Things that got stuck in your orifices.

LBT Group Hug....
Doc, We all have our niche in life. Mine is the niche of a miserable satirical bastard. I've worked hard for it and I love it I also see nothing wrong with hugs, so long as they are correctly targetted at someone else. I'd grin but... I have forgotten how. Look at the picture... thats me smiling.

LBT Group Hug....
I thought you were on my side Madam. Shudders uncontrollably. NO hugging. I refuse to allow myself to be anything other than a monolithic slab of emotionless granite.

Movies...
Here's my top 10: 1. Shawshank Redemption 2. Goonies 3. Finding Nemo (SHARKBAIT OO HA HA!) 4. Silence of the Lambs (....Chianti... FfFfFfFfFfFf) 5. Master and Commander 6. The Green Mile 7. Sneakers 8. Wayne's World 1 & 2 (sad but true, I know) 9. Top Gun (Mustang, this is Ghost Rider requesting a fly by... Negative Ghost rider, the pattern is full) 10. Open Range (okay, so its not that great of a movie, but when I can't sleep its just AWESOME. I don't even make it to them riding into town the first time). Lots more that I love (including LoTR, but thats not a movie, thats an Epic).

Feeling Short Now!
Me too! wait... 6' 4" I lie. Perhaps you are misclassifying the feeling. Maybe you feel smaller... which is a very very good thing and what is half an inch between friends? One thing I would say though - if you are trully getting shorter - check into bone density. It can make an incredible differents (as my near 70yr old MIL found out when she fell down stairs and came out with bumps and bruises. She's been on the bone density pills for years).

Hi, I am new...
Welcome Paula! You have definately come to the right place for support, wisdom, and discussion. As for driving us crazy. Good luck with that, I haven't met anyone I'd care to classify as sane (including myself).

Erosion: Our OWN Statistics.
I have decided to hide all the surgeons who only have one recorded patient. This makes it easier on the eye and a more realistic data point. If anyone really loves the ever growing doctor list (its now 43 names long), I can stuff it back in.

Update!!! NOT THE BAND!!!
Thats wonderful new Kathy, Thoughts remain with you and I hope everything goes well. Thank you so much for keeping us posted. I only asked the wife today if you had posted again and when we saw you hadn't I was concerned.

Scales!
Have some cheesy digital one that works well enough. It 'usually' weighs consistantly. Main problem is that most home scales are wildly inaccurate and give a 'ball park' at best. My major problem with the scales is addiction (both myself and the wife). When I am losing the damn thing rules my life. I have resolved this by removing the battery and it only goes in Sunday (my weigh day) and comes out Monday evening (the wife weighs in on Monday). I can at least sustain the will power to not put the battery back in for a sneak preview I would weigh at the doctor's office but, I'm alergic to the medical profession. Also my current visit schedule would mean that I'd have to weigh every 11 years or so.

What Protein shake do you drink?
We (thats P'Nut and I) use (reluctantly) Optimum Nutrition's (ON) Natural whey. 1 scoop, 1 cup of skim milk. 32g of Protein. Taste: Choccie is the best, strawberry is ... the next best. vanilla is something you can add stuff into to make it drinkable. The wife's post op shake O' DOOM (Drink in two sittings, or three): 1 scoop ON Whey Protein Strawberry 1 Cup of Milk 1 Slim Fast (Vanilla) 1/2 Banana. Blend and allow to sit in the fridge for an hour or two. 54g of Protein, 502.5 Calories. Its 'almost' perfect. LOL

Erosion: Our OWN Statistics.
Thanks for both of those cents Donna. Any patient that doesn't report a complication to the world is doing themselves a dis-service. I am sure these surgeons also probably offer 'free' fixes etc to prevent the truth leaking out. Whatever happens though I am going to rely on folks to just spread the data, remember - this is an anonymous poll. Noone can say who gave data if they do it in a PM to me This study also isn't really intended to hold people accountable. Just... show what is going on in our small circle of friends. Now, come on pokeys, get your data on the books

British TV Shock
How odd, I only know two Celebs that have the band. Anne Diamond (didn't know before today mind you) and Ann Wilson (Lead singer of the band Heart). Both Ann(e)s. Stupid trivia, but... shrug. Any other Celebs who the world know's to be bandsters?

Cut down that hurt
Here are some of my hand tailored responses to such situations. I shall start with my all time favorite: ...You know, I can lose weight, It's a real shame you can't gain intelligence. Have you two been together long? you are SO cute together! Can I get a diaper for your head? Something unpleasant just oozed out of your mouth. Oh wow, whats that hideous growth in the middle of your face... Oops my mistake, its just your nose. I guess your mom should have tried to raise her placenta, because it had way more intelligence than you. ---------------------------------------------- There's more, but they start getting a bit more unpleasant from here on

GASP! You LOVE US, you really LOVE US!! wipes a tear. Now, where's my damn Oscar? I'll take a Nickel on a Stick instead, if you are short on Oscars.

Erosion: Our OWN Statistics.
My basic thought at this time is - get everything and discard stuff if its ends up having no relevance. At this time I am going to keep including it because it doesn't hurt. If (after we get enough data) it proves to be entirely superfluous, I'll either hide or remove it. If however we find that every band that erodes will do so within X number of days, that 'could' be usefull. If it also turns out that all the bands erode within X time period - it will be usefull. I appreciate everyones input but right now, I want to include everything that I feel 'could' become interesting. If its presence actually bothers people, I'll keep it and hide it from ya

The WHY ARE MEN SO WEIRD thread.
Perhaps you should be asking yourselves why YOU have such a problem with goats and monkeys. Ladies, you betta recognize!! Goats and Monkeys are cool. Its as much a fact as men being wierd. Oh, and the damn nickel on a stick. If you have neither goat or monkey, but you DO own a welding torch... what better thing could there be to do? Hmm... there is of course fitting 3 inch exhausts on your SUV just to annoy the neighbours. Can I? Oo OO PLEASE??

May I pig-out, please?
....Jack... erm.. I didn't know you had laxative powers. good to know. Now then.. DeLarla. Let's do this in stages. Stage 1: Awwww you poor girl (((((HUGS))))) Stage 2: Its possible your body is lacking Protein, Water, or Vitamins. Try hard to cover those things first k? Stage 3: If you do pig-out, I may have to come to your bash down in Vegas and smite you in the eye with a 1 pound polish sausage dog. You HAVE been warned. (This message has been written in the new caring all-things-to-all-people style).
