The things kids say
I love it.....that is so precious!! I'm expect my boys to want me to pull up my shirt to see the scars like they did when daddy had his hernia surgery. He had that last spring and my youngest asked to see his scar just the other day.....not only are they innocent, they remember more than what we think they do.

I just have to say...
I just love this place and I'm so thankful everyday!! This is the first and only group I've been a part of, and I really do lean on LBT for more support than I care to admit (I've always been the independent type). I'm still waiting on insurance, but I'm not so sure I would have gotten as far with them if I hadn't been armed with the info I learned here. This site has really played a HUGE roll in my lapband journey.....and will continue to do so. Special thanks to all of you from me too....I love you all!!!

I had a surprise package delivered to my house today
How wonderful!! :biggrin1: I'm sure that just made your day. Makes me wish I had a sister, but I do have 3 brothers I wouldn't trade for the world.....I would have traded them in my younger days. :heh: Be sure to take a pic to save for your scrapbook (if you keep one).

Ignorant People Irritate me!!!
I agree there are times that we should turn the other cheek and Photonut, I'm sorry about that nasty woman you encountered. In both cases with sarahv & Photonut, I would have reacted in a similar manner. However, I do believe you teach people how to treat you. There are times that you should stand up for yourself and put a rude person in their place. I can't think of a time right off the top of my head, but I will speak up in certain instances b/c there are behaviors I do not tolerate in relation to how the behavior is directed at me or a loved one. Two wrongs don't make a right, but it's O.K. to take a stand for yourself.....you are the best friend you will ever have!!

Today's NSV hooray! (long post)
First of all, Congratulations for running on the tread mill. That's more than I can do....AWESOME!!! About appetite suppressants......I have taken Meridia & Inonamin in the past and both have worked for a short period of time. I'm talking 2-3 mos. I asked my PCP for some a year ago and he won't prescribe ANY type of suppressants b/c of the possible side effects. At the time, I found it odd though that he supported WLS and not WL drugs. Now, I'm so thankful b/c the road has led me to the band. ~Good Luck~

Potty-Training Boys???
Amy ~ It sounds like Anderson is plugging along. It does take baby steps sometimes. You do have your hands full though....I bet he is a pistol in other areas as well. I was sad for him when you said he would have an accident b/c he wasn't really finished. :cry Poor guy...they don't understand yet. He will get there. Danny is getting so big these days that he runs me out of the bathroom. He says, "No see me mommy, I need privacy". He learned the privacy part from me. Sometimes a mom just needs to pee in peace and I guess it has caught on. :nervous I think I may copy this post to my hard drive b/c there are a lot of memories here. My mom keeps telling me to write things down in a book, but who has the time?

Another Nsv....
Super Duper!!! I just love NSV's. You know, you can go to www.jerrybaker.com for some advice on how to make your grass grow. We have a large yard too, so add us to your list of things "To Do" if you decide to start mowing lawns. :heh: Thanks for sharing & Congratulations again!!

?bulemia?
Oh my....you poor thing!! I am preband, so can't speak from experience. I would call my surgeon if I were you b/c it sounds like your swollen. I'm sure there are many on here that can offer better advice. This will bump your post so maybe more people will see it and respond. Take care & good luck!!

A new NSV for me!
Congratulations....you must be thrilled!! :clap2: I can barely remember the size 18 days and the size 14 days were in the ancient times for me. I can picture you with a big smile when you walked out of the dressing room. :biggrin1:

I'm pregnant
Congratulations on your new little blessing!! :baby: This is so exciting especially since it's your first!! I will pray for all of you as well. We have a baby sometime in our future....the Lord willing....after my surgeon gives the thumbs up (I'm preband right now). Be sure to keep us posted and I will also follow you so I can gain knowledge of pregnancy with the band. Best wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy!! :preggers:

Potty-Training Boys???
I would have to say my son is now potty trained with the exception of an occasional pee at night. We use pull-ups. Anyway, today I had this sadness that came over me b/c I can't remember the last time I changed his pull-up. I am so proud of him being potty trained now, but my baby is growing up.....boo hoo. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just rewind once in awhile? :cry I guess it's human nature to want what you don't have. :tired Thanks for listening!!

Need to get this off my chest~HELP if U can
Nope....I called yesterday and most of the businesses in MI had an Easter/Spring Break holiday. I LMOR today. Still waiting. :phanvan Thank you for asking. I think they are looking hard for a reason to say no, but they can't really find one b/c I've met all their requirements. We'll see. I'm ready to fight if necessary. :fencing:

How the band changed my life! (pictures)
Thank U....the secret to getting that low is NO heels...flats only or I would have fallen flat. Trust me, I didn't stay there for long. Next year, I'll be wearing heels like you Diane. :biggrin1:

How the band changed my life! (pictures)
Diane ~ You have a beautiful family and you are so blessed!! Not to mention you look beautiful yourself!! :clap2: We always take a family pic at Easter, but this year we didn't have anyone to take one of us together. Every year I feel like a giant Easter egg in my pastel colors. I can't wait till next year to show the thinner me and I hope I have such a wonderful, happy smile as you!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!! Here's me trying to hide....oh well....I tried. :phanvan

Denied
Oh Karen ~ I am so sorry to hear this. :phanvan I may be joining you soon as I have a feeling my insurance is looking for every reason under the sun to deny me.....my file is currently being reviewed by the insurance physician and has come back once requesting more info. Something I have learned through all of this though is that the appeal usually takes a lot less time than the initial submission. Do you have a family history of any co-morbidities that could be considered a risk down the road? Here's a couple of sites I put in my favorites (recommended here at LBT) in the event I need them. I don't know how you intend to proceed, but maybe these links will be of some help. http://www.obesitylaw.com/ http://info.insure.com/health/claimdenial.html I will continue to pray for you and remember the Lord's timing is perfect. This isn't over so keep you chin up!!!

First day of optifast and it's hard
Hang in there and just take it one day at a time. I did the regular Optifast plan last year for weight loss (I'm preband). I had 5 shakes and 1 bar a day for 12 weeks....it does get easier with each passing day. I got very weak so my doc said it was OK to have "Herb Ox" brand bouillon cube. They have a lower sodium than the other brands of bouillon cubes. Ask you doc about this is you are still getting headaches or start to feel faint. I thought I was going to pass out one time while driving.....scared me to death, but the cubes helped.
