  1. I have had 4 fills now. Between 3 and 4 I could eat about anything and never felt stuck. After my last fill I have lost almost 10lbs. I eat like you are suppose to, get full quickly and the radar detector goes off if I eat to fast or too much. I am at 7.2 in a 10ml band. My exercise program with my personal trainer is at a standstill right now due to Hurricane Ike and I had stopped before that due to heart problems so this is a big milestone. My next goal is 50lb mark by 10-11-08. Anyone have any tips to keep this up and/or found their spot?
  2. I agree that it would be good to do measurements. I did not do them until 8 weeks out and have seen a big difference already from that point on. I wore grey tank top and grey shorts with no makeup on. Remember that you probably will be so proud of your progress that you will post and show these pictures around. I am embarresed to show them now and not due to being big but not wearing any makeup. I wished that I would have taken more flattering pictures for the BILLBOARD that will be posted on the freeway :crying:. Multiple angles are important.
  3. I went in for another fill last Friday and I now know what restriction. I guess found my "spot" so far. I use to eat as much as I wanted and had to push away the plate. Now it is 2 to 3 bites and I am done. I only change my ticker when I go to the doctor but my personal scale show (-4) since my fill.
  4. I have a very active 2 year old and I very much needed the help. You are on a lift limit for the 1st several weeks and YES picking up your child does make a difference. The more help you get the better. Please take this time to heal and rest. Your body really needs it!!! PM if you have any specific questions.

Congratulations on your success!!! Way to go...
  6. I bought the Nivea firming lotion and like it so far (2 applications). I also bought some Vitamin E oil for about $3.00 per jar. I am starting to have itching around the excess skin where the stretch marks are and have lost about 30lbs only with 100lbs more to go. Really nervous about this. I have follow up with my surgeon monthly so I am planning on making sure he documents all of the itching and such on my chart. Thanks for the input Dr. Schulman.
  7. I got mine at Walmart and they were fairly reasonable, I know I wouldn't pay $7.50 for a box. Good luck!! I have been getting the 100 calorie snack packages and seem to do the trick until I can get something better in me.
  8. This is what my doctor recommends and can buy it wholesale and in bulk through his office. It is pretty good with none of the aftertaste involved. AmazeRX
  9. Curious to read the article now... Thanks for the insight. I am happy that I got banded and wouldn't change a thing.
  10. Congratulations!!! Keep up the good work
  11. When you can sit comfortably in a booth instead of asking for a table at restaurants. When you can now cross your legs above the knee
  12. Just got caught up on the post for the last 2 days or so. Sorry about your fall, glad it was minor and nothing broken. That doctor's bathroom theory is a piece of @$)$! I have never heard of such BS. I am sure your pulse rate was up due to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Great deal on the AC unit, I would have done the same thing too. That would have been too heavy to put on the belt. I am glad that you are able to eat more and it is true about the increased calories needed for healing. Good Luck!!
  13. Hope you can find the support you need to get the weight loss going. I never realized that prior to surgery how much I did eat and how much the band is a tool not a sure thing.
  14. Sounds like a lot to consider. I would talk with your surgeon about your feelings and see if he/she is able to help. I chose the lapband because of minimal invasive to the body, with bypass they cut your intestines and re-route things. The lapband does not mess with your nutrients and is only a tool "radar detector". There is still a lot of work involved but well worth the effort.
  15. That sounds like a great trip. I am sure you will be smoking in that swimsuit!! Have fun

Good Luck!! I am glad you have found what the problem has been lately. Off for the next 5 days, hope to be hitting the gym.
  17. I am glad things are going well.
  18. I am a SUPER FAST eater. I get the "lapburn" all the time. I am always working on doing the chew, chew chew.....
  19. I always order water now. It is too hard to explain why I don't order anything liquid. I thought of splitting the meal but we dont like the same thing. I do share with my son and the last time I ordered a full meal I asked for a box at the same time and put 1/2 to 3/4 in it when the meal came out.
  20. I am so glad that things are going well. Did you try Benadryl for the itching? of course I would ask your doctor but it could be just inflammation from wearing the binder. I would ask at the appt. today. So happy for you!!!
  21. I have thought of this alot and was one of my 1st questions asked at the initial seminar. I was HIGHLY advised not to mess with the port or band. He said that it could be really bad trying to self adjust it and can harm the integrity of the band.
  22. Hope you are feeling better!!
