  1. Sweet! Good luck with your pre-op diet phase and let's do this! I am 30 days out as of today!
  2. Incredible transformation! And the red hair complements your face now much more too! Awesome job on your journey!
  3. I have been cath'd . I do not know what kind of adhesive they use for that thing but it took alcohol swabs to remove it. Adhesive remover did not work and it pulled each and every hair under it. The last time I went under, I asked them to shave my leg where they were going to put the stabilizer, but they just left it off. It was so much more comfortable that way, as long as the tube was not pulled by anything.
  4. Good luck! You've got this! It's going to be awesome! We cannot wait for an update... (-:
  5. Radiating pain can also be caused by things moving around a bit after surgery. There could be a pocket of gas or fluid that eventually moves and something that was worked on moves too. This can cause a bit of discomfort. As you have said, it is always best to check with your doctor.
  6. Yes, the procedure went well. The ride situation went as planned. The only issue is the doctor is concerned with the size of my liver. He said it was pressing on my stomach, more so than normally. I had a couple of more tests done on Friday, August 3rd. I should find out this week if there is an issue with my liver, other than fatty liver disease. Thank you for asking!
  7. Here are some images from my bariatric binder that I was issued by my surgical team, mostly pertaining to Step 2: Pureed/Full Liquid post-op diet.
  8. I've only been able to do anything with the tickers using the website, not the app. If you click on the "+Create" drop-down menu on the upper right side of the page, then click on "tickers," you are taken to the page where you can create them. Once you have one created that you want to display, click on "add to signature." (I think that is what the last step says...) Then, they show up in the signature. I just added the BMI one just to show how to do it...
  9. good luck with everything you need to do during your pre-op phase. I just completed my appointments and now only have the pre-op diet to worry about. I have no more appointments (unless something happens with my CT scan and my liver...) until my surgery!
  10. Hello everyone! I finally got a date - September 6, 2018! I will be having multiple surgeries along with my vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I will elaborate on the other things I will have done in a separate thread - I want to keep this for the sleeve part only. I've been in the conversation since March 2018 and am on my second surgeon, whom I've been seeing since June 29, 2018. I've lost (as of Aug. 2, 2018) 28 pounds so far. I am officially on the four-week pre-op diet. The surgeon is concerned with my liver size. I had to have a CT scan yesterday to specifically look at the liver and the blood flow through it. He thinks I have what is called Portal Hypertension. The CT scan should give him the answers he is looking for. He did say that if it turns out that I have portal hypertension, he may not be able to perform the surgery due to higher risks of bleeding. Fingers crossed! The surgeon also found during the upper endoscopy that I have an hiatal hernia. He said he would repair this also when performing the VSG. My pre-op diet consists of greater than 64oz of water a day, a protein shake and veggies/fruit for breakfast & lunch, a snack (cottage cheese, greek yogurt, etc.) and veggies/fruit, and 3oz of lean meat and veggies for dinner. I'm limited to strictly 800 calories or less per day while getting greater than 90g protein. I've been doing this diet for a bit now and I am averaging 795 calories, 95g protein, and greater than 90oz of water each day. So good, so far. Right now, I'm eating 1/4 cup of ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of mini peppers, and 1/2 cup of sugar snap peas. I added some Cholula green pepper sauce and some Cholula chili garlic sauce to the ricotta cheese - I'm not used to the flavor and texture yet, so this is helping me eat it. (I have to do the same with cottage cheese, that or add some salsa) Good luck to everyone!
  11. It's an east coast grocery chain. I could not find a way to purchase it online.
  12. This!!! I was on it for a few months back in the 1990s and it was so bad I would not even masturbate... Most SSRI medications have sexual side effects. Talk to your doctor about it. And, if he is only sticking around for the sex, are you sure he's the right guy?
  13. It is most likely the formation of scar tissue. Sometimes they go away, but not always. I have lots of scar tissue on my abdomen and it is hard, lumpy, and hair will not grow on it anymore...
  14. Nicely done! Way to go!
  15. I'm dyslexic, so when I first saw your post, I thought you said Roman Numerals... Why do you feel guilty? Is it because of all the sodium?
  16. Wow, a 12-hour day before surgery... brutal! Good luck! You'll do awesome!
  17. Nice job! Keep up the great work! Keep us informed of how you are doing too!
  18. Being nervous is a natural part of the process. One piece of advice is to ask all of your questions to the anesthesiologist and the team before you go under, even if you have already asked them. You will feel better after you do. I have had four major abdominal surgeries and was put at ease by talking with the anesthesiologist and some of the nurses before I started. This also passes the time between when they start the IV and when you wake up in recovery. You are going to do awesome!
  19. Very nice! and respectable time to boot!
  20. Way to go! Keep up the great work!
  21. And you changed your profile photo, so that really threw me off as well...
  22. Congratz on your surgery date!
  23. Thank you for those ideas and for the link!
