  1. I am with you. My 2019 new years fitness goal is to try to build a booty. It won't happen overnight. (I have cardio older woman butt) Feel free to start a squat or booty building challenge anytime. I will sign up..lol Here are a few glute building exercises to take a look at. https://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/muscle/glutes
  2. First stages of food are not satisfying. Hang in there. It will get better as you progress.
  3. @BigViffer can give you some good information and a guy's perspective. One site to do some research on is bodybuilding.com Lots of information - The site has training for beginners on up. Also an exercise database. You select the muscle you want to work. It will pull many different lifts and exercises. It also gives a video on how to use the equipment and proper form. https://www.bodybuilding.com/workout-plans/level/beginner https://www.bodybuilding.com/workout-plans/ https://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/
  4. If you have not been here already, Here is a link to a bariatricpal vegetarian/vegan forum. https://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1101-vegetarian-or-vegan-eating/
  5. I agree with @GreenTealael The sleeve was the right choice for me. Less invasive, My intestines are not rerouted. Type one diabetic I can eat small amount of sugar without dumping syndrome. Talk with your team. Find what's right for you.
  6. As always, great advice from @GreenTealael @FluffyChix To put your mind at ease, you can have your Dr check to see if you have an ulcer or acid reflux. Things will get better as you progress to real food. You are taking action to changing your behaviors. This is the mental battle with weight loss. One of the best gifts out of surgery is the things you overcome. Give us and update on how things progress after seeing your nutritionist and therapist. Wishing the best for you, Jenn
  7. Love seeing most of the poster here in that honeymoon phase. It's exciting and life changing...Right? Keep spreading that positivity.
  8. I would never say Expect to lose X amount of weight in X amount of time to anyone. Body physiology, medical issues medications can be a factor in rate of weight loss. We are all different and have our own experience with this process.
  9. Congrats on three weeks out! Weight loss is at its best in the first months. It will slow down as you progress. Take advantage of your first year. We all lose at different rates. It's not a race and comparing stats with others will make you crazy. I got to gaol in six months. Nothing magic. I followed my plan. Walked, elliptical and a bit of weight training. Honeymoon phase: My answer depends on your definition of honeymoon phase. I think my first stall made me realize this is work The reality that any of us can gain weight back The high from seeing the scale move stops and maintaining begins Four years out - I am still grateful and excited about this 2nd chance in life. Weight Loss, getting my health back, having adventures in life........ It's still a honeymoon to me.?
  10. Speed and pleasure ...Love it *☺️ I use my home scale. It gives me weight, body fat, bone density and water weight. I am not a professional athlete. (Well, in my mind I am ?) I don't feel the need for a dexascan. But, if you are looking for accuracy spend the money. What are your fitness goals? Are you building muscle ?
  11. Yes, I feel satisfied with food. I have times of hunger. Hunger is more manageable since I had surgery.
  12. @BigViffer @Matt Z I think matching tattoos

  15. Oh yes, Me and sugar alcohols are not friends. *smile*
  16. It's your choice to follow Doctor's instructions to take care of an ER situation or ignore it. The only one who has to be happy with the outcome of that decision is you. Can you get treatment for IBS from another DR? All post/opinions are appreciated. Even when we don't agree on issues. Some of us are tough love others may be a softer tone. We are still here for the original poster out of concern.
  17. Celebrate big for onderland!
  18. Saying it loud and proud. I love nuts! Pecans in salad, cashews in stir fry and sliced almond with green beans
  19. Minimal. I bounced back quickly from surgery.
  20. It's personal choice. How strict or sack you want your diet to look. We all have different body physiology. Carbs and sugars may work for one person and not for others. No judgment for either routes if it get us to the same goal. Does not matter what type of surgery or what food plan you have, Any of us can have weight gain. Surgery is not magic. This will be a lifetime of healthy choices.
  21. @BigViffer Race season is over. I'm hitting weights to get rid of my flat cardio butt. lol Looking forward to the change. Hope to see results by summer.
  22. Thanks @BigViffer The loop course is on paved roads with 1,181 feet of elevation gain over three hills. Still feeling it.
