Calling All 12 hour shift people
I work nights (7p-7a) 3 to 4 nights a week. I have found it challenging to get all the protein needed during my shift since I am usually so busy. All liquids was not as bad as I thought. I took my Magic Bullet with me since I liked my shakes from the doctor better than Slim fast. On liquids I would bring shake stuff with me, sf jello and pudding. I would also bring cup at hand Campbell's soup. I would eat every 3 hours. I am about to finish finish mushies and have added bringing refried beans, mushy chicken or tuna salad. I have trouble getting workouts in on work nights when I am on a stretch but try to talk walks on breaks. Good Luck!

Starbucks..what do you order??
I am a Starbucks Junkie!! I use to go every day and at my highest point I was having two venti iced drinks a day. I really like the Skinny latte's either hot or cold. My new craving is the Black Shaken Iced tea with sweet-n-low. I had 3 of them yesterday.....

Calorie counting and food intake log
I know this may sound crazy but how do you log your food intake/calories if you dont work/live the normal 9-5 job. I am a RN and work nights (7p-7a) but try to keep a day schedule when I am not working due to family. I am up then sometimes over 24 hours several times a week. I asked my nutritionist about it but she didnt know what to do but to spread out my calories?? My options are - awake to when I go to sleep, 7a-7a, midnight to midnight.

I am sorry that you are having a hard time with your band. I am a newbie, but have you looked into seeing another doctor in the area? I go to Dr. Collier with Journeylite and he is wonderful!!!

Anyone else eating normal?
I was banded on the 15th and have been so HUNGRY lately too. I went for my post-op appt and was moved to mushies but had my 1st consult with the nutritionist next day and I got confused. I ate some starting out foods for 2-3 days and ate way less than I use to but still felt bad. Got back on the right track with mushies.

Thanks for the invite! I made a small goal this time. I will be out of town for 5 days in 2 weeks so I did not want to make it unmanagable.

I was banded on the 15th and at my post-op appt on the 27th I have lost 13 lbs. I went on a mushy/soft food diet and have not lost any since. I have no restriction at all and started exercising much more than before. Cant wait for my 1st fill on 6/13!!

Dr. Richard Collier - Checking on everyone??
I am doing okay. Only down 13 lbs but since my pre-op appt. I went out to eat tonight - kobe. I only ate so little compared to what I use to. I still feel like I ate to much though. I am scared of gaining. I have to go to Outback tomorrow for my nephew's graduation too. Eating out is tough!!

Just starting out
My name is Sarah, I am married with 1 child who is almost 2 years old. I live in the Houston area. Recently banded on 5/15/08. Preop weight is 272 and goal is 160 to start. I am an emotional eater and tend to eat too fast which is a struggle right now with the band. I work nights as a Nurse and tend to not have enough time for myself and I do not get enough sleep. Looking for a buddy to learn from, lean on, and vent occasionally.

Tomorrow!!

Conroe or Willis Tx Support Group
Dont forget Journeylite is having their support meeting tonight at the main office. I wont be there though  I have my nutritionist appointment today at 3pm and it is my only family night. See my ticker!!! I am now on mushies...

Do you make more of an effort to look nicer now?
I am still doing my usual thing but still not up to doing the eye shadow deal. Love that the clothes are fitting more loosely.
-
Very negative comment from fill doctor.
Another Houston area person here. Was wondering if you checked on going to a different doctor? I would not personally spend that amount of cash on a patient then to have him act that way. You have done great already

What to do before pre-op diet?
Another Houston area person!!! Yeah  Who is your surgeon? I was told to do the slimfast Low Carb drinks. They are $5.50 area for a 4 pack at Walmart. I would cut out all carbonated drinks now!!! On my pre-op diet I did 3 amaze-rx shakes. For breakfast you got one serving of two of the following - toast, egg, oatmeal, yogurt. Dinner was 1 serving of lean meat and 2 servings of green veggie - beans, brocolli, lettuce, peas. There are several good support groups in the area... PM anytime!!
