  1. Of the 2 fills I've had, the first one was the easiest. You'd think after losing some weight, the 2nd should be. But.. my first was done by Dr. Cobourn, and the 2nd by his nurse. She said my port was SO deep... and tortured me for half an hour trying to find it (well, maybe not that long, but it felt like it!) It was hell, and if I ever have to make the trek back to TO for a fill, I'll make sure he's there to do it. When he did it, all it took was a little push, and he knew exactly where to go, and did it in the first shot. I can feel it, or at least am sure I feel it when I push down... so... I dunno. It makes me feel puke-y if I push on it too much, so I try not to!
  2. Wheezy has!
  3. pssshh.... I think that nickname may be history after this past few days!
  4. Skinny jeans - Mandi found 'em at Old Navy. She thinks they even call 'em "skinny jeans'. :heh: She's got 2 pairs, one in 18 and one in 16! (ok, well maybe they're not quite the skinny jeans you're talking about, but they're definitely skinny!)
  5. ohhhh my goodness... who are you and where are you from?! That's like.... :faint:
  6. LOL, green, from someone who's not biased, they're just like a Blizzard... but from McDonalds I'd take a blizzard anyday! At least at DQ I get some choice in what goes into my icecream concoction, not just oreo or smarties! You guys are nuts!
  7. The best reason for doing it after, and I'm sure what the rest of us are thinking, is that if for some reason you're the odd person who has crazy restriction after their first fill, you don't want to NOT be able to eat, (even worse, not drink) for the whole trip, and/or have to have some stranger in some foreign country stickin' a needle in your belly, hoping they know what they're doing.
  8. The Ensure "High Protein" kind only has about 13g of protein. That's not bad, but you could find better protein drinks. Nothing wrong with Ensure, go for it if you want.... just watch the calories, they could add up quickly.
  9. Oops, I think I did the thing where I post something, but it's all in my head! I meant to send my condolences too and wish Mr. Yoda's mama a speedy recovery! Here it is and give him a hug from me too ;)
  10. AFTER! after! after!
  11. Oooh... me too. That's what I'd forgotten, that it was good for anything BESIDES quacamole!
  12. Thank you, thank you Next week may not be quite as good. You see... it was my birthday yesterday, and I was given the opportunity to pick out my own cake. Couldn't find one I was happy enough with, so I resorted to a DQ icecream cake! Just a normal one, luckily not a blizzard cake. But... I'm on my 3 or 4th piece since we got it. I'm in one of those 'I just gotta get rid of it so it's not in my freezer anymore!" modes. Anyways, for that reason, I'll give myself a pass that it's ok if I don't lose, or even gain next week. I am quite alright with it!
  13. p.s. you talking about avocado made me go out and buy one (I'd forgotten about 'em!)... I had a shrimp salad IN an avocado once, mmm... that would be good. I could eat the avocado by itself, but I'd like to eat something in it, a dip maybe?
  14. You should really ask if they do, or if they will... they've got to have some idea how much is REALLY in you band. Even I lost 0.1cc after my first fill (osmosis or something not to worry about), but if they had not found that our by removing all the saline to ensure how much was in there, I'd think I was at 1.5, when I would really be at 1.4 :omg: LOL, not a big deal, but it could add up! Anyways, what if someone missed or something once, and you didn't get a whole fill amount in your band at all one time? You could have 5cc instead of 6!
  15. Good! Can't wait to see 'em!
  16. Yikes neenagh! But I agree with everyone else.... you need an escort/body/carguard, you need to drop the chocolate, and step away from the McDonalds entrance! (and by the way, you are incredibly close to soon joining me in Onederland. I'll let you in, but only if you leave the McFlurry's behind!)
  17. Oh wow... I was wondering what was going on with you, but figured you'd let us know when you could! I don't envy you, but I hope you're getting better! Stupid question, but... don't you have to pee 'em out (if they're not too big)? I actually read a post from someone here (on LBT)who had the same thing, and described the exerting of the stones, and how 'something no bigger than a grain of sand' can cause so much pain comin' out." *wags finger at Cloe* Have you been drinking enough water? Ever since I read that lady's post, and she said it was probably because she wasn't drinking enough water, I've been scared! p.s. I missed you!
  18. Sherri, like I said, there is Dr. in Ottawa, who is NOT a lapband surgeon, but has been trained to do fills. Wheezy has gone to this person, even though she had her surgery in Toronto/Mississauga.... I'd really suggest giving them a call.
  19. YES! :heh:
  20. Congrats Doriana! I took the junior strength chewable tylenol too, and if yours is also 160mg per pill, 4 pills is only giving you 640mg, which is a little more than 1 extra strength tylenol (500mg). *I* normally take 2 extra strength, so really, that would be 6 'juniors'. Seems crazy (especially when there's only 18-20 in a bottle)... but that's the way it works out. Don't know about the coffee... that's a q for your dr's office. Personally, I had coffee (and milk!) in the first week, and I'm still alive. But listen to your Dr!
  21. Good luck with the new fill, and we'll see ya next week :girl_hug:
  22. I just looked on the map... isn't North Bay fairly close to Ottawa? Why not go to the Dr. there? Wheezy, how much does he charge? (I'm sure he doesn't just do his patients)
  23. Nah, it's ok Lila. I hope to either get my bed shipped here soon, or find a yucky used one somewhere! It's not as bad as you'd think... it's a 'double-high", so I don't have to drop down to get into bed, or crawl out! I did sleep ok. Took a little while, but I tried to go blank, first said goodnight to and relaxed every bit of my body (had to restart 10 times, cause you-know-who kept talking!). It was ok. Maybe I was just loving the ease of falling asleep like that. (and oh yeah! I woke up at 4:50 and ran to the bathroom! Milk of Magnesia works! and continued to work all morning. I credit it for getting me out of the 200's. I didn't want to be constipated on a weigh-in day!) I actually knew that, about the Wellbutrin/Zyban, and thought that could make matters worse. I do purposely take it first thing in the morning because of that. The Dr. only gave me 2 months worth of Wellbutrin, so I'll be going back soon.... I will mention it, and see if they can suggest anything, and/or prescribe anything perhaps. But then, if I get a prescription sleeping pill, what would stop me from treating it just like the non-prescription, and gettin' hooked too? What is that pill, I've seen commercials for.... Lunesta! Do we have that here? I'll look it up. So, thank you guys for the well wishes and congrats! I'm very happy with myself today. I made a little Post-It note that said "1986" (code for 198.6) and stuck it on my monitor so I could stare at it all day. Also, I want to purposely say, that I am gonna be here for a LONG time. I've joined many a online weightloss support groups, and eventually disappeared with no warning from all of 'em. (atkins, weight watchers, cabbage soup diet) I'm not gonna disappear, and if I suddenly get a life, I'll let y'all know. I hope you all do the same!
  24. Hey suns! Glad it went so well! Congrats, and take care. You must be tall... with a 40.7 BMI at 284? Mine was 47 at 284! Mandi
