  1. I emailed them that night.. no response yet. Guess I didn't really ask anything, just told them my most recent weight. Anyone see this before!? http://www.lapband.ca/Cityline-WM.wmv I was like "COOOOOLL!!!!!" Got to show Dr. Cobourn to Dan, and the office, and the recovery room, and everything! Neat for anyone who's not yet met Dr. C.
  2. *mmmmmmmuuuuuuuahahahahahaha* !! That's an evil laugh!
  3. Congrats, Yasmina!!!
  4. hehe ... streetcar. Did that come before or after the horse and buggy? :biggrin1:
  5. Good luck, Maria... hope you feel better soon.
  6. Good job, Yoda! That's awesome!
  7. Cloe, this means we need updates on your badass daughter! :heh: You know, you should tell her that you talk about her, and will continue to until she doesn't give you reason to!
  8. I want to edit this to say, that when I said this, I meant "Calgary" not Alberta. They've been doing lapbanding in Edmonton (Dr's Davey and Birch) for a while now. The banding in Calgary is new. I don't know if the lapband program they do at the Royal Alex in Edmonton is subject to the same restrictions they have in Calgary (like only doing 25 a year)... but probably. Clarification, I hope!
  9. and what's that flower you have on? :heh:
  10. Woooooo! look at you! You're lookin' awesome!!!!!!!!
  11. Sherriberry! How's it going? What ever happened with your fills? Gerry - if your Dr. is a reg. Dr, chances are he doesn't do fills, but he might be willing to learn from your surgeon, and/or if you're going to TLBC, use the teaching DVD. Who are you getting banded by?
  12. runny mouth? I get that, but it's like a precursor to a bad 'stuck'. I thought that was sliming until I had a true slime, and it must be a slime, cause it's slimey!!
  13. Just startin' this for you, cause you're gonna have a lot to say... I can tell! Hope you're doing well, and let us know when you're home and feelin' up to it  Mandi
  14. Oh yeah... nothin' like that hospital fresh smell!
  15. Helpful, if you're in the US, I'm sure. :huggie: (sorry, honest mistake)
  16. I think it's the lube that your stomach creates to move along whatever's stuck... I think. I wouldn't say it hurts.... kinda like: BURP - out slides a crazy big or small blob... usually clear. (that's me, personally)
  17. Hey Emmily, Are you wanting to get banded in Canada? It would probably be cheaper than having it done in the US, assuming your insurance (because I guess you have american insurance, which may cover it.) wouldn't cover it. How much are you lookin to lose? Or how much do you need to lose?
  18. When I've sold things, I've gone and found how much it could cost to send it the furthest distance away... say to Florida (assuming I'll only send to Canada and the US), and how much it would cost to send to Vancouver. I've only sold a couple things, so it's never been a pain in the ass to get to the PO. What are you sellin'?
  19. Good luck, Yoda! Should be fun :huggie: (Cloe: HOW can I possibly look like some 100lb chick in spandex?! Maybe the long, darkish hair... but... anyways, I'd never be goin' that hard on an elliptical!)
  20. yoda : :huggie: Cloe : fairly quick. I don't email them much though! Should do it every month, but I don't. I'll email them tonight, and let you know
  21. You know, I started it, got side tracked, went back to it a couple times, but never finished it :huggie: I thought it was worth a try, and I wish I had...I know I'll regret it forever. Kinda screwed me up that I moved out of province a few months later, so I'd be in for even more of a hard time, trying to hassle them from here. All I really said was my story, about trying to better my life, trying to keep/get myself healthy to live out my life (in beautiful SK... haha, had to get that in to try to make them think they need to keep the youngins in SK), that it was unfair to make people wait 5-7 years, and only offer one option (bypass), and not even have a surgeon in the province (anymore), so in turn, relying on the few bypass surgeons in the west to handle the entire flow of overweight people in BC, AB, SK, ans MB. Luckily AB is covering it now (to an extent) and that takes some of the weight off (haha, pun!), but the Lapband in AB is just going to turn into how the RNY/bypass is... a several year wait! Ok... that turned into a rant. I think you should just state your case, tell how certain provinces cover it, why you're doing it, how you'll be less of a drain on healthcare with ____ lbs less that you'd be if you continued to inevitably gain, an get more and more unhealthy. Sorry I can't be more help. :phanvan
  22. wow, bandiva... is that $475 a one time, first fill deal, or would you have to pay that each time!? (awesome deal, btw... I'd go back to MX too!)
