  1. Thank you guys... couldn't have done it without you
  2. Dum da da da! Christmas has come early! and it can't be an imposter! Who else would have gross grown-out toenail polish like that!? (and a tony little scale:heh:)
  3. Soooo... you don't have clothed before/now pictures? Hmmm??
  4. What I meant was that I've always had to lie in bed and wait to fall asleep... until I discovered wonderful sleeping pills :notagree I can take em, go about my business, and a couple hours later, I'm ready for bed, and asleep before I pull the blankets up! Ahhh.... You must forget that I'm sleeping on an air mattress. I spend as little time in my bedroom as possible! I'm sure you're thinking that it's the air mattress that's the problem... and I'm sure it doesn't help, but it's been like this even when I've had good ol' normal beds! I haven't had a sleep test. Hmm... man... that would be a pain to go through. I mean, I don't even have a family doctor, nevermind someone to determine that I need a sleep test. I don't think it's anything like sleep apnea. I just think too much sometimes, and can't just shut my brain down or 'blank it all out' long enough to fall asleep. Thanks for the suggestions, Lila. I do actually already do the fan thing... I need the noise, and it helps. I even do the chanting thing. I'll try the non-sexual massage though ! Maybe I'll find some of those sleepy-making teas too. Thanks again guys! Mandi
  5. Wheezy, you know the generic "Exact" brand from the Superstore/ExtraFoods/Loblaws(I believe). That's all I've ever tried, and cause it was the cheapest... maybe I'm just easy! (it is extra-strength though ?) Lila.... I'm not an afternoon coffee drinker, at all.. and nothing coke-like for me anymore. (huge for me too, althought I might have the odd sip here and there. It just doesn't appeal to me anymore, especially when you can't chug it!) I took the natural one 2 hours before I wanted to go to bed, cause that's what I did with the un-natural one, and didn't feel anything when it came time to go to sleep. I'll try the good old fashioned 'lying there' again tonight. Wish me luck! (and plentiful bowel movements! I've never tried MoM, hope it works!) LOL
  6. Yay Wheezy! I hope this is the one for you too!
  7. And.... as neenagh asked... is there something very distinctive about you that some of these 'real' people would know who you are, headless, even?!
  8. Thanks Wheezy
  9. Hmmm... well, I've had problems falling asleep, forEVER. A few months ago, I bought some sleeping pills. I'd take 'em every once in a while (like once a month) if I KNEW I wouldn't be able to sleep. In the last few weeks, it's gotten more frequent, like a few nights a week, and only not taking them because I think I shouldn't. Now, I LOVE being able to go to bed, and actually fall asleep. I never get the drowsy, need to sleep feeling on my own, and 99% of the time, end up lying in bed for an hour (or more) TRYING to fall asleep. Then if I think I can't, I get up, watch TV, go on the computer, or something... until I finally get tired. But then, I have to function the next day on 3 hours of sleep, and it's not fun. I bought some 'natural source' Nytol last week, thinking "Hey, if it's "natural", and still helps, that's gotta be better!". Tried it, and nothing... no good! I'm sure I'm substituting one addiction for another. And I'm thinking about it the way I thought of smoking... well, kinda. I am out of them now, and have been thinking all day, that i HAVE to go buy some tonight, just in case. (just like I would figure out if my cigs. would last me til the next morning, or if I had to go out that night and get some more). It just really sucks, cause I'm really loving falling asleep quickly, and sleeping soundly. Takin' one at 9, and actually going to bed at 11, is a dream come true. Right now, I'm planning on going to the drug store. I think I'm constiptated. :heh: That, and I think I need more sleeping pills. But ... ehhh... I WON'T buy any! I'll get some milk of magnesia, just cause I've never tried it, and the Senokot I have didn't do anything. I won't buy any, ok guys? I will do my best to fall asleep on my own.
  10. I started going to the gym when I'd already lost 74lbs (bout a month ago). I'd say I did pretty well without it, but I hate to think where I'd be now, if I had made an effort. I'm honestly not going to the gym to lose more weight, I'm happy at ther pace I was going at.... I just want to tighten things up, and maybe end up a little less flabby! (but I won't complain if I do lose better with going to the gym!)
  11. This is gonna sound stupid, but... why do you not want to take sleeping pills everynight? (ie: why shouldn't I?)
  12. C'mon... not even some decapitated Yoda's? I will post some pictures. I PROMISE. I have been putting stuff off because I don't have a real computer, but, I'm gonna use Dan's computer, transfer all my stuff to it, and make a big comparison collage thingy. For you guys, and mostly for me, cause I GOTTA see it!
  13. haha, I'm glad you can laugh at it now, Lila!
  14. and oh yeah, me too... I am NOT a tanner. I'm a burner. Yay! Maybe I'll be young looking when I'm as old as you, Yoda! :heh:
  15. :omg: again! 59lbs to go ?!?!?!?! WTF happened? Sorry. Whoah... whoah. :faint: It makes me happy that I MIGHT not even want to lose that much. It's a dream to weigh half of my original weight, BUT... not necessary. I could be perfectly happy with myself 20lbs from now. (ha... who am I kidding?) Anything now is just icing ... mmmm.... icing.
  16. So, I just posted in Khrissy's signature thread... saw "123lbs to go", and thought "WOO! That's gonna be a long ride." Then realized that MINE would have used to say "142lbs to go"! :omg: Not a knock against you, Khrissy... just amazing at how fast it goes by (at least for me :|), and before you know it, you could be down 80lbs.
  17. Is that your signature? The "hi everyone" thing? Your ticker is good though! I wish you well with the pre-op diet... I hope you're as enthusiastic in a few more days!
  18. It was the message board on Dr. Cobourn's site. (I'm not interested in football either!)
  19. It varies by Dr., but personally, I'll drink up until I'm ready to eat, and wait 45min-1 hour after. (that is when I think about it, and unless I HAVE to have a drink sooner!) Good luck, Doriana! Let us know when you get home, as soon as you can! And, oh yeah... I got to the clinic at 9:30-ish, I went in for surgery at about 10:30, and left by 1pm. They didn't rush me out, I'm sure I could have stayed much longer, but I was in a weird "I gotta get outta here!" mood! I was up and putting on my pants the second the nurse gave them to me (got in trouble, cause she was supposed to help!)
  20. Yes, that's better... thanks neenagh. Now, off to Dairy Queen! LOL just kiddin'. Or am I !? :omg:
  21. I too broke down at the pressure of the bake sale... we had one at work to raise money for the 'social committee". 2 separate days, I bought: peanut butter fudge, and a little plate with a piece of peanut butter marshmallow square, homemade Reese's PB cup, a brownie, and a shortbread cookie. Someone slap my hand!
  22. Ya know, not saying it's a stupid idea, but not really necessary.... you can eat anything from ANY cookbook, low carb, low fat, diabetic, SUPER fat, HIGH carb, salads, Soups... whatever. YOU just won't be eating as much! What would the difference in a LapBand cook book be? Smaller portions, is all I can think of. (and probably healthier, but that's just common sense.) There's nothing that is something that NO one can have. Some people eat things like celery, peppers, asparagus (etc) with no problem, while others will PB at the sight of it, then there's somethings that should be fine for everyone, but just don't agree with some people. Here are a couple that I came across... probably the kind of stuff you're looking for (even though they're not lapband specific): [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Eating-Well-After-Weight-Surgery/dp/1569244537/sr=1-1/qid=1163967743/ref=sr_1_1/002-9036348-9161618?ie=UTF8&s=books]Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery[/ame] [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Before-After-Living-Eating-Surgery/dp/0060567228/sr=1-3/qid=1163967743/ref=sr_1_3/002-9036348-9161618?ie=UTF8&s=books]Susan Maria's book.. this lady is well known in the bariatric world.[/ame] (new revised version coming out in the summer)
