  1. I love chili. There’s an awesome turkey chili recipe on the Bariatric pal site that I can’t wait to try. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks I’ll be in that phase. But I love that I’m losing. I miss real food though a little.
  2. Thanks all. I’m still sipping. If I try to gulp I get the bubbly feeling and am immediately burping. I’ll just stick to sipping ice water. At least that is better than room temp water. That does nothing for me. Hate room temp water.
  3. Hi All, Just thought I’d post some soup recommendations for weeks 2-3 post sleeve diet. I’ve found that Amy’s organic mushroom bisque and butternut squash go down really easy. I was able to do 4-5 spoonfuls over about 30 minutes with ease. I couldn’t get anymore down. They also have lentil soups that I’m eager to try when I get to the soft food phase. I finally feel satisfied after a week of mostly feeling hungry and like protein drinks were not cutting it and left a bad aftertaste. Enjoy!
  4. Yes I was a huge water drinker. All I drank all day long. I’ve water was like dessert for me. I wake up in the middle of the night to drink water. Keep ice water by my bed.
  5. Does anyone have an unquenchable thirst? I’m sipping water all day. Almost so much that I’m cutting into the 30 min window before and after eating and I may skip eating so I can continue drinking. I’ve tried iced water and cutting low sugar Gatorade with water but nothing is helping. It’s also annoying that I can’t do anything but sip. I really want to chug. Water was always my friend but now it’s not doing the job. Any tips?
  6. Can’t wait till I’m in the 250’s but that does sound annoying. Keep at it. You’ll make it!!! Well done so far!
  7. I would go to the ER. Extreme diarrhea seems abnormal. Especially considering you haven’t eaten anything solid for a few days maybe even weeks. Doesn’t sound right.
  8. Congrats bigcurt! Me being an old timer (surgery was Oct. 2nd) everything you say seems normal. I asked my surgeon about bowel movements and he said it’s normal for them to be few and far apart because we’re only doing liquid. Would be more concerned if I had no urine. Sounds like you’re doing well. Wishing you the best!
  9. Oh that would have been horrible! That’s my downfall right there. Cookies and brownies. Cannot resist! Although I just made some homemade cookies and was able to deal. I hope my brain is being retrained.
  10. Yes. And I forgot and scratched one of my incisions open. I covered it up with like 6 band aids. I hope it closes back up without me having to go back to the hospital.
  11. I know right. They make it look so...edible! LOL. Now if there were chocolate covered strawberries I’d be dying right about now!
  12. Thanks. They love fruit. I finally broke it down and out the rest in a big bowl in the fridge so I didn’t have to look at it. I’ll freeze the rest in a couple of days for smoothies later.
  13. So I did not disclose why I was going out on leave from work. Just said I was having some stomach surgery/gastric issues. So, my coworkers just sent me a beautiful edible arrangement. That’s what I get for not sharing. Thank goodness it doesn’t have chocolate covered fruit or I would’ve cried. But the fruit looks lovely and delicious. Hubby and kids will enjoy. I did snag some pineapple to freeze later on for my protein smoothies. I still want to bite into that fruit though! (Sigh)
  14. Maybe call your doctor and see what they recommend. I’m only a week post surgery but was told if only be on the liquid/puréed food for 2 weeks then the next stage is regular food. If it’s really bothering you a call to the doc office will ease your mind.
  15. Well my surgery is now in November. So I guess I won’t be starting October group! ? Good luck to everyone in October!! Can’t wait to hear how everyone did!! Wishing you all the best. The time will fly by!

  17. Oh I paid for it later. LOL. But I can’t sit still. I’m trying really hard not to get into super clean mode at home and just take it easy. Especially with staples still in. Will be so glad to get those out tomorrow.
  18. No, I just called my doctors office for one. I’m hoping that’s what it is. It doesn’t matter the temp of the food or time of day. It happens if u sip water in the middle of the It’s causing me not to want to drink anything so I know I’m nearing dehydration. My mouth is so dry.
  19. Do you mind sharing those videos? Ever since having 2 babies back to back I’ve felt like my hips are out of whack. Would love to try something that relieves me of that feeling. Thanks so much!
  20. Hey you look great! I’m following this thread!
  21. LOL. I think it may just be my surgeon. He seems to be overly cautious. I’ll go about it at a slow pace. He said my surgery was routine and had no issues so I see no reason why I can’t exercise like everyone else. Thanks!
  22. Are you having weird squeezing/tightness with drinking? It’s hard to explain but I keep getting these weird squeezing sensations and bubbly feeling immediately after sipping pretty much anything except a protein shake. I just dipped in some homemade pea soup and I felt like I had a rubber tube trying to escape out of my chest. Been having it since my surgery off and on. Just wondering when/if it will go away.
  23. Nope no reason. Just part of my discharge instructions when I asked about exercise. Got it. Thanks!
