I think I’m close to @MargoCL in surgery dates and I’m striving for 60 - 80 g of protein and usually hitting 600 calories. 80 +oz of water daily. And I’m eating small meals 5 - 6 times a day.

Post op pain - be honest
No pain meds here, and I really didn’t have pain per say, it was just more of uncomfortable for awhile.

Emotional first ‘stall’
Tomorrow will be five weeks post op and tomorrow will also be my husband’s 9th angel day. He was 40 when he passed away. We had just had our third daughter, who was 3 weeks old. It’s the first time I’ve mourned his death with no comfort food, and I believe it’ll be my first weigh in where I haven’t lost a single ounce. I knew that I gained my weight due to my loss and my new found habit of emotional eating, but I guess I didn’t realize how the true emotions must have been masked with food as I seem to be more grief struck than I have been in quite sometime. I seem to be constipated with the increase of protein. I noticed I seem to be grazing higher fat foods the past few days and am pissed at myself for not stopping this behavior sooner! I’m scared this means I’m going to fail. I want to pick myself up, shake off, and kick tomorrow in the teeth! I guess I just needed to vent ? #wordvomit

Feeling resentful, missing my favorite foods
I’m almost five weeks out and I’m having the first ‘down’ moments. I made a bariatric recipe for dinner and had the smallest portion and yet I puked it right up ? I’m tired of not eating. I’m tired of chest pain. I’m tired of throwing up. I want coffee ☕️ I’m tired of not being able to chug water for heavens sake‼️ agh .... I think I’m pushing myself and just need to go back to the basics. I just want to be on the other side of this, but I know I have to do the work. ???

Today is the Day. 3 hours left
Good luck ????

Vomitting
Hi there! I actually just started to weigh out my foods and your right; I was probably eating more than I should have. Hopefully this will decrease the vomiting ;)
-
Vomitting
4.5 weeks post op and I’ve thrown up since moving to soft foods a few times. But a) I can always tie it to something b) I’m learning to eat slower c) I have a very sensitive stomach these days. So I’m taking it extremely slow, introducing new foods one at a time, and learning when to stop eating. It’s a learning curve and this too shall pass.

Hospital Packing
I brought my fav sweats and tank to sleep in. Thick’s socks to wear. My own blanket. And of course charger cord & chapstick that has already been mentioned ;)

Newly sleeved ....buyers remorse ,nervous legs, cant see future
Tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks for me, sleeved 8.8.18‼️ I have ran the gamut of emotions, exhaustion, vomiting, and I’m constantly learning. It’s all new, to each and every one of us. No sleeve journey is exactly the same. Each body tolerates, heals, and flows differently. I try to just stay in the moment. Relax about the future. Enjoy the moment I’m in. Research. Learn. Take some advice. Throw others out. ? I wish you the best in your journey.

1st Stall - GRATITUDE POST!
I am so thankful for finding this community. There are no in person support groups in my area, and I was sleeved in Mexico so my surgeon & nutritional support is online. BUT I have learned so much from this community already, I feel surrounded ??✨

Cheese Cravings?
Three weeks post op tomorrow and I’m craving cheese like never before! I can have reduced low fat cheese on my plan if I chew it to death, but I’m wondering if I’m the only one who craves weird things this soon after? ???

Bingeing with Bypass
I know for me that my sleeve is just a part of my strategy for being successful. I’m definitely an emotional eater, and while everyone has their own journey in reaching their weight loss goals, mine includes therapy to deal with the issues of why I over eat in the first place. I wish us all strength & good luck!

To straw or not to straw
My program discouraged use of both straws and carbonated drinks. I gave up my daily La Croix on my pre op diet which was a struggle. But the more research I did I found that carbonated beverages were one of the leading causes of stretching the pouch and thus leading to gaining weight. Which I am doing everything in my power to be successful‼️

In absolute shock

Daily food journal
So I’m almost three weeks out and I’m wondering what others are eating and how long it’s been for you. Give me something to look forward to peeps! Am: Protein shake - 30g Lunch: protein shake - 30g Dinner: 2 oz chunk chicken, chewed to a pulp Snack: light string cheese All day sucking on ice chips and vitamin water zero. Sassy

Purée do’s and dont’s
Low fat string cheese in bites? I tried tuna but had to mix w avacado (tiny bit) so that it was moist and didn’t stick in my throat. Good luck!
-
Terrified of puréed phase
I’d say talk to your surgeon about if your taking appropriate dose of antacid? I had to up mine about one week out and it made a world of difference! Good luck!

Back to Work
I took almost two weeks off, a week part time, and back to four days a week this next week. I’ve already learned I literally am exhausted at the end of the day, ok maybe by the afternoon ? I also need to drink more and move slower. I thought I’d kill it and be working out by now ? but am learning this is a process and trying to just roll with it.

Moved to soft foods today. Clogged the toilet. Coincidence? I think not
Stepped back for dinner and had chicken broth and protein shake. Am just going to take it super slow ??

What did you have for dinner tonight?
