ok! so first i put it in the microwave for like 2 mins to soften it so i can cut it. acorn squashes are HARD!! cut in half, place cut side down in oven to ROAST for 20-ish mins at 350°F, then cut side up with a dollop of butter (and optional brown sugar) in the cavity for another 30-ish mins. if its soft enough for ur liking its done! (so yum!...also, i ALWAYS add the "optional" brown sugar )

Low Vitamin A after surgery
i had low levels of vitamin a the first 3-4 months. and yeah, ur right, for some reason most multivitamins dont seem to include much of it...so my doc had me take extra vitamins a (via supplements) during those months, until he was satisfied with my levels (i had my labs done 6 times the first 6 months) low vitamin a (all vitamins, really) is common among wls patients cuz we really just dont eat enough (i basically ate almost nothing the first 3 months)! Also, when u eat alot of protein (like we are all told to do), our vitamin A needs increase. further, prolonged protein UNDER-eating hampers vitamin a storage and transport within our bodies and blood systems (science, baby!) once i started eating more my levels became satisfactory. (fish, eggs, dairy! yum! green leafy stuff, practically all fruits and veggies! also yum! but liver too...not so very yum, ha) do you/have you ever track/tracked your macro consumption?

don't judge me! had a 2.5 hour back to back hot power yoga classes tonight and came home absolutely STARVING. grabbed what was available before i even showered omg: a cold mini butter chicken meat pie, a can of smoked oysters w/ seafood sauce, and almost-expired blue cheese. 427 calories for all of it...scarfed it all in like 30 mins (except the meat pie crust...not very appetizing when cold. ew.)

Finally on the other side!
my stomach had full on conversations with me for the first two or so years post op. it was pretty loud too, omg. i'm 6+ years out and on the rare occasions it may make a sound here or there...like maybe once every 2-3 weeks. i can't figure out the circumstances that makes it happen, these days, but i don't have any ill effects, so i'm not that concerned....

Help!! Too low body fat percentage
for funsies, here are a couple of pics that i googled what body fat % typically looks like on women (these pics show big diffs as to what 12% looks like, but i'd go with the less "ripped" one (the 1st slide) for realism purposes, ha. my last scan indicated i was at 18-20%. in real life i look pretty much between the 15-20% pics in the first slide, but more like the 20-22% pic in the second slide (if not just a little bit fatter actually...) so if you look like any of the first pics of either slide, your scan was probably right.

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win???
...am actually contemplating this! Ha!

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win???
i did boxing for a spell last year (went 3 times a week for about 2 months). its an arm workout alright! (and abs and back, with a crazy amount of cardio for added measure omg) Mr. says boxing is what gave me my "boulder shoulders" hahahhaha. BUT...i threw out my left shoulder AND right elbow (from going too hard i guess? or probably just bad form) and that ended my boxing career :(... i still have lingering left shoulder injury arg. so the lesson im sharing is: stay healthy during boxing and you can achieve (and maintain!) a pretty awesome physique!

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win???
win today: FINALLY got Mr. to agree to come to hot yoga with me!!! not sure he loves it as much as me (yet!!), but he's committed to the 15 day trail, and said he'll come with me whenever i go (which is every day! ha!) i have fantasies of going to yoga retreats in Bali (with him) so crossing fingers he gets on board!!

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win???
perhaps maybe just get leggings that are just all out too small for you? vs. aiming to fit ur current size? you will eventually shrink into them anyway, PLUS they wont roll down as much! AND you'll get more mileage out of them

Body Dysmorphia
"friends" of mine used to call me "skinny b*tch". and when i was all heeey! they said it was a compliment. no, B*TCH, "b*tch" is not a compliment. they don't say that to me anymore (at least not to my face, ha!)

Body Dysmorphia
im 6 yrs out and i still sometimes think XS is too small for me. in reality ½ the time it actually too big. case in point: i am currently wearing size xs underwear that i bought online, and they are waaay too big (you can see my hoo-ha from the side for effs sakes). alas, underwear is not returnable so im stuck with them (and i bought 6!!) geez.

Food Before and After Photos
the aforementioned bacon as a garnish to butternut squash soup! soooooooooooo yuuuuuuummmmmm! (me and Mr. shared this, not exactly sure how much i ate of it - probably 1/3 - but i did eat all the bacon, ha ? !)

Food Before and After Photos
ok. so i love bacon. and i mean, i LOVE bacon. i buy it by the case from Costco Business Store and add it to basically everything, and i save the rendered bacon fat and use it for frying stuff (don't judge me!!! lol) anyway, the big ongoing debate at my house is "how cooked should bacon be"? i like my bacon crispy (almost burnt! ha!), while Mr. like it less cooked and more chewy. i often have to take out his bacon from the oven so i can continue cooking mine, geez. see my preferred bacon doneness below. so what are YOU? Team CRISPY? or Team CHEWY???
