bought packaged dry noodles. Since I popped my pasta cherry last week with no adverse effects, figured I’d have some. Pretty good, but I think I’ll just stick to eating homemade pasta noodles. I found the store bought ones on the thick side. They ate up most of it...there’s about 1/3 of a tray left. Ate about 1/2 cup-ish : guessing 200 calories:
  6. Did you bake this yourself? I am going to assume so as store bought yumminess is nornally never this loaded with the good stuff!! #sooooooooYum Its funny how we think 1/8 of a cake is a “huge” slice, when in fact its a regular serving. I remember having like double, triple that amount and going back for more later. Cant wait until berries are in season over here. While i could buy them in grocery now, they are awfully tiny. Recipe???
  7. I have a sleeve...it was more like sore, like I did 1000 crunches or something. It did hurt to cough or sneeze though. Oh, and going over bumps on the ride home...i brought a small pillow to hug. I didn't have any trapped gas pain either. I did take pain meds on discharge day and nothing after that. Pain does seem to vary alot from person to person though.
  8. Awwwww i like the cute little pepper slices on top
  9. My attempt at sushi sans actual fish. I had some extra tobiko from yesterday and a package of imitation crab I forgot to use so... Also roasted some pork belly that was served to the fam with sushi rice and an onion-garlic-vinegar-soy dipping sauce. My plate is never as pretty as the actual spread. Sigh. 307 calories, plus 1/2 a teacup of yuzu sake (+109 calories) Ate/drank it all. There is some fab blue cheese dip in the fridge that I can hear calling my name...will likely have some with some carrots shortly so may as well log it now (+92 calories) So I guess that's 508 calories total.

Oh, I hear ya on the clothes options...the possibilities are endless. Nice work!

I think it all comes down to what YOU are comfortable with and what YOU are willing to do, and whether or not you are comfortable if these two things don't line up. If you are comfortable with a lower/higher/"normal" weight, and can live contentedly with what you have to do to maintain it (and have no adverse physical or mental effects), then who is to say you are eating too little/too much/too varied/not varied enough? Its when one's way of life is giving one grief/anxiety/dissatisfaction/health issues that I would think one would need to re-evaluate both their efforts and their expectations, either on one's own, or with some professional help. I can appreciate how Creek's post may apply to many, but definitely not all. And I will give the benefit of the doubt that this post is directed to those who ARE having issues with adhering to plan and are beating themselves up over it, trying to fit themselves into a VLCD or similar that just is not working for them, and NOT the ones who find success in it. P.S. I went sub-800 cals my entire weight loss phase and came out the other side pretty good (so far) As far as I can remember, I did not experience feelings of starvation, deprivation, nor intense fomo, I did not have anxiety nor fear spirals, get depressed nor changed my social habits...unless you count going out MORE. I did not stall, if looking at results weekly. I had what I considered ridiculous amounts of energy (sorta still do). From what I can tell, my metabolism is serving me very well, my last bone density scan this past November was actually better than my baseline taken 1 mnth post-op, my doc has zero concerns about my lab results. Will I be able to maintain this current lifestyle? Who really knows. But its working for me. Today. Just as what I was doing during weight loss phase was working for me. Back then. If/when it is no longer working, it's my hope that I will adjust accordingly, or at least accept a new normal. Nothing is forever.
  12. LOL...yeah the fam thinks these are aberrations as well. They prefer the Double-Stuff version. I like these cuz they are cute (plus I'm more into the cookie than the filling anyway).
  13. Yes, I have a special spot in my heart for San Antonio and that riverwalk ?. Though I also remember getting lost and driving round and round that circle highway of theirs, which was frustrating, lolololzzzz. I was working from home (when I was working), though practically everybody I know personally in my area has been working from home for over a year...except for the couple educators and medical professionals I know. Though starting today my teacher pals will also be working from home (they hate doing online teaching!) Covid Sucks!!!!!!!!
  14. As of midnight tontie we are going back down for 4 weeks....our gov't's plan to curb the third wave. I've only been to Texas once (San Antonio) years ago, I'd love to go again, even just to cook for you and your fam, lol. Though our lockdown sorta prevents me from flying out of here easily anyway (not to mention coming back in).
  15. I call your donut and raise you 2 Oreo Thins (70 calories)
  16. Spent the afternoon cooking my lockdown woes away and made the fam a homemade Dim Sum feast: 40 Sui Mai (steamed shrimp & pork dumplings), 10 Char Sui Cheung Fun (BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Rolls), and a large pile Yam Tempura. I had to take a phone call, and by the time I came back, this was all that was left. I swear, these people are vacuum cleaners. I had 2 of the Sui Mai and the solitary Yam w/ a tsp of dipping sauce: 168 calories

Yay you! (Though I do have to say you were/are still quite the hottie even in your before pic!....Also you don't look 235lbs in that pic, for reals, nor do you look 5'3", lol) Can't wait to see more pics ❤️
  18. @MarissaD : Yes, your haircut is lovely,...but your EYEBROWS! ? (In BOTH your Before AND your After pics) Congrats on your weight losses!
  19. I can think of a few "negative" side-effects from results of the WLS (i.e., weight loss), but really, none that would not be considered as mere skinny-girl problems by my old bigger self. But...I do have one negative that came about due to the WLS itself, that needs legitimate addressing (probably for life): Nighttime Relfux. I never had it before, but since surgery, I need to make sure that I go to bed on an empty stomach, and that I have my head/upper body elevated when I'm asleep. If I don't, I will wake up with some stomach contents in my mouth sometime in the middle of the night which is wildly unpleasant. I'm all good when I'm awake, and I know how to manage it with my sleeping arrangements, so its not that bad, but it is annoying.
  20. So if I add that up correctly, you are not to be on "regular" foods until at least 4.5 (and at most 7.5) months post-op? That's is probably the longest prescribed soft foods phase I have ever read on here. You may very well be in maintenance by then!

Yeah, our numbers have been on a steep incline the last month or so, and keeps picking up speed. Ugh.

In my pathetic, personal protest to the new stay-out-home order going into effect tonite in my area, I have vowed to only wear pajamas for the next 4 weeks...even to the grocery store, dammit. This effing new development has effectively cancelled a long-awaited and fraught-secured cottage getaway that was planned for the end of this month. Arrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggg. Covid sucks the big one. It could suck my big one, if I had one. Maybe Mr. can loan his. Actually on second thought, it can find its own. Arrrrrrrggggggggggg.
  23. This is funny and gross at the same time. hahahhaha.....eeeewwwwww....
  24. I get munchy a couple days before my period...and then go through a couple days of the opposite of that DURING my period cuz I feel ugh/bloated and don't want to eat...so I suppose it evens out... But I've been like this even before I had WLS?
  25. Ok, i take it back. I incorrectly assumed you were living a way of life that was satisfying and “working”. Aside from continuing to ask for guidance from your team (who I realize is not being very helpful for you!). Can you align yourself with an alternate Bariatric team? Also, I’d like to suggest some therapy if you are willing and able...
