  1. On day 7 of my liquid diet with 7 more days to go and I've lost 15 lbs so far just being on the diet. I'm really excited about the weight loss. I haven't cheated on my diet. I've stuck to 5 protein shakes, 64 oz of water, 2 Jell-O cups and 2 bowls of broth. But I'm so ready for Feb 1st to get here.

  3. Warning this rant is a little TMI. lol Weds I started my monthly flow and I started my liquid diet today also pre-admission testing today as well. I have 13 more days to go for my pre-op diet. I told my best friend to do a wellness check on my husband this weekend. lmao It's coming to the end of the day and my stomach wont stop gurgling. Its a loud gurgle sound too. It started happening about 5pm. I've had some looks from people because of how loud it was. haha I've had 4 protein shakes, 2 jell-o cups, 2 servings of broth and 50oz of water. My next protein shake isn't for another 1hour and I still have 2 more cups of water to drink. I don't have any food cravings but my stomach says feed me!!!! lol I've had the poos all day with a nasty headache. Just keep telling myself that tomorrow will be better and the day after will be better and the day after that will be better. haha Just feel like crawling into bed and waiting for Feb 1st to get here already.
  4. Surgery Twin!! Good Luck! I'm nervous about the liquid diet. You ladies are going to do great! We are almost there!!!!!
  5. I am jealous and excited for you at the same time!! Good Luck!!!! You are going to do great!!!
  6. I could not imagine the grief that your family is feeling. I am so sorry for your loss. Such a tragedy to loose someone so young. Sending prayers to you and your family.
  7. I would consult your dr about the pain. Sometimes loosing that much weight the skin sets differently on your body and actually can pull causing pain or discomfort. Hope you find relief soon.
  8. You look great girl!! Congratz!!!!!
  9. My dietitian told us if we want coffee and instead of creamer to add a scoop of vanilla protein to it with some Splenda if it needs to be a little sweeter. But I like the hot chocolate idea too.
  10. Getting closer to our surgery dates! I just ordered my protein shakes online for my liquid diet on Friday. I was able to get Boost Smart Calorie at Walmart for $7.84 for a 6 pack so I ordered 11 and plus side its being delivered to my door. My Dr's office charges $22 for a box of protein shakes that has 7 servings . Thought I would share my deal finder in case anyone elses Dr's office lets them have Boost Smart Calorie for the liquid diet. Good Luck!!!! :)
  11. Congrats!!! its almost here!!! you are going to do great!!!!
  12. I have a desk job as well. I wear a bulky lab coat and scrub pants. Maybe i'll go buy some yoga pants to help for the first couple of weeks. I do have a coworker that is on stand by incase I need more time off which is super sweet of her to do for me.
  13. Congratulations!! That's wonderful!! My drs office told me to take a picture of myself every month because you can really see the difference when you can't see it on the scale. Keep up the good work!!!!
  14. Hope you are doing better. . .Did the ER find out was is wrong?
  15. I don't know how long I should actually take off of work. My surgery is on a Friday so I took off the weekend and that Monday. How many days or weeks did you guys take off. My Dr said it was up to me how many days I actually take off because I do not have a strenuous job and no lifting is required so he said a few days then I should be okay to return.
  16. I wasn't expecting such a huge response to my question. Thank you everyone for all your personal experiences and advise. I talked to my husband about it and he brought up so really great points for me to remember. I'm not going to tell anyone else in my family or friends until after I am post op and I am going to use Bariatric Pal to talk to people because I know I will get the positivity I need and support while I am going through the motions of my journey. I can offer support, advise and motivation to others here as well. Again Thank you guys for all the advise and sharing your personal experiences with me. Not everyone in my personal life will agree or be excited for me. But I'm choosing not to give them a chance to bring me down about something I've worked so hard for.
  17. Yea I haven't shouted it from the roof tops and I've stayed off of personal social media as well. I feel its personal. I do like that idea of telling people after the surgery. I'll just have to remember to say that support is welcomed but not criticism. That's really great advise. Negativity is not something I need nor want right now especially right before surgery. Anxiety is already high just from the anticipation of the surgery.
  18. Awe you are getting close to your surgery day! I'm so excited for you. My surgery day isn't until Feb 1st because my surgeon is just booked out that far. My mother in laws comment was just off putting to me because I thought she would be happy for me. And it did hurt my feelings for 2.5 secs because I know how hard I worked to get where I am now. I actually have lost weight during this whole process because I'm learning healthy eating habits and exercise for my body. I've had the support of the bariatric unit at the hospital.
  19. I'm having an internal struggle about telling people that I am having bariatric surgery. My husband has been so supportive so has my parents and 3 really close friends. But when I told my mother in law after I received my official surgery date. She said well why can't you just follow a diet. I don't think she meant it to be as hurtful as it sounded but its comments like that I don't want to hear. It was already hard enough to make the decision to start my weight loss journey and to get to this point I am now. Its an accomplishment that I am proud of but I feel like I am keeping it a secret. After my mother in laws comment I don't think I will tell anyone else. Has anyone had the negativity with telling people in their life?
  20. I did 6 months of observation before I could have my papers submitted to the insurance. My insurance came back after a week. I called them every day to make sure they had my paper work and check the status. I was creeping hard lol hope you find out soon!
  21. Oh that's wonderful!!! I was wondering what they would do. Good luck girl!!! Tomorrow is going to be great!!!
  22. I just got my surgery date today!!! Its February 1st!! 52 more days
  23. I would be beside myself. But there isn't anything that you can do this late at night. I would call the insurance company and the drs office in the morning. Maybe the Dr's office sending over the needed documentations will be all the insurance needs for a quick turn around for the approval part. We are our best advocates sometimes. Keep on them girl. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! Good luck with your surgery.
  24. Can your Dr's office do anything? I would call them and let them know what is going on. Sometimes they can help
  25. I got my approval today!!!! Just waiting on the office scheduler to call me for my surgery date!!! Thinking it will happen by the end of the year I'm so excited!!!!!!
