If so, where did you get it from and how much do you inject yourself with? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

  5. Hello and welcome ................I will be banded on Aug. 5 and today was my first day on the pre-op diet and I struggle a little. I think the biggest thing that would help is to make sure you get all your Water intake and hopefully that will keep in feel full. BTW, don't worry about the surgery......God is an awesome God and he won't let anything happen to us. Keep me posted and take care!!
  6. Hello and welcome................I am in the same position as you are right know. My surgery is Aug. 5 and I am sooo scared. But I look at it like this.........people get this surgery everyday so my plans is to say a prayer and leave the rest up to God! God is awesome and he won't let anything happen to us that is not in his will so channel that energy into to thinking about something positive........Like how fantastic your gonna look........Keep me posted on your process!! My Pre-Op diet is 5 slim fast shakes and a small Protein and Veggies at night.........is yours the same??
  7. Honestly, that does not sound right..........I am getting banded on Aug. 5 and that includes everything for life. Physical Therapy (personal trainer for a limited amount of time), support groups for the life of the band, and if anything should ever go wrong with my band he will fix it for free.......that is a sweet deal!! If you are wondering (Dr. Nick Nicholson, Plano)..........I would just take her with you, $200 is insane.
  8. I have Dr. Nick too and I am 28 with no health problems, 236lbs and he ordered pre-op testing for me. That is weird....I wonder if he did it because you were self pay to spare you the extra expense????
  9. Dr. Nick Nicholson in Plano is my Doctor..........
  10. Just wanted to let everyone know I got a date for my surgery. August 5th is my new birthday..........I am so excited. Start my pre-op diet on Monday and he suggested the slim fast shakes. Any suggestions that will help me not get bored on my liquid diet???
  11. You are right ...... what can I say I really wanted to be approve but your idea is more ethical than mine but these stupid insurance companies way of thinking makes people go to any measure to get approve. They want you to be sick with many health issues before they approve you.......now that is CRAZY!!! :huh2: All i can say about my idea is "USE AT YOUR OWN RISK" .....LOL. It worked for me (results not typical) ............
  12. LOL ...............well that sucks that you have to take your shoes off ..............but I had my steel toe shoes on that looks like normal shoes, ankle weights (10lbs), and I drunk a lot of water right before my weight in. It worked like a charm and I am not the only person that has done this........I got the idea from a co-worker (LOL ..... gotta know how to beat the system) some have even put on wrist weights but I didn't do that I just need an extra 15lbs or so to get the BMI...............hope this helps guys and by the way I have already asked God for forgiveness for my sins. But look at it this way, my ins. companies don't even considered you if you have been denied before so get it right the first time. I have five co-workers that is going through the process and three of us did not have the BMI, me and another girl cheated to get it and both got approvals right away along with the ones that did have the BMI. The one that did not have the BMI is still waiting on approval and all of our information was submitted within two weeks of each other ...........we can only conclude the worse at this point  Good Luck
  13. I have Anthem BCBS and to be honest they are strict when it comes to your BMI mine was a 41 and the process was smooth. However I cheated a little and if you want to know want I did I will tell :tt1: I was really ready to get this weight off of me and I don't have the money to invest in myself so I did what I needed to do to get the BMI and it was not gaining more weight :tongue_smilie: that's crazy.......
  14. Thank you so much for the comforting reply I was getting nervous if no one has had experience with him before. I will keep you posted. Did he put you on a diet before surgery? What was the requirements before the surgery. A friend told me she was put on Optifast shakes by her surgeon.......(not Dr. Nick) so I was wondering if he does the same thing..........
  15. Sleep apena, hypertension, diabetes will get you approved for sure........not sure about anything else my BMI was 41 so I lucked out in a sense.............
  16. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with Dr. Nick Nicholson at Baylor Medical in Plano Texas. He is performing my surgery in a couple of weeks and really don't know a whole lot about him. Just was wondering, I am extremely nervous...........I have never had surgery before or put to sleep. Pray for me please....................... Scared in Texas!!:smile2:
  17. You have lost over 100lbs in less than a year.........please share your secrets. I am hoping to be banded Aug 1 and I want to loose 90lbs hopefully within a year. Any advice would be helpful!
  18. Hi Shelly to be very honest I wrote my own letter because I moved to Texas and the last time I saw my PCP was in 2005. Someone on here sent me a template and I tweaked it myself. I could send it to you if you want me to....just send me your email. Honestly, I wasn't sure if they was going to call and confirm but it was my only chance I don't have a PCP here in Texas. I was approved in two days (June 30th)..........I will help as much as I can:)
  19. You have lost 80lbs in less than three months....what is your secret.....I am getting married June 6 next year and I need to loose 100lbs by then! Surgery hopefully Aug. 1. Do you still drink Optifast?
  20. I am with Anthem BCBS and I was approved in two days and I promised I started the day after my information was submitted. I think by me turning into a pest:tt2: made them make a decision fast. I would start calling ASAP! I go to my Dr. on Thursday to get a surgery date I am hoping for Aug 1, as well if not sooner.........
  21. Congrats...........I am 28 years old as well and I will hopefully be banded August 1. I am impatient as well I am getting married on June 6, 2009 and I need to loose 100lbs by then so I am sure I will be feeling the same way in a couple weeks. Just look at it like this.........next time this year....ur gonna be a hott momma  Just be patient!
  22. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if I could have some suggestions for anything that would help with my stretch marks from gaining weight in certain areas and something that would help minimize my surgery scars. I am African American and we tend to sometimes scar easily...(at least i do). Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  23. Hi I live in Texas however my insurance is based out of Ohio (Cincy). By any chance do your husband work for The Kroger Co. ?
  24. I am sorry to hear that........I am a SBF and my family totally support my decision and I don't think I couldn't have made it without them. I don't have a surgery date yet but my insurance just approve to pay for it on Monday. I am so sorry for you but know that there is someone that always have your back and you can call on him at anytime and he will be there It's something about the name Jesus!...Take Care
  25. Hey I am with Anthem BCBS and it took me two days to get my approval call.......Good Luck!!!
