Zumba!
I am working on increasing my water intake. Its still difficult because I am very thirsty but still have to take small sips. My NUT told me Zumba was ok, but I will follow up and ask if I need to increase protein. Other than the extra ounce, did you notice a change in your appetite?

1st Stall - GRATITUDE POST!
I echo your sentiments of gratefulness for this forum. I am 4 weeks post op and hit a stall despite exercising and following the diet exactly. I could see the day where a stall would have caused me to freak out but thanks to all the information shared by the great people here, I just shrugged it off. So thankful for this community

Zumba!
Hi everyone, I was sleeved on 8/2 and have been walking about a mile every day. Last week I joined a gym. I did Zumba twice last week and three times this week. Until now, I have had almost no desire to eat but yesterday I started to think I was a little hungry which is starting to scare me. I read that sleevers drop a lot of their weight in the first couple months so i was trying to maximize that but dont want to go too far. I wanted to ask your opinions on whether you think I am exercising too soon? Or maybe too much? When did you all start? And what did you start out doing?

Question about calories
I get between 600-800 per day, but I am still reliant on shakes for my protein because I cant eat that much.

Congratulations to you on pursuing your dream of becoming a lawyer. Just as you are strong enough to juggle going back to school and raising a family, I know you have what it takes to get that weight off. You got this!

My phase 2 was full liquids as well. Lots of protein shakes, strained soups, a little yogurt and SF Popsicles.

Anyone eat omelets?
I was not able to tolerate scrambled eggs for some reason but I was able to eat a 1 egg omelet with a little cheese. It was great.

What to expect??
My surgery experience was not much different than those mentioned above. The only thing that I wasn’t prepared for was waking up in PAIN- big time pain! I didn’t get comfortable until I left recovery and got settled into my room where I started walking and got some good pain meds. (I am convinced that the initial post op nurse wasn’t giving me the good stuff). The day after surgery I had some nausea but it was easily controlled with medication. I was discharged after 2 days and the pain and nausea were completely gone. I was weak and really tired for the first few days, but every day I felt better and got stronger.

Alex Brecher mentions BariatricPal in this news article
This is a great read. Thank you for sharing this article. I was glad that the author touched on the psychological changes that happen along with the physical.

EZ Melts
I started out with multivitamin, B12 and Biotin vitamin melts. I tried them out for a few days before surgery and did just fine with them. About a week after surgery, the multis stared making me sick. The Biotin and B12 are not giving me any problem. I switched to the soft chews and haven't had much luck with those either. I'm going to try a different brand in the melts and see how it goes.

Oh man! Hopefully you feel better soon.

Back to work/school - what did you tell people?
I didn't tell a soul either. I do not want to be sized up every time I see someone, or have my food constantly monitored. I feel like it was a personal choice and it's my business and I kept it to myself.

Scar Removal
Thank you for the suggestion. I have seen some commercials for Bio Oil so I have heard of it before. I'll look for some.

Scar Removal
That's a great way to look at it. Maybe I'll just let nature take its course and see what happens.
