  1. I have officially found a ride for Wednesday in Salt Lake City. I spoke with my friend's son last evening and we worked out the details. Thanks again to everyone for their ideas and suggestions.
  2. So, what you are saying is there's a chance? I did, actually... Thank you for reminding me, I need to update the post.
  3. I would just like someone to like me for me. Everyone I meet is either married, lesbian (is this a convenient excuse?), or just not interested in a large human. I truly hope that I never see any of these women after I meet my goal. I'm afraid that I may say something that is in my best interest to keep to myself. I doubt it will ever happen...
  4. Thanks to everyone for all of the advice & the suggestions. I have found someone to help me out. He is the son of a friend at work. The office is going to let me give his phone number and they will call & verify him. Then, he comes to pick me up after the procedure when he gets off work.
  5. Should it or does it? It should not but it does, definitely.
  6. at least it is in the same state... lol!
  7. One thing I used to do when I was doing the "Body for Life" plan was to make scrambled eggs using one whole egg and three egg whites. Obviously, it is too much food at one time, but maybe try this and portion it into four meals. Less of the yoke, but some so there is still flavor and a bit of yellow color.
  8. I just finished one... here you go!
  9. Pizza... yum! I actually talked about pizza today with my counselor. Keep up the awesome work!
  10. That is wonderful! Keep it up!
  11. If I were not already so far into the process, I'd definitely take you up on that offer! Thank you! BTW, I'll be visiting Albany next summer for the commencement ceremony for Excelsior College, where I'll be graduating from in February 2019. I hope to be close to my goal weight by then.
  12. Why, thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words... (-:
  13. I officially weigh-in at my doctor's office every time I'm seen, which has been weekly so far. I weigh my self every day at home when I get up just to watch for trends. I also weigh in every day or so at the medical office at work. I do this mostly as a break from sitting at my computer all day. I stop in either before or after one of my walks. Again it is just for trending. I'm honestly not worried about the weight so much as the bulk. I want to weigh less, of course, but I want to be smaller.
  14. My NUT also said this except for the multivitamin, because the gummy version does not contain iron.
  15. Are any vitamins FDA approved? As far as I know (AFAIK), the only vitamins that are FDA approved are the ones that require a prescription for dispensation.
  16. I get it... really... Actually, I plan to call them later today to see if there is something I can arrange with a driver to come in with me and check in, then leave and pick me up after the appointment. Maybe if they do not announce they are an Uber driver, it will work.
  17. I'm looking into non-emergency medical transportation now and I have a call into the doctor's office to see if this will work. Thanks for the tip!
  18. I asked my insurance company but they do not offer (or pay for) any transportation services outside of Idaho.
  19. I thought about that too. Since I'm out of the area, I have not tried it yet. If I do not have anyone to drive me on the day of the procedure, I may bribe one an Uber / Lyft driver into doing just what you suggest. Good idea! I agree it is a ridiculous policy.
  20. Actually, I meant to say that they forbid the use of public transportation. I was just going to use the hotel shuttle but they said that does not work either. I've now edited my original post to include that. And I did not take your remark as snarky. I wish they would let me use one of those services. I'm ready to hire a homeless person but I don't think I'd ever see my car again... (-:
  21. Next Wednesday, August 1st, I have my upper endoscopy scheduled at 2:15 pm. I had a ride set up for that afternoon but now has fallen through. I was wondering if anyone knows anyone in the Salt Lake City area who would be able to pick me up from the University of Utah medical center and drop me off at my hotel a couple of miles away, please? I am willing to pay for their help and also to let them use my car for the transportation. Please send me a private message for my phone number and additional details, if you can help out. I really appreciate it! Thank you in advance! edit: public transportation such as a car service, Uber, Lyft, or the hotel shuttle service are not allowed...
