It's only natural to be nervous. Every time that you feel like you're freaking out and overthinking, simply go through the reasons that you made the decision to have this surgery...for me it's stuff like not having energy, my fear of not being able to fit in arena seats or ride roller coasters etc...plus as you age, you start to get these darn comorbidities that will shorten your life span. Just relax and breath and trust in your decision

Maybe I missed something somewhere but if you're at permanent goal, why are you having the revision?

Life insurance, long term disability etc.

That was very well stated and you are so very welcome. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and that gets me through when i'm feeling discouraged

I intend to talk frankly with my oldest daughter about insurance stuff etc...just in case.

Oh, i'd definitely tell her because you never know what will happen during surgery. Just tell her that this is your decision and that if she can't support you then to please at least not speak negatively

I didn't really have a goal to hit before surgery. I did have the 6 months of supervised diet but that ended several months ago and now i'm yoyoing. I'm still a good ways below my heaviest weight of 333(was 318 as of a couple weeks ago but still losing)...so any weight I lose at this point is just putting me in a better state for surgery.

That's a good question. I have to be on a 2 week full liquid diet before surgery and honestly i'd probably do it even if I didn't have to...so that I can get my liver in shape for the surgery and drop some lbs in the process.

Congrats, I know that you have had some bumps in the road but it's all coming together now

Please don't let this freak you out. The vast majority don't have these problems and I have a feeling that she pushed herself too hard...i'm not saying that to be harsh, she knows that I care

What a freaking idiot. He doesn't have to do gastric bypass to treat your symptoms and maybe consult with your surgical group. I just hope that you aren't losing blood...that would cause the weakness and stomach pains...the CT scan will see it if it's there and the labs will show the your blood volume. Prayers my friend

I'm so sorry that you don't have a good support system. My surgeon says no lifting over 20 lbs for 2 weeks. I'll be praying for you

I got the 2oz and 4oz disposable cups with lids...haven't gotten much more that that lol. Please don't be nervous or overwhelmed. Just remember all the reasons why you are doing this. I'll be praying for you

I haven't had surgery yet but i've read many times that walking as soon after surgery and often is the best help for the gas pain.
