All those years ago..... Sad and depressed
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I heart you @BayougirlMrsS ❤️ I totally cried reading this post, it was very moving. It was sobering to read your first post and the vast difference in tone compared to you latest one. I'm so so so so so so so happy for you that you are loving and living life with confidence, gratitude, AND a kick-ass attitude. You rock. Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Losing too much weight, yeah it's real.
...also there are LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of folks on here who went through the "I'm losing too much weight" phase after reaching/surpassing goal (myself included). It takes a while with some trial and error to figure out your sweet spot of not gaining nor losing. The common successful process is to up your calories by 100 every week/couple of weeks and see how your body responds. You may lose some more weight during this process, but you will eventually find your maintenance calories for your intended body weight. P.S. It took me 3-4 months after deciding to stop losing weight plus another 12-15 lbs of additional weight loss to stabilize (Goal weight was 127, lost down to 113, am now settling in between 115-120). Like you, I reached goal in 7 months by being militant about my diet and exercise. It was a little difficult switching gears, but I got there eventually (I am 1 year, 4 months out now)

Daily Menus for Maintenance
I know it may not be nice to laugh at this, but I totally did. More times that I care to remember, I have meticulously measured and entered my food data, only to barf it up or projectile poop it out later. I too have also wondered how this affects my EOD macros count...?

Thanks for the offer...I'll think about it ❤️ I took this to heart yesterday and decided we are going to go on a mini-vacay during spring break. And I'm going to do some deep dive research/planning for other trips that are on the table for this year (I do LOVE planning stuff, haha). This is what I am really trying to figure out (given that running/exercise of off the table at the moment). I know if I was in a better place I would be much more open to new stuff (like I normally am). In the meantime, I am going to go plan some trips...

Yesterday Thursday, Feb 13 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1.25 yr PO Sleeve / 116.0 lbs ---------------------------------------- The Kid commented that I eat soup "funny": I have my fill of broth, THEN I eat the "good stuff". Though I don't just do this because I don't want to "drink" and eat at same time, but also because it takes me a while to eat the solids, and then the soup will get cold! ---------------------------------------- 8:30am - black coffee w/ stevia 2:30pm - salad greens w/ vinaigrette + carrots + cucumber + yellow bell peppers + 3oz pan fried brussel sprouts in bacon fat + 1 slice proscicutto + 1 slice roast beef deli meat + 1 oz feta cheese + 4 fl oz pineapple salsa + 1 tsp crunchy garlic chili oil ** ate almost 2/3 of this ** 4:30pm - Starbucks Grande Blonde Americano Misto w/ 1 pump sugar-free vanilla syrup + 1/2 cup greek yogurt + 1 oz blueberries 6:00pm - ** the rest of the 2:30pm meal ** Seafood Shiratake Soup (1/3 package of shiratake noodles + 2 shitake mushrooms + 3 shrimp balls + 1 oz imitation crab meat + 1/3 cup Chinese broccoli + 1.5 cup bonito broth + green onions) ** ate more than 3/4 of the soup ** 8:30pm - ** the rest of the 6:00pm soup ** + 1 scoop Isopure Dutch Chocolate Protein powder + 1 tbsp decaf instant coffee + 2 cups unsweetened cashew milk --------------------------------------- Totals: 908 cals - 81g Protein 50g NET carbs - 33g fat

..also homemade Chicharron FAIL It started out ok, until someone (um, me) totally forgot about it and ended up rendering ALL the fat out (oopsies) resulting in a yield of a measly 1/2 cup (barely) of reeeaaaaallly crispy pork meat. Mr & the Kid crumbled it up and sprinkled it on their salads, which I guess is a win since they normally don't eat salad. #letsTryThisAgain

So cool, giving back to to community, so to speak! I have an even higher respect for you. The single one thing in my opinion that needs to be clearly mapped out and drilled into the newbies are the age old mantras: "Everyone is Different" AND "Don't compare yourself to others". If you can find a unique way to make this a long lasting impression on our audience, they will be so much better for it.

So continuing in the vein of "finding a new focus after weight loss"... Main Point: I think its important to have a bag of other "foucuses" after weight loss. My go-to feel-better-about-myself activity was running/exercise. Due to my slower than anticipated PS recovery, and other self-inflicted setbacks, this coping mechanism is not available to me. With no other thing to employ to pick myself up, I totally cliché-ed out and actually started drinking more for the purpose of feeling better. After realizing where I was going with that, I am making conscious decisions to NOT drink when I am feeling sh*tty (which is hard, man...work in progress). Then, I guess I fell back to focusing on my diet and weight as this was one thing I knew I could do and do well, and control, and I knew in the past it made me feel good and accomplished. But the thing is, I don't need to lose any weight. So wth. So now I am trying to find something I can focus on that I can do in my current state, that is beneficial to my health and well-being, and that I can derive some enjoyment/accomplishment from. This is proving to be difficult and frustrating, and creating a negative feedback loop. #workingOnIt

Playing Catch-up, and offering up much deserved props to y'all: @BayougirlMrsS : Wow. I wish I could fill out the back of my jeans like you do yours. A$$ for days.... @Snapcase- : You should get paid to take pics and look good for your Old Navy advertising #becauseOfYouIalwaysUsePortraitMode @Sheribear68 : Looking F.I.T. I was already sinking into dark places when I was at your stage. #sophieMustBeMySpiritAnimalForever P.S. you are looking even smaller now! I can see your shoulder muscles! @AngieBear : Yup, I like the tucked in look as well. The reddish top looks great with your hair (BTW, I am secretly impatiently waiting for my own hair to grow so I can style it like yours...I really like how the ends of your hair flips in that white pants outfit pic ❤️. not sure I can pull off your colour though, will stick to my boring black) @Mom_of_Chaos : HOT! That top is super flattering on you. @kristieshannon : Welcome to the thread...Congrats on being so close to goal And yeah, that top is too big on you...time to go shopping to show off your hard work...and more pics please...

Leave it to a Silly Kitty for a much needed slap upside the head. (With an honourable mention to a good nights sleep AND a nice sunny day to put me in a better position/mood to receive said slap upside the head) You are right about the swelling. Deep down inside I knew this already. It's amazing that I didn't even think about the lipo until you brought it up in your post. Too busy being sucky, I suppose. ? I get feeling blah, and wanting to take some control. But wonder why your diet is the area you're choosing to focus? If I were to Pych-101 myself, my answer to this question would be this: I know that I am really good about being militant about my diet when I decide to be. Getting in exercise, having patience, and self-care, etc., not so much. So I do what I know I can do and excel at, and this gives me a sense of accomplishment and control. Probably not the best response to stress, and as I type this, it actually sounds a little like anorexic-type behaviors and thought processes, doesn't it???? Whoa. That was a little thought-provoking. ...I need to go think now.

YUM YUM YUM. I've recently admitted that cookies (and ice cream) are my kryptonite. So I love me some low-carb cookie recipes. Now gotta go out and find some tapioca flour and try these out...thanks! Edited to add: just did a quick google on tapioca flour and learned its not so very keto-friendly. Found suggestions to replace with almond flour 1:1 (or xanthan gum). Sooooo...no need to wait to go shopping for the tapioca flour! Going to make these this afternoon

** P.S. sorry for all those empty posts up there...no idea how that happened...?? ** Yesterday Tuesday, Feb 11 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1.25 yr PO Sleeve / 116.0 lbs ---------------------------------------- 8+. Hours. Uninterrupted. Sleep. *drops mic* Oh, what a difference sleep makes. I honestly feel better this morning than I have been in about 2 weeks. I think the fact that I only had 1 coffee/caffeine product for the entire day helped. But also maybe the fact that I was pretty tipsy when we got home from dinner was also a factor. Not ideal, given my self-diagnosed increasing fondness of alcohol, but I'll take it...this time. And, as if the universe were giving me a symbolic high five, its a clear-skied, sun-shiny day today with a balmy temp of 1°C ☀️ (Yeah, yeah, I know 1°C is c-c-c-c-old for many of you, but its a FEBRUARY morning in Toronto, people. This is WARM! Almost t-shirt weather, lol) ---------------------------------------- 9:00am - coffee w/ stevia 6:00pm to 9:30pm - 2 tbsp foie gras 6 oysters + 1 tbsp seafood sauce + 1 tbsp horseradish 1 tbsp beef tartare + 1 toast cracker 1.5 oz smoked black cod + 1/4 cup sauteed spinach (w/ capers and smoked bacon) 3 glasses red wine 2oz calvados (apple brandy) --------------------------------------- Totals: 872 cals - 31g Protein 34g NET carbs - 36g fat
